Currently….

Celebrating…Today is my son’s High School graduation day. So incredibly proud of him and all he has accomplished in school and on the lacrosse field this season. Will be trying so hard not to cry too much today during the ceremony and our celebration. This picture is from the convocation Wednesday. Stay tuned for more.

Currently

Watching…A little late to the game but just started watching “The Affair” on Showtime. I am only a few episodes in but already hooked. Anyone else watching.

Currently

Planting…I am so not a green thumb at all but trying to grow my own tomatoes. Taking baby steps and starting off with a small potted plant. Little tomatoes are starting to flourish-stay tuned.

currently

Reading…I’ve fallen off the reading habit the past few months as I’ve just been too tired at night. One of my running group friends wrote a fun mystery book and I plan to bring it away with me on my trip.

Loving…Sundress weather! While I don’t love running in the heat of summer, I love being able to throw on a comfy sundress. Easy and carefree. Just like the one I am wearing above.

Traveling…We are leaving on a graduation celebration trip with the extended family to Italy tomorrow. Stay tuned for details on my adventures. I plan on enjoying lots of pasta and gelato over the next week. 🙂

~Ciao!

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Oh yum! Have a fabulous trip! Absolutely enjoy the food, you’ll be burning off lots of calories touring anyway.

I love just throwing on a dress in summer, too. Except I seem to always be in skirt sports (which isn’t bad either).

I always do cherry and/or roma tomatoes. They’re a little easier & I actually prefer them. I’m a long way from picking one, though!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/09/2018 at 11:30 am

Thanks really excited about our trip and the tomatoes!

Congrats to your son (and to you, mama!) What’s next for him? I love the dress you’re wearing in that photo. Along with waterproof mascara, I assume…

I haven’t heard of that show, but now that we’ve cut the cable, I’ll have to wait for it to come out on Netflix.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/09/2018 at 11:31 am

Thanks and yes I was glad that I had the waterproof mascara on. It is on Netflix!

Congrats to your son. You look amazing in that dress btw 😉 As for the affair, i totally got hooked on that one last summer. Season 1 and 2 were great. I didn’t watch S3 . It was too boring. You’re going to Italy?! Well that’s so exciting. Italy is beautiful. Make sure you visit Milano and Torino. And don’t forget to pack yourself with Grana Padano cheese 😉

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/12/2018 at 2:55 pm

First of all, congrats to your entire family on your son’s graduation. My school was walking into Constitution Hall as your son’s school was walking out. There was definitely a lot of excitement downtown on Friday.

Secondly, I’m with you on sundress weather. Its one of the many reasons why summer is my favorite season of the year.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/12/2018 at 3:10 pm

It was crazy down there at Const Hall! Thanks!

  27. Denise says

We are watching the affair. It is good but irritating. I wanna shout “REALLY???” so many times!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/12/2018 at 3:15 pm

I have not gotten to that point yet!
