October Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you…

Save me a seat and a mug. I am going to be a little late this morning as I am currently running a local 5K race. Hopefully, I did not make the mistake of bolting out of the start too quickly and then totally dying on the hilly 3rd mile. It’s an early race and coffee will be needed afterwards for sure.

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you…

I am excited that my daughter is coming home for fall break this weekend. It will be so nice to have the whole family together even if it is only for a weekend.

If we were having coffee today, I would tell you…

I am really looking forward to having a few weekends away this month. I will be tagging along with the hubs to a party at a resort outside of Atlanta. We have not had a weekend alone together in a while so, as long as there are no tropical storms that weekend should be a wonderful little escape. Trying to figure out what to wear the “Denim and Diamonds” themed party. Any ideas? When I googled it this old Britney and Justin pic came up. Too funny!

October Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you….

I need to start running some hills! Ragnar Napa Valley is quickly approaching on November 2. I hear it’s rather hilly! We are meeting this weekend to finalize all of our plans.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Is Denim & Diamonds a country themed thing? Color me clueless! It’ll be fun to get away. My hubby tried hard to get me to an event he has at Pebble Beach this month, alas, it did not work out. Can’t wait to hear about your 5k! It’s been almost a year since I last ran one.

I have no idea if it’s a southern thing or not! I’ve never heard of it until now. It was fun to do a local no stress 5K. I had not done one in a while either. I was pretty happy to see my pace slowly decreasing again after such a sucky summer of running

And about that picture of Britney and Justin, couldn’t he afford to have his jacket sleeves shortened? It must have been early in his career. LOL

I’m anxiously awaiting fall break for my college boy too! It’s always a treat to have all the chicks under one roof even if for a short time.

How was the 5k? Did you kick butt? Or at least kick that hills butt?

Ragnar Napa sounds like my kind of Ragnar!! #fortheloveofwine

Oh, how I love weekend getaways with the hubby. Have a great time and I can’t wait to see how you dress for ‘denim and diamonds’!!

    Thanks for the linkup!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/07/2017 at 4:48 pm

yes it sure is nice to have them all home together! The 5K was good. I would not say I kicked butt however, I do see some improvements from just a few weeks ago so that’s a win in my book.

I have to imagine that Ragnar Napa will be lovely. Not that I’m planning on trying a Ragnar anytime soon, but that just seems like a great location (even if I don’t drink).

Enjoy your getaways! Sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe a denim skirt (or jean jacket)?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/08/2017 at 7:36 am

I am not much of a drinker myself but I am excited to run there with the girls. Never say never say never on the Ragnar, it’s quite the experience

oh, Ragnar Napa Valley! That sounds so fun! Hopefully the fires will have subsided by then. A friend of mine is there now and a lot of the wineries are closed, as well as power outages and road closures 🙁

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/10/2017 at 6:57 am

I saw that! I hope everyone is safe out there and it clears up soon

    10/10/2017 at 6:33 am

I hope you had a great 5K! Unfortunately I’m no fashionista so I have no idea what you should wear to your party – that Britney/Justin pic really takes me back, LOL!

I didn’t realize you were running Ragnar Napa Valley, I am so envious! I bet you have a wonderful time 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/10/2017 at 7:09 am

Yes we are a little worried about all the fires out there right now so hopefully it will all clear up quickly

  30. Lesley says

    10/10/2017 at 8:56 am

I’d love to go back to Napa, but I’m not sure I’d get much running done. I didn’t get anything in when I was there a couple years ago. I was enjoying just being on vacation and enjoying the wine.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/10/2017 at 11:18 am

      Well yes there’s that 🙂

  31. Clarinda says

    10/10/2017 at 11:22 am

You know a few of us have talked about a Ragnar and this one in Nappa Valley has entered our radar! I do hope it will pan out.
I miss having coffee with yall, at this point it’s all I can do to get one post out. I sure do hope that changes.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/11/2017 at 10:40 am

All of the fires out there in Napa are so scary not sure if it’s actually going to happen now. If you ladies ever decide to do a Napa I’d love to be on the team!
