Yes you read that right! Mondays really get a bad rap. Each and every week, countless people complain about them. I am here to convince you that Mondays aren’t so bad. In fact, there are lots of reasons why you should love Mondays.
Why You Should Love Mondays
Monday is a great day to “reset”
Have a little too much fun last weekend? Maybe slept in and skipped your workout? Enjoyed a little too much pizza and beer with your friends? We’ve all been there. It’s Monday’s job to come around each week and remind you that it’s a great day to reset. A whole new week for a fresh start.
Mondays are for Mini-Goals
It’s great to have resolutions and monthly goals but sometimes those can be overwhelming. Each Monday, I set a mini goal of something I want to achieve that week. Mini goals are super simple and achievable. Something that you can feel good about on Friday. For example, make it to yoga once this week or bring lunch to work etc.
Meal Plan Monday
So everyone is all about their Sunday #mealprep on insta. Maybe Sundays are too busy for you or frankly you just don’t feel like it. No prob! Monday is a great day to meal plan. While I do like to do some prep, I have never been able to plan out a whole week of meals. I plan 2 days at a time.
Mondays are for routines
In reality, Mondays are made for routines. The kids are back at school. Moms and dads are back at work and parenting routines. Being in your regular routine, can make keeping up with healthy routines easier. Run the day or the day runs you.
Coffee tastes the best on Mondays
We may need an extra cup of motivation on Mondays and that’s okay. We got this! New week, new goals.
Tell me-What’s your Motivation Monday? Mondays-love them or hate them?

I don’t mind Mondays since they are fresh start to the week- its actually Tuesdays that I find to be challenging! As long as I spend some time over the weekend preparing for the week ahead, then the beginning of the week isn’t too bad. Its weekends that I travel and don’t get enough sleep that make me really thrown off on Mondays.
Deborah Brooks says
I agree that weekends are what throw me off!
Wendy says
I’ve never liked Mondays, but now that I don’t work in the morning on Mondays, they are so much easier for me to take!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes I imagine that does help!
Toni says
Mondays are my day to reset for sure and for me they are usually a rest day. Mondays arent soooo bad.
Deborah Brooks says
I agree! A great day to reset
Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says
I don’t find Mondays are any different than any other day of the week. I have never had a Mon-Fri work schedule. Coffee taste good any day of the week!
Deborah Brooks says
It sure does!
Coco says
LOL. I don’t have a thing against Mondays. It helps that I like my job I guess. I’m usually ready to get back to my healthier eating after weekend indulging!
Deborah Brooks says
yes it’s the weekends that do me in
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Since I don’t work & don’t have kids, Mondays are kind of neither here nor there for me. And shhhh! I kind of like them because Mr. Judy goes back to work and I get my nice quiet house back, although don’t tell him I told you that.
Seriously, I’m not sure what I’m gonna do when he retires. Which isn’t that many years away!
Deborah Brooks says
Oh right there with you on all of the above!
Kimberly Hatting says
Well, this is a breath of fresh air 😉 Mondays get such a bad deal being the day we all have to get back to life (after “relaxing” over the weekend). Thanks for the smile 😉
Deborah Brooks says
Anytime! 🙂 Have a great day

Since I work weekends, nights, and holidays, the specific day of the week means little to me. Every day is a new day!
Deborah Brooks says
Good point! Not everyone is on the same schedule
Jennifer @ Fit Nana says
I actually love Mondays for quite a few of those reasons! It’s the start of a fresh new week and anything can happen! I especially appreciate that “mini-goal” idea. That’s such a great way to look at life and get motivated! I also love crossing things off my to-do list on Mondays. Makes me feel so accomplished and prepared for the rest of the week. haha!
Deborah Brooks says
Oh yes I am a bit to do list maker as well!

For some reason, I am always running around on Sundays trying to get things done
Ana says
I like Mondays, I’m just not a huge fan of Monday at 6 am.

Deborah Brooks says
Well I did not say I loved 6 am!!

I agree Mondays are great for getting back to routine. I also do a lot of planning for the week on Monday – I think a cup of coffee and my planner is a great way to start the week 😉

I don’t mind Monday’s either actually. I am usually refreshed from the weekend and ready to get started with my weekly & goals. I usually set weekly goals and enjoy doing that Monday morning as part of my ritual.
Deborah Brooks says
Yes me too and find it really helpful
Jenn says
Mondays are fine. I struggle with Sundays and Tuesdays. I don’t know why. I feel like Monday lulls me into a false sense of security.
Deborah Brooks says
ha interesting! Sundays I feel like I run around a lot trying to shop and prep and do laundry
Natalie says
I have absolutely nothing against Mondays 😀 Actually I love Mondays. I’m always super productive on Monday, it’s like fresh start each week and great day for making serious decisions.
Deborah Brooks says

I love this! Because I love Mondays too. I think it’s all about your mindset. Just being grateful that you get to wake up and experience another day should put you in a good mood. It’s all about how you choose to take on the day!
And I really love the idea of Monday being a clean slate every week!

I love Mondays! I don’t teach piano lessons after work on Mondays, so it is a day I get to go home right after work and just relax. I am also very productive on Mondays due to having the weekend to recharge.
