thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. I’ve been “on Island” as they like to say in Nantucket, Massachusetts or where I like to say, It’s always summer. I know it’s not really always summer but it seems that way to me! Since I don’t have gym access this week, I planned to take a down week and enjoy having nothing planned.
Where its always summer
Sunday-3.5 mile beach walk + Pilates core + stretch
Our first full day on island called for a morning beach walk. The ocean has claimed down and it was nice to walk along on the quiet morning. We sat out at the pool and then walked around town for a bit.
Monday-3.5 mile walk + core
Today we took a nice scenic walk from the center of Sconset to the lighthouse. I kind of have a thing for lighthouses and love to visit them here. I relaxed with my kindle reading in the afternoon.
Tuesday-morning beach walk
what did I do today? I know I took a nice morning walk on the beach and then who knows!
Wednesday -walk around town
The husbands went out fishing today and my friend and I walked all around town for hours. We hit a few coffee shops and all the fun boutiques as well as the waterfront. One of my favorite Nantucket authors, Elin Hildebrand, was doing a book signing in town ahead of her newest release. She also just came out with these cute sweatshirts to go along with them. Despite not doing any “real” exercise, I did manage to hit about my step goals today.
Thursday-morning beach walk + core
It’s been gorgeous this whole week and another morning beach walk was just what I craved.
Friday-Peloton barre + core + lots of walking
I started my morning with some barre and core classes out by the pool. Later, it was a chill day of walking around town and taking in the New England vibes.
Saturday-fly home
After a fabulous, relaxing week in Nantucket it was time to come home.
That looks like a beautiful place to relax, and that beach looks fantastic for walking, especially with that lovely hazy light in the first photo. Sometimes it’s good to have a cutback week! Except I enjoyed the fun of a push-up challenge and randomly finding an outdoor gym, I quite enjoyed focusing on walking and hiking during my time away.
yes it is good to have a cut back week and I’ve come back ready to hit it hard this week
Omg you saw Elin Hildebrand IN Nantucket and got a book signed? that’s amazing!! did you know she was going to be there before your trip? so amazing!
nice job this week and love the photos. I love Nantucket, Cape Cod, etc. and it looks like a truly lovely week.
so she is apparently at the book shop every Wednesday all summer doing signings. I saw her on our last visit a few years back. She is kind of the queen of Nantucket!
I went there many many years ago. It looks like a perfect place to go. Book signing sunsets beach time. Perfection.
It Is a fabulous little island to visit!
Sounds like a fabulous trip! I especially like the dress you’re wearing in the Friday picture with that beautiful sunset.
