Setting Sail For Summer Fun

Sunday-45 min Full Body strength

I had a not great night of sleep but I knew that doing a strength class would make me feel better and it did. Later, my son and his girlfriend came over to hang by the pool and have dinner.

Monday-tread walk + upper body strength + core

While the official heat dome may have exited, it was still quite warm this morning so my power walk was on the treadmill, I restarted an older 3 day split from Peloton’s Andy which I had forgotten how hard it was! Today was upper body pull with lots of biceps and back work.

Tuesday-3 mile power walk + lower body strength + core

meeting a friend for a power walk at 9 am was not early enough to beat the crazy heat and humidity we had. In fact, the DC area had the highest humidity in the country today-not the kind of award I like. Later, I got in a great lower body strength and core workout.

Wednesday-Tread hiking class + upper body push + core

It was raining this morning so to the tread it was! I wanted to finish Andy’s 3 day split before leaving for vacation so I did 3 days in a row, This was tough since I was already sore from yesterday but glad to get it done. Later, it was packing and a mani pedi.

Thursday-3.5 m power walk + standing core + Pilates

I wanted to make sure I got some good steps in this morning before heading out to the airport for our evening flight. We did not get much sleep on the plane but it was worth it to wake up in Nice, France. We met up with our friends to set sail for summer fun.

Friday-tread walk

Quite jet lagged we met up with our friends and the repositioned the boat a bit. After a nap, I walked a bit on the tread to help with jet lag. It was weird to celebrate the 4th in another country but we did our best. I am truly grateful to be an American.

Saturday-touring around Cannes, France + upper body strength and tread walk

I hit the gym for a quick upper body strength and short tread walkI before heading out to tour around Cannes, France. We had a delicious lunch and perhaps one too many glasses of wine. When in Rome!

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Looks like an amazing getaway! Are you sleeping on the boat? I always struggle with sea legs.

I’ll have to look at Andy’s split.

France? My daughter will be in Nice on Monday!! She is in Ireland right now which is chilly. She is looking forward to some beach time. We made sure to go see fireworks before they left on their trip since she was going to be gone on the 4th also. Have a great trip!

Ykes, that is some serious humidity! Have a great holiday! Great to have a treadmill on the yacht! Our boat for Antarctica had one but it was impossible to run as the boat was rocking so much!
