Next to having the right pair of shoes, having the right sports bra can make a break a run. Not only is a supportive sports bra good for your breast health, but it can also impact your performance. Many women report not feeling supported while exercising dissuades them from taking up sports such as running.
Not sure where to start? I’ve tested out all of these sports bras personally and can attest to their quality and performance. A few of my favorites from previous years were discontinued and I was on a mission to find the best replacements. Here are my top picks.
2022 Sports Bra picks for runners
Brooks Dare Seamless Racerback 2.0
Great for B and C cup runners. This updated style has adjustable straps, seamless contours, and molded cups that hold you in.
I love this bra because it is so easy to put on and take off. With an over the shoulder adjustable strap it is easy to find a perfect fit. Great support and shape from molded cups for bounce free running. One of my favorites.
Another new favorite for this season. The Phenomena bra available in 4 colors offers maximum support for runners. X-Back style straps in a pull-over style with molded cups that also shape without squishing. Adjustable straps, very comfortable.
New to me this year and a little bit of a splurge but so worth it if you have trouble find a bra that works for you. Currenty available in 12+ colors. This Knix bra boasts “Designed to drastically reduce breast movement, the Catalyst outperformed over 800 bras it was tested against. Get comfortable performing your best, with sizes up to 42F”. I would agree this is the most supportive bra I have ever worn running. It is easy to get on and off, feels fantastic, and looks great too.
Whether you wear a smaller size or a larger size, it is important to support your breasts while running and doing cardio. These are my top picks for 2022 sports bras that offer the most support and comfort. This post contains affiliate links.

I like that you have personally tested them and can give your honest opinion, Deborah. These bras all look great!
I have never heard of the Knix brand. They make a bold statement but it seems to be a sturdy bra. I like that they used a model that needs strong support – definitely makes it more real for potential clients.

Yes, I always try out anything before reviewing. A few great sports bras are essential

I’ve switched to all Brooks bras over the last few years. Before that most of my sports bras were really cheap ones from Target. I really like the 3 pocket run bra. The dare racerback we just got is a little tight so Im not sure if it going to work for me.
Deborah Brooks says
Agreed the sizing on that one was a little off. No matter your size, it is important to wear a supportive sports bra

No support needed here. lol
I do like comfortable one – my favorite is by Handful.
Though I do not needed support, I do like padding and hate shirts with built-in bras. (not a fan of headlights).
Deborah Brooks says
I also do not like built in bras and like a little padding as well for coverage

I’m going to checkout that Phenomena bra! I like the cross-back straps. I have a few running bras that definitely need retiring, so this post was quite timely 😉

It is one of my new favorites!

As you know from the great I-forgot-a-running-bra incident on vacation, I don’t need a ton of support. But I know many ladies will appreciate your research, Deborah!
Deborah Brooks says
ha yes but it is always good to support the girls so they maintain elasticity and for comfort

You included some “new to me” brands so I will definitely check them out. Thanks!

They are all good choices!

Thanks for sharing your insights Deborah. The number one cause of chafing on my back the last couple of years has been my bras so I just want a complete overhaul even if it means splurging a bit.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes, a good sports bra is essential! Chafing is no fun.

I’ve been pretty much living in Lululemon Energy bras lately, but I feel like I’d like that Athleta bra!
Deborah Brooks says
I thought the lulu bra was a little hard to get off and on. I am really liking the Athleta bra the most right now
