    • You’ve just killed that workout! You ran, swam, cycled or lifted. Then here comes the “Rungries”. You need food – NOW! If you are anything like me, sometimes you need to grab lunch or dinner on the fly, but you still want it to be healthy and eat fresh. I feel good about my workouts and my healthy lifestyle and want to feel good about the food choices I make as well.
    • I am loving how good the fruit is this summer and recently starting making salads with fruit mixed in. I still love my veggies, but fruit has just been calling my name this summer.
    • After my run the other day, I was thinking about what I was going to eat. I remembered that I had tried a great Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad at Panera a few weeks ago with the girls and realized it was just down the street.
    • This salad is packed with romaine, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, oranges, pecans and chicken raised without antibiotics, which is just what I was looking for. I choose the fat-free poppyseed dressing on the side, which is free of artificial flavors, colors, preservatives and sweeteners. I like that I can get the salad without the chicken as well.
    • Satisfying and filling for under 350 calories and low in sodium as well! #PaneraGoodness
    • Next time I am going to try the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad with Gorgonzola, pecans & tomatoes and chicken raised without antibiotics with an apple balsamic dressing. I love the apple and cheese combo! (I will also be getting it without chicken.)
  • Do you like fruit in your salads? Have you checked out the salads at Panera lately?

I have been craving lots of fruit this summer too. The peaches and nectarines are excellent this year ! O put both in my salad, they go great with tomato and feta.

I am crazy about fruit in my salads. LOVE it! Nothing better than a giant mixed baby greens salad with tons of veggies and fruit. I’ll have to check out where there is a Panera close to me.

Panera has always been my absolute favorite! I get those salads without chicken all the time! Sometimes my store will sub avocado for my chicken for me b/c they rock!

Great idea! I didn’t think about asking them to do that for me.

It was a day of joy when Panera opened up a branch at my place of employment (George Mason U) — their people are great and I was delighted to learn that you can get the salads without chicken. It is super-popular and summer is a treat — you can get in there without the crowds. I’m a fan!

I don’t know what it is, but I cannot put fruit in my salad. The closest thing I can do are dried cranberries. I think the soft texture of fruit vs. crunchy veggies just totally weirds me out! I will sometimes put dried fruit in my salad though – dried mango, apple chips, etc. THOSE I love : )

      07/23/2015 at 9:54 am

I used to be like that with fruit as well but it’s kind of “grown” on me 🙂

I am newly liking fruits in my salads. They do have lots of choices there.

I prefer fruit in my salad (shredded coconut too) with chicken or plain tuna with poppyseed dressing ( Brianna’s is my favorite ). Panera’s salads are all so good. I recently just tried their Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich minus the Feta and onion. The sandwich itself was not much to look at and it was small but it was full of so much flavor! I was really shocked and now it’s my favorite menu item.

They have lots of choices and they are good about substitutions which I often need too.

There are no Panera’s in my area, but you better believe the second I am Stateside on vacation I am checking it out! Fruit in otherwise savory salads is the best.
