Thanks for joining me and Kim for the Weekly Run Down. It was another busy week around here but I got it done. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and life.Where did this week go? Seriously, it flew by!

Where did this week go? Weekly Run Down

Sunday- 4 ish mile run + stretch

And today, it was summer. It was a gorgeous morning for running and catching up with friends. Always grateful for my squad.

Weekly run down

Monday-Peloton walk + lower body strength + cycle + core and stretch

I thought it would be a good idea to schedule 3 service people to the house in one day to avoid waiting around on multiple days. It was very hectic over here and a little bit of a disaster at times. I kind of pieced together my workouts with breaks to chat with each of them. Adrian continues to kick my butt literally with the glutes and legs program.

Tuesday- 4 mile run + stretch + foam roll

It was a gorgeous day for a run and we had a nice big group. Later, I went to Home Depot to get the supplies so that someone can fix the huge hole in my drywall that the plumber made on Monday. Does anyone else feel like the biggest idiot in Home Depot or it’s just me?

Weekly run down

Wednesday- Peloton walking + upper body strength + core + cycle + stretch

A little bit of everything today. I am trying to get my cycle class number up before I go to the Peloton studio (the mothership) next week so I can get a milestone shoutout.

Thursday-4 ish mile run/walk + stretch + core

I was not prepared for 75 degree temps on today’s run and ended up walking a bit more than usual. Allergies have been fierce and my head felt like it was going to explode. Other than that, great day 🙂

Weekly run down

Friday-Peloton walk + upper & lower body strength + core + yoga

Honestly, still sore from Wednesday’s workout but I stuck with my schedule. It was nice to do an extended stretch and yoga today. I never regret giving my body some extra recovery.

Weekly run down

Weekly run down

Saturday- 3 mile run + stretch

Today was our spring MRTT Welcome Run. It’s always so great to meet a few new members and catch up with old friends too. Ended up being a nice day all around. Later, we had dinner with my son and his girlfriend at a new Italian Restaurant.

Weekly run down

Seriously, where did this week go!? It just flew by! I’ve got some exciting things coming up this week that I am looking forward to.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yes you packed a lot into the week.

The mothership. That’s NYC, right? I guess I just missed you.

Your group is so successful. Love that.

Yes I’m going to NYC this coming weekend and will take a class at Peloton

Sometimes it’s nice to have a busy week like that! Glad you got a lot done. I went to Home Depot as well–I worked on some projects and needed supplies. Nothing like a hole in the wall, tho.

It’s great that your MRTT chapter continues to grow!

A hole in the wall is not good! Yes it is nice that our chapter is growing warms my heart ♥️

I feel like ALL of these weeks lately are flying by! I only go to the HD garden center. Other than that, its a no go. Sounds like you had a productive week!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2024 at 9:37 am

      It’s very overwhelming in there!

I’m lost in Home Depot, but I can usually find my way around after the third lap around the place. I spent 90 minutes, though, Friday after work, on a call with tech support for my internet service. My tv’s were not connecting (though they both showed as being connected on the app, etc.)…so, I’m off to go tv shopping later, after my race. That’ll be fun (not).

      04/21/2024 at 9:38 am

Ha 3 laps sounds about right! Tech support is always frustrating

Sounds like a great week! I only go to the garden center at Home Depot, otherwise I am dazed and confused — I think they do that on purpose. Sounds like maybe the plumber should have gone!

It is so overwhelming in there!

Those MRTT welcome runs are always so much fun. With my limited running these days I don’t get to join in on runs, but I do have a group of seven friends I met through MRTT that go out for dinner several times a year. Love them to pieces!

I love going to Home Depot and Lowes. I’m so happy my dad taught me how to fix things around the house. I’ve even repaired drywall after electricians had to make holes to install lights. I won’t attempt electrical or plumbing work though. I leave that to my husband or the experts.

Well next time I will just hire you to be my handyman

LOL, I’m not up for hire for handyman services. It’s all about being able to save money and the satisfaction of a job well done.

          04/21/2024 at 1:09 pm

Ha yes it does feel good to be able to fix things on your own!

Sounds like you do have a fun week coming up! And yes I agree with Coco- the plumber should have fixed his own hole in the wall!
You had a nice week of running with friends! I’m excited for your trip to the mothership next week.

I am excited for my trip to the mothership as well! Apparently, plumbers make the holes but don’t fix them.

Wow what a fun week you have planned! You get to go take a live class? That will be great! You’ve done that before, haven’t you? I love all the running with friends you do – one of these days, I’d like to start running with people again. For now, I fit my runs in mostly at 4 a.m. before school or sporadically between kiddo activities, and don’t know anyone else who wants to do that.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/21/2024 at 1:10 pm

Yeah meeting up at 4 am would not be appealing to many people! (Including me). Yes, I have taken an in studio class before and it is always a blast

The weeks certainly seem to fly by these days. You had a good varied week for sure. I love your colourful leggings!
    Enjoy the mothership trip!
I so recognise the situation after the plumber. Are they all like that? I once had the electrician and plumber here working at the same time, it was horrible, lol!

It seemed like a good idea to have multiple service people here but it was a mess!
