I am so excited to be guest hosting the weekly wrap this week! Thanks Tricia and Hoho for trusting me to take over the reins this week. I’ve really been enjoying participating in the link up the past few months and I am loving finding new fitness friends to connect with and support. Let’s get this link up started shall we?
Weekly Wrap Guest Hosting
After feeling sorry for myself and pouting around the past 2 weeks about my disappointing race, I am finally feeling back to myself and ready to move on. Thank you all again for the support. Let’s take a look at how this week went down.
Sunday-swim + 3 mile run
My son was home from summer camp for the weekend and got a rare photo of my kids together. He hates photos but got one!
Monday-1 mile run, 20 m elliptical, 60 m strength training
My trainer and I are going back to basics and doing some running form drills. Part of of new program has me running 1 mile right before I see him for our workouts. 10 min stretch
Tuesday- 4 mile run, 60 min hot yoga class
Another toasty humid run in the books!
Dinner out with my daughter and friends.
Wednesday- 90 min kickboxing and weights
I fell the first 3 times I tried to do this but finally nailed it.
Thursday- 3 mile run + afternoon of kayaking
My friend, Steph, and I took out some Kayaks onto the Potomac and had a lovely afternoon. It was so peaceful out there and fantastic to see DC from a whole other perspective.
Friday- 45 min spin bike + 60 min hot yoga
A rainy day meant no swim class for me. After missing yoga for a few weeks, it felt just amazing to make it to 2 classes this week. I feel so much better when I have yoga in my life. I need to keep it up.
Saturday- Rest day with some foam rolling.
Another rainy day and we went to see Dunkirk movie.
That’s my week! No cycling or swimming this past week. Definitely felt good to mix it up a bit. Look forward to reading all of your posts so link them up here. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you tomorrow for Meatless Monday and next Saturday for the Ultimate Coffee Date. We would love to have some new friends join the coffee date!
I always feel better when I have yoga in my life too. Isn’t that interesting?
I love that you kayaked in DC! This urban kayaking is a whole different adventure, isn’t it?
Yes! I really need to find a way to keep up the yoga. I can’t believe I don’t kayak more often so peaceful. Too many things to do so little time right?
Great week of workouts! I also feel like I need to get back to yoga. Where to find the time for that?
Glad to hear that you are back on track after your race. Hopefully the new training routine works for you. It’s always nice to get back to the basics.
Thanks for hosting the week! I was so excited to see your name listed 🙂
It is great to return to basics every once in a while. Yes it’s hard to find time to fit everything in but I am going to make a real effort on the yoga for sure
I am always amazed at how you are, and the variety! I have canoed but never kayaked…..what happens if it capsizes? YIKES!
I meant how ACTIVE you are LOL
Ok we don’t talk about capsizing around here!! LOL
Oh wow! That kayak adventure on the Potomac looks like great fun! We went to see Dunkirk as well …what did you think? Have you seen Hacksaw Ridge? I think I liked it much better than Dunkirk.
You have beautiful children! Thanks for hosting this week Deborah!
Thanks on the kiddos-I think I will keep them! I did not love Dunkirk as much as my hubs it was very loud and a little much for me
I was just telling my husband a few days ago that we should kayak along the Potomac like we did on the Chicago River. It was so fun!
Bill and I biked down your way today. I kept a weather eye out for you either running or biking. We didn’t leave the Route 28 parking lot until about 8:30 so by the time we got down your way, I’m sure you were finished with your workout and back home.
Thanks for guest hosting the linkup!
I just saw your biking photo how fun. We ran into Georgetown today it was a gorgeous day. Would love to meet somewhere halfway for a ride sometime.
Your kids are beautiful! That’s great that you were able to get a photo of both of them!
I love your yellow purse – perfect for the summer! 🙂
My daughter loves the camera, my son not so much! I think I will keep them both 🙂
I’m glad you are feeling better — still would love to chat with you! My son will be home next week for a few days (I hope). Can’t wait to see him and try not to grill him too much about his summer. 😉
That’s fun! Enjoy him and we can get together soon
No swimming for me this week, either. 🙁
The kayaking sounds fun. And how was the movie? I haven’t been to a movie in forever! Too busy getting outside most weekends.
It had been so long since we went to a movie as well but it was pouring buckets out! It was good but a little intense for me
Sounds like a great week and great mix of workouts! I feel better when I have some yoga in the mix too – I’ve gone too long without it!
Thanks for co-hosting!
I need to keep the yoga in I feel better too!
Great week of workouts! I love yoga and definitely don’t do enough of it. I also love kayaking. Your trip looks like fun! I wish I had somewhere close to go kayaking!
I can’t believe I don’t go kayaking more often it’s 15 in from my house! Thanks for linkingup
Yay for both kids home! And I love the new Lioness on you. Such awesome colors and patterns this season – I need to go shopping LOL.
I do love the more fall looking colors a lot! It’s going to be hard not to buy them all
I miss taking yoga classes. At home sessions are good, but not the same as being in a class. PS – I love the white shoes you are wearing at dinner with your daughter!
I agree yoga in a studio is just different and I like hot yoga classes so hard to do at home 🙂 Thanks on the shoes they are Franco Sarto mules very comfy
Last week I woke up achy and tired and felt like garbage. I pushed my run back and went to yoga. Came out of yoga feeling like a million bucks. Went for a run and felt amazing. Ahhh…the power of yoga! 🙂
It is amazing what a great yoga class can do for you mentally and physically
What a sweet photo of your son and daughter. I’m sure that you’re not so quickly counting down the days until she returns to college.
It goes by so fast!
My husband and FIL went to see Dunkirk. Did you like it? Hot mama you look great! How great to get a pic of the kids. That is no small feat!
I tried kayaking for the first time in Alaska! I had fun for about 15 minutes and then got tired of it. Don’t think I would do it again. 🙂
We really enjoyed it. I imagine if the water was rough it would be a lot harder
You had such a great week! lots of different activities and family time!! great balance!
Thank you for hosting the link up !
I do like to mix it up thanks
Anything on the Bosu would be a total challenge for me! I really need to work on one.
Looks like a great week! Kayaking sounds fun. I have not been out this summer at all.
You looked great all dolled for ladies night 🙂 It is nice to have some non-sweaty activity too 🙂
I do love my bosu workouts
I’ve never kayaked, but there is kayaking and SUPing where my parents live. The water source is melt off from the mountains, so I can only imagine how cold that water is. I wouldn’t want to fall in.
I am not a fan of cold water myself. It’s hard to fall out of the Kayak but the SUP definitely
Yay for hosting! Glad to see you’ve joined the weekly wrap crew 🙂 You had a great week of workouts! And you and your daughter look more like sisters than mother and daughter!
I liked you before but now that you say that I love you! LOL
What a beautiful view on the Potomac! I never knew there was such pretty scenery near DC. If there are trails there, I think I’d love running there! Nice that you were able to mix things up with your workouts this week!
I am not a trail runner but we do have lots of great trails around DC
Looks like a great week! The kayaking sounds so fun. You really got a lot of variety in your workouts this week.
I did! It was fun to mix it up a bit more than usual
The BOSU would challenge my balance for sure, but you look like a pro!
I did fall a few times before getting that move but it is so versatile I love it
I definitely need to get some yoga back in my life!
I have to find a way to keep it in!
Looks like a great week, Deborah! Sweet picture of your kids and, seriously, you and your daughter look like you could be sisters in that mother-daughter picture. You look amazing!!!
ha ha well thanks for making my Monday!
Sounds like a great week of workouts! Kayaking looks like so much fun. I can’t remember that last time I’ve gone. Have a great week!
I had not been in years it was so much fun
You pack so much into a week! I think I’d be exhausted. Definitely agree about feeling better with yoga in my life, but no hot yoga for me.
I do like to mix it up for sure
Great pic of you kicking on the BOSU! I would have fallen more times than you! That looks tough and my balance is horrible. How awesome to kayak on the Potomac! Looks fun!
It was a fun week of workouts over here!
Seems like you had an awesome and mixed up week! How do you enjoy (and how long have you had) a trainer? Thank you for being our guest host for the weekly wrap!
I did have a great week! I have had my trainer for 13 years! Crazy right? I love him and can’t imagine my life without him. That’s probably a whole post in itself
Yoga makes things so much better! I’ve been missing it the past two weeks because of schedule conflicts, but can’t wait to get back!
It really does make a huge difference. Hope we both get to the mat this week
Thank you so very much for being our host this week. I hope you had fun and found new connections. Kayaking on the Potomac sounds wonderful. You had a great week of mixing it up. I think we need that on occasion not only physically, but mentally too. Your daughter and son are beautiful and handsome! I agree that you look like sisters — not mother and daughter!
I loved hosting the WW and love the connections I am making each week. Ha thanks for the compliment
