About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yes! I totally agree, and I’m doubling down on a couple things I’ve been neglecting lately, like sleep and healthier eating. I always feel like September is a good starting point. And like you said- it’s good to get into some healthy routines now, before the madness of the holidays takes over.

    Yes. Great ideas.

With cooler temps this is the time to get outdoors.

Having a routine helps a lot.

I agree, it’s a great time to recharge! The cooler temps are more enticing (for most people 😂).

Absolutely on the crisp air. Makes it so much nicer to be outdoors. And yes yes on the routine. Makes it easier to focus on yourself

I totally agree. Fall is the best season for fitness.
In this season I also enter many races.

Most of these hold true for us but the meals. We are constantly fending for ourselves or eating on the go. We figure it out, but it’s definitely not regular or easy to schedule.

Perhaps things will calm down for you all as the school year goes on

I really like that idea of starting a new habit before New Year arrives. If you start in October, you are all set for getting through the holidays without too much “damage” and you’re already in full swing by January.

I love that autumn photo with the little bridge! Is it in your neighbourhood?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/16/2024 at 8:38 am

Yes it’s a great time to start a new habit or reinforce one. The bridge is my backyard 🙂

It’s such a great time of year to get outside! And this is definitely a good time to start some good routines before the business of the holidays starts up.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/16/2024 at 8:39 am

yes it’s the perfect time to implement habit

  9. Debbie says

I am so grateful that we’re finally having fall weather. I do feel energized! While this time of year is generally busier for me personally and at work, I am still excited about getting out there and hopefully, feel the improvement of pushing through the summer.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      10/16/2024 at 8:39 am

Yes, I usually feel my best this time of the year as well

  10. Jenn says

It was in the 50s this morning and I wanted to weep with joy. It feels so good.

Our fall starts when holidays start ramping up, so that makes things a little more challenging as far as no pressure, but I feel more motivated, for sure.

I saw your pic with you in long sleeves! Enjoy it 🙂
