Weekly Wrap College Move In

It’s been a crazy, busy week at our house lately. Did not want to miss my Weekly Wrap with Tricia & Hoho so just popping in with a short Weekly Wrap College Move In. I definitely did not get in my usual amount of traditional workouts this week but college move ins are exhausting in themselves. Here’s how my week played out.

Table of Contents

Toggle
  • Sunday- Picked up my son from camp
  • Monday- 1 mile run, 20 min elliptical, 60 min strength training
  • Tuesday-6 mile run in pouring rain
  • Wednesday- 1 mile run + 90 min strength training and kick boxing
  • Thursday- move into sorority house
  • Friday- 3 mile run + more move in
  • Saturday-walk around Nantucket

Sunday- Picked up my son from camp

Finally got my son home after he was away at summer camp for 7 weeks. He is not much into the blog photos so you get a picture of the delicious veggies and fruit from a local farmers market near his camp. My workout for that day was 7 weeks of teenage boy laundry.

Weekly Wrap College Move in

Monday- 1 mile run, 20 min elliptical, 60 min strength training

I was able to stay on my regular schedule but did not make it to yoga that day or any day this week unfortunately.

Tuesday-6 mile run in pouring rain

Woke up to some crazy rain but decided I needed to get a longer run done that day as I knew I would be traveling that week. Fortunately one of my MRTT friends joined me for 6 very soggy miles.

Wednesday- 1 mile run + 90 min strength training and kick boxing

I was determined not to miss my hard Wednesday Workout with m trainer. I fit i in and 2 hours later we were at the airport on our way back to Indiana to take my daughter back to school. This was the first year I headed out on my own to take her. It’s always so much more work than I think it will be. We arrived at our hotel late Wednesday night in Bloomington.

Thursday- move into sorority house

While not a formal workout, this move in was sure a sweatfest. Literally, the AC was not working on the side of the house she was on. Carrying things up and down to the 3rd floor was certainly a workout. 2 trips to Target and Bed Bath & Beyond later, we had most of her stuff in.

Friday- 3 mile run + more move in

I did manage to get a short run in and the headed back to do more organizing at the sorority house. There is a great running path right off campus that I like to run on. Short but sweet.

Weekly Wrap College Move in

My daughter is all moved in and happily ensconced in her house. She is right across from the library this year so no excuses right? Drove back to the airport and after a 4 hour delay made it back to my house late Friday night. I made it back just in time to unpack and repack because we were headed out Saturday morning for a little vacation in Nantucket, MA.

Saturday-walk around Nantucket

Arrived late morning and spent the day walking around town and getting the lay of the land. Look forward to doing some fun bike rides, kayaking, running and relaxing the next few days. Right now I am pretty exhausted from the past week. Dropping my baby is never easy but now I have my son home to spoil and spend some time with.

And that’s my Weekly Wrap College Move In-Hope you all have a great week.

Wow, you certainly did have a busy week! I would say that moving counts as both a strength and cardio workout. I hope you enjoy your time in Nantucket, MA!

We took our son “back” to his new school Thursday….I know how much work moving a college student can be (especially the daughters LOL). You did a great job of staying super active, though!!

You know I am always a little sad to see her go. We want them to grow up and be on their own but we don’t want to let them go. Wonder if it ever gets any easier? I do miss her on our vacation this week. I know you know how it feels too!

Busy week! But what a beautiful family you have! I say doing 7-weeks worth of laundry for a teenage boy definitely counts as an official workout! Lol x

      ha thanks me too!

7 weeks of teenage boy laundry is tougher than any typical workout! Uffda… that would be a full day. My little boys make a lot of laundry and I can’t imagine the teenage years yet 🙂 You have been super mom this week! Way to fit in your workouts with all of the other “real-life” workouts added in. Moving in/out is no joke!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/21/2017 at 4:03 pm

Don’t I know it on the laundry! Last week was a crazy week indeed

I didn’t have to do anything this year with the college kid. Since he is in an apartment (with 2 others) they were allowed to stay (or at least their stuff anyway) throughout the summer. Nantucket sounds wonderful. I’ve always wanted to visit that area. Sadly, the vacations are getting tougher for us to coordinate with the kids’ different schedules.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/21/2017 at 4:04 pm

The vacations are hard to coordinate with different school breaks. This time we only have my son with us

  16. Debbie @ Deb Runs says

    08/21/2017 at 5:52 pm

Seven weeks of teenage boy laundry sounds like a major workout – LOL!

Hope you’re having a blast in Nantucket! Enjoy!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/21/2017 at 9:31 pm

More laundry and smells than anyone needs! Yes Nantucket is beautiful thanks

I grew up in, and went to college in IN.

Oh I think I knew that! She is at IU in Bloomington. Where did you go?
