After a 3 week hiatus from the Weekly Wrap due to travel, I am thrilled to back! Having had such a rough summer of running, I was worried about what fall would bring. These past few weeks have brought cooler temps and with them I’ve found my stride again. I’ve fallen back in love with running and have been able to increase my mileage quite a bit. Knock on wood! The picture perfect fall scenery doesn’t hurt either.
Falling In Love With Running Weekly Wrap
Monday- 30 min elliptical + 60 min strength training
Tough wakeup after returning home from San Francisco the night before. Time changes are a killer for me.
Tuesday- 8 mile run
Perfect temps and fabulous company. I was excited to be back with my running group and got in my longest run in while with a tempo finish. Legs a bit tired and sore that night after Monday’s squats.
Wednesday- 1 mile treadmill run + 90 minutes kickboxing and strength training
Funny how just missing a week of strength training makes a huge difference. My arms were so sore the rest of the week.
Thursday-7 mile run
Another brisk fall morning provided the perfect opportunity for a second long run of the week. One of my running partners is training for the Dopey race in January and we are trying to support her by upping our mid week runs. That race really does sound “Dopey”!
Friday-planned rest day
After 3 weeks of traveling on the weekends, I had a ton of errands to do. Got my hair colored and cut and headed out for a Girls night out. My birthday is Tuesday but why wait until then to celebrate? I am all about multiple birthday celebrations.
Saturday-rest day
I cannot remember the last time I took 2 days off back to back. I slept in and made breakfast for my son and I. I hope the extra race day will pay off on Sunday’s 10K race.
Sunday- Veteran’s Day 10K race
Hoping the cooler temps and flat course will be a great combo for me today. Stay tuned! Busy day ahead with our November Soup Club swap today. Check the link to see how to start your own soup club. Today’s soup a Mushroom Lentil Barley.
That’s a wrap! Tell me is this weather having you falling in love with running too?
Hope you will check back in tomorrow for Meatless Monday. On the menu: Creamy Lemon Tahini Kale Salad with Spicy Chick Pea Croutons.

Ive been loving the fall scenery too! But the temps dropped a bit too much for my liking. I do find that I run faster in the cold weather, so thats a plus!
Deborah Brooks says
They dropped really quickly this weekend but looks like we should rebound this week a bit
Julie @ Running in a Skirt says

A soup club sounds like an awesome idea! What a fun way to get together with friends ๐

I had a pretty good race thanks! The soup club is so much fun we all love it

I’m laughing because I have the exact opposite feelings about our fall weather. No! It’s been really cold and today is rainy. It would be nice to ease into fall, but we were slammed into some really cold air. What can I say? I’m glad your weather is so temperate. I think it’s supposed to moderate this week. Fingers crossed.
Deborah Brooks says
So we had a real cold snap the last few days and it was 30 at the race this morning. That is really January temps for us. Fortunately it helped me run faster. I think we are going to warm back up this week to the 50’s which is more my taste for running.
Akaleistar says
Hope your race went well! There’s something special about running in the fall ๐
Deborah Brooks says
It did go pretty well thanks!

You’re such a tease! Worse than me. ๐
I tend to do really, really well at this time of year & crowd my schedule with races. But I will admit, this weekend was super busy and kind of exhausting!
Deborah Brooks says
I am crowding my schedule with races too it keeps me motivated so why not?! Today’s went really well not exciting enough for a whole post about but I do love running into that part of DC.
Kim G says
Oh yes! This weather has been amazing and I’m loving it. Although it did get rather cold here this weekend (real feel around 12 degrees), I’m not complaining! I’ll take this over heat and humidity any day ๐
Deborah Brooks says
I agree! It was a little chillier than usual for today’s race but way better than heat for me
Coco says
Wow, that is a lot of miles this week! Fall running is fantastic! Have you heard about the napa wineries open for business and aching for tourists? ;-/
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I am happy to be running more miles again and feeling good about it. Yes I did hear about the wineries but don’t think I will be going back until next year unfortunately

Happy Birthday. I agree with spreading out the celebration as far as you can! ๐ My running is starting to “click” too. The nicer weather sure does help, although we don’t have pretty colors yet like you do. Thanks for linking.

Let’s soak it all in while we can!
