Happy Wednesday! I’ve been sticking to my new higher volume workout plan the last few weeks pretty well. I’ve done all the runs, bike rides, swims and strength training sessions on my plan. Where I have been slacking lately is in my yoga practice. I’ve written before about how much I benefit from attending yoga classes and how amazing I feel afterwards however, I am having a hard time fitting everything in. Sadly, the first thing to go for me is the yoga class. There are only so many hours in a day right? When I was offered a chance to try out the Beachbody on Demand program, I jumped right on it. Here’s how I’ve been finding a way to make time for yoga at home.
Yoga at home
I had heard of Beachbody before and I’ve even done a few of their workouts many years ago. I was surprised to learn they had their entire library of workouts available on demand for home use. Could this be exactly what I needed to get yoga back into my week? Let’s face it, I don’t always have time for an hour of yoga but I do have time for a few shorter sessions.
Under the yoga section there are options for practice varying from 10 minutes to an hour. I found a “post cardio stretch” class that is 12 minutes. Perfect! We all have 12 minutes right? I’ve been using this routine is an easy way for me to cool down after a run or a bike ride right at home. I am familiar with all of the moves and the routines are easy to follow.
Depending on how much time I have, I like to layer a few different classes together to get just the right mix. The “post cardio stretch” class is a wonderful compliment to the “yoga abs” or “core strength” classes. I love that I literally have access to thousands of classes on demand to choose from. Classes can be streamed at any time of the day that works for you.
There a few advanced pose classes that I’d like to eventually tackle. I get nervous about trying some of them in a studio class because I think I will just fall right onto my head. Perhaps I can manage to be a little more brave in the comfort of my own home. If you’d like to check out Beachbody on demand for yourself, you can take advantage of the 30 day free trial. That gives you access to P90-X, Insanity, 21 day fix and hundreds more. The yoga classes I’ve been doing are part of the 3 week yoga retreat.
Do you do any on demand class when you don’t have time to hit the gym? Have any Beachbody favorite classes to share with me?
I was given free access to the Beachbody on demand library for the purpose of a fair review. All opinions are my own.

Interesting, I will have to look into this! I have been using Jasyoga which is similar in that you can select which workout you want to do and there are alot of shorter options. I think it would be nice to change it up a bit now that I have done just about all the classes they offer!
I was surprised by how many classes they had available
I would love something like this, but the dog makes it impossible! I think we have some of the Beachbody classes on demand at the gym. I should try it there.
I can just picture here jumping around on you while you try to do it
I’ve been using the Yoga for Runners DVD from Runner’s World. There are a few different workouts on the DVD that I have been doing for the past few weeks. I would definitely like to try out the Beachbody Yoga workout!
I have that DVD as well somewhere but I like the option of having so many classes at my disposal of all different levels.
So fun! I have a few YouTube yoga videos that I turn to when I can’t make it to class. But I feel lost without my yoga!
I do too but it’s hard to fit it all in some days isn’t it?!
I’ve been doing jasyoga lately (I also have plenty of yoga DVDs). It’s just more time efficient for me to work out at home.
Jasyoga has videos from 5 minutes to 40 or so, and there’s a fair amount of variety. It’s only $4.99/month, which is pretty reasonable. I have no affiliation with them, just a happy customer!
I have not tried that one but a few people mentioned it so I will check it out as well.
Love this! I bet those 12 minutes made a big difference too! I’ll have to look into this.
12 minutes absolutely makes a huge difference
This sounds great. I try to do one yoga class a week at the gym but like you said, it can be hard to hit everything in. You are doing an incredible amount of training!
I am doing a lot of training right now but finding time for yoga really helps me and I hope I can continue to do it
It’s hard to fit it all in, isn’t it? Yoga seems to be the first to go in my life too. I really need to get back into my home practice. Thanks for the reminder!
I have to remind myself!
I have such a hard time exercising on my own at home, but I really need to incorporate this more!
It’s a great option for me to squeeze it in at night or whenever I have time
Believe it or not, I have never scrolled through my On Demand to find fitness classes but it’s a great idea!!!
There is a huge variety in there!
You know now that I have gone to the yoga studio for a couple of years now I might feel more comfortable trying some of the videos at home. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely check it out!
I love having the option to do it at home if I need to fit it in a quickie 🙂
I never have done beach body on demand. I have insanity but hate doing it! I have always wanted to do that Ployo workout.
I am not a fan of insanity either too much jumping for me.I will be hitting up some of the PiYo classes next
My bff has recently started Beachbody on demand! We don’t have internet here so we don’t have access to on demand or I would give it a try. I need to do more yoga at home since classes are 30 minutes away!
yes that would make it a huge time commitment for sure
Fantastic! I admit, yoga and strength are the first thing to go for me, too. But since I’m refusing to give up strength this time around, it’s been yoga. I need something to keep things interesting so this could be for me. Thanks!
There are literally hundreds of classes and I like that
I had no idea Beachbody offered yoga. When I’m looking for something to do at home, I typically hit up Youtube.
I did not know either! I was surprised that they had so many to choose from
I’ve never tried the beach body on demand program, but it sounds pretty cool. I do have a copy of the dirty dancing official workout dvd, which is as hilarious as it sounds, but is my favorite thing to do at home!
Ha ha that does sound silly and fun!
I love doing some light yoga stretches before bed time, helps clear my mind!!
definitely!
P90X was my intro to yoga (several years ago). I loved the entire program, and the yoga was very helpful in getting some of my parts unstuck LOL
I really have enjoyed the classes I’ve done so far
Sounds like a great home practice! Such a good way of finding the time to sneak some yoga in!
Definitely!
I do all my yoga at home. YouTube is my best friend. 😀
Oh great it’s wonderful when you can find something that works for you
These on demand classes sound fantastic! I like browsing YouTube for short videos I can do at home 🙂
Yes definitely great to have a whole library at our disposal
I don’t love home workouts. And I don’t do any on demand. I have yet to find a yoga program that I enjoy doing outside of the studio. :/
Of course it’s not the same as a studio but I think it’s a great option
I love Beachbody on Demand! It’s wonderful if you can only workout at home. There are so many great programs available. I’m currently loving Core de Force but also really like 21 Day Fix. I really do need to do the Yoga program though too.
I do want to try some of the other classes as well!
Great post! I like to use BOD every now and then also. The yoga workout included with 21 Day Fix Extreme is pretty good! It’s perfect for an active rest day.
I will have to try that one next!
I’ve been doing yoga at home (using DVD’s) about four times a week for the past year. Granted, I don’t have the variety of workouts available at my fingertips that I’d have using on demand, but the DVD’s I have each have several different routines on them. I also appreciate that the routines are a mostly about 25-30 minutes long, with some as short as 7 minutes and some as long as an hour. I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you. It’s so easy to give something up, even if we love it, when there’s a time crunch.
Yes I do love having the option of the shorter classes available. Every little bit helps doesn’t it!
This sounds great! I used to do yoga on demand but now I have a local studio nearby. I was so upset that class was cancelled due to the snow! This is definitely a great substitute!
I have a studio I love as well but I can’t always make it there or I am sometimes too tired for a whole hour long class. I like the in home option
I love the idea of putting a couple of shorter videos together. Its a great way to create unique workouts that are specifically tailored to the individual.
Exactly! I was happy to find such a great selection
Yoga is my favorite exercise. I try to get some in every day.
Ah I need to do it more often for sure
I definitely need to make more time for yoga. I often find I do more yoga in Autumn/Winter as the weather is miserable and I can’t get out for a walk – but I need to do it year round!
It is really fabulous to have an at home option for days like that
As a yoga lover, I completely agree with you, Deborah! When you really love something, you can find time!
Yes you definitely can even if it is just a few minutes!
