Loving Lately October Edition

Happy Friday! I sort feel like I fell into an abyss the last week or so with our move to our new home. I am finally coming up for air and realizing that it is mid-October. The perfect time for a little Friday Loving Lately October post.

Here’s what I’m Loving Lately…

The view from my new kitchen is so peaceful and sunny. I had to move away all the boxes just to get this picture but it was worth it. I do love my breakfasts and I am going to enjoy eating them with this view.

Fall racing

I am loving the weather! It’s finally cooled down and fall is in the air. This weekend we (my MRTT friends and I) are road tripping it up to Hershey park for the Hershey Half this Sunday. I was really stressing about not being prepared and I was able to switch to the relay. Whew! So I guess I am now doing a half of a half LOl. Looking forward to a fun weekend of friends, running and chocolate. Does not get better than that!

Fresh ground coffee

My friend, Jenny, gave me the most delicious freshly roasted coffee from Vigilante as a house warming gift. I do not usually take the time to treat myself to freshly ground coffee but I think I am going to have to more often. Wow so good!

Fall Foods

How delicious are all the smells of fall? Cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice are some of my faves and I am loving adding them to so many yummy dishes. Pumpkins, squash, apples and pears oh my. I have signed up for my first CSA share starting in a few weeks and I am looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new veggies. In case you missed my cinnamon raisin pumpkin challah French Toast bake the other day, check it out here.

Soup Club

Our Soup Club is about to start again and I can’t wait! We started last fall with 10 friends and it was a big hit. Basically works like a cookie swap with soup. More on that to come soon. The crock pot will be a permanent fixture for the next few months.

That’s what I’m Loving Lately. How about you, tell me what are you loving lately about fall?

We had one morning this week in the 60’s and I smiled for 2 days! Good luck with the Hersey half- the relay sounds like a lot of fun- no pressure, you got this! Enjoy setting up the new house- that is a lot of work!

What a fun post. I’ve been loving the slightly cooler running weather too. It’s been a lot easier. Also loving fresh pumpkin! So good. Hope you have a good weekend and glad you are enjoying your new house.

I love fall racing. The weather, the colors and the selection of races.

I wish I had a soup club to join. I love soups!!

I am loving that my recent half marathon was a PR.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/14/2016 at 8:05 am

Congrats on your PR! You might have to start your own soup club

There’s nothing like a room with a view! I actually eat most of my meals on our couch because it’s across from our bay window!

Enjoy Hershey! At one time I thought I’d do that half, but then I did Gettysburg. So many races, so little time . . .

Not fall where I am right now. But boy will it be when I get back home!

Thats a great idea for Hershey! I live pretty close (NJ) and always see it but am intimidated by the idea of the hills associated with it. I may have to get my BRF to sign up for the relay with me at some point instead, that sounds much more do-able 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/14/2016 at 11:58 am

I am probably way under prepared for the hills too!
