Fast and Fit Friday! Popping in for a quick review on the Rollga Foam Roller. As most of you know, I have been working on recovery, rehab, prehab and basically anything that keeps me feeling good and running pain free. I received a Rollga Foam Roller in exchange for a fair review. Roll with it!
Rollga Foam Roller
The name for Rollga is derived from a combination of “rolling” and “yoga”. The developers believe that the combination of stretching and foam rolling is the key to happy muscles. Works for me! I can certainly get on bored with that philosophy.
I was surprised initially at the shape of the Rollga as it’s so different from any of other foam rollers I have. Upon, first roll I could feel the difference. The contour shape and design really allows for a deeper, but not too deep myofascial release and self massage. The 18″ long foam roller is just the right size for any body part.
After studying the rolling guide included in my package, I put it to test. I immediately appreciated the contours and the ability to get into some new spots. I especially like how it felt to roll my lats and shoulders-something I don’t do enough of. Rolling my up and down my spine felt safe and also oh so good. I had never rolled my forearms before and wow they needed it.
My calves got some excellent work with the firm, but not too firm, pressure. The demo photos gave me great suggestions for basically every body part. I rolled and rolled many spots that I have obviously over looked in the past.
Rollga just might become my most used foam roller. It’s light (weighing just one pound) but firm and comes with a handy carry strap as well. It is small enough that it could travel with you. I can see why Runner’s World named it Editor’s Choice in 2018.
I don’t have anything negative to say about Rollga. Available in 7 colors. There are also numerous videos on their site with demo rolling techniques. Now, I just need to make myself use it often. That is the challenge!

I have never heard of this type of foam roller. Looks like it would get in all the right places. I definitely don’t foam roll enough.

It does get into those hard to reach spots!

I haven’t seen a roller with this shape. It looks perfect to get into your muscle without being too deep. Thanks for the reminder to foam roll more too!
Deborah Brooks says

I was also surprised at the shape at first but then once you explained how it worked, the shape makes total sense! Sometimes with my basic foam roller, it can feel quite painful when I hit certain areas. It looks like the shape of this would hit all the problem areas without being super painful. Thanks for the review!

I had the same initial thoughts but it makes total sense once you start playing with it

This looks like a great product! The contours wound be great for a better “deeper” massage on those achy muscles. I tend to use my beaded roller stuck the most because it’s a lot more convenient that my traditional foam roller (like in the car after a race, or on the couch). This roller looks like it wound be a great addition to my recovery supply.
Deborah Brooks says
I think it’s an excellent addition

Sounds like a great roller! When I saw the picture of you rolling on it on Instagram, I thought you were lying on three medal kettlebells laying on their sides. LOL
Deborah Brooks says
Ooh that probably would not feel as good! 🙂

Thanks for this extremely informative post.A foam roller is one of my most important workout tools. The physical therapist instructs to perform exercises to help with lower back or muscle pain. Making sure to start with a foam roller. Complete all your exercises for as long as you can each day and you will notice less pain over time!
