Weekly Run Down

Weekly run down Opting Outside

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down. This week I set a mini goal to opt outside everyday for a walk or run. Our weather has been really warm so no excuses but it did get a little complicated.

Weekly Run Down Opting Outside

Sunday- 3 mile run

We got home very late last night as our flight was delayed. I was determined to get back on my regular run schedule so a short solo run it was. It did not go well and I am hoping it gets better this week.

Weekly run down opting outside

Monday-Peloton walk + core + Upper body strength + outdoor walk and stretch

I was motivated to get back to my normal routine today. Thought it would be fun to restart JJ’s split strength program for a challenge. It’s a tough one but I felt so good when I completed it in January. I had a nice outdoor walk with a friend in the afternoon.

Weekly run down

Tuesday- 4 mile run/walk + stretch

I am still having some serious side effects of the high dose statin meds I am on resulting in some major muscle soreness. This is making running a little more challenging than I expected but I am doing my best with run/walk intervals. Thankfully, it was another gorgeous day to opt outside.

Weekly run down

Wednesday- unscheduled rest day

well, if my last month has not been crappy enough, I woke up feeling like a truck hit me. After 3.5 years and 5 vaccines, Covid finally found me. I thought I was immune at this point. My symptoms are not too bad so far but seriously 2023?!

Thursday- 3 mile walk + barre and stretch

I was determined to keep up my opting outside intention. My symptoms continue to be very mild with just a sore throat. With temps in the 80’s, I was happy to get out for a walk. No photos because I look like crap.

Friday- 3 mile walk + core + stretch

Feeling a lot better but not quite up for weights or cycling yet. I took advantage of our mid 80’s weather and continued opting outside with a 3 mile walk. I reorganized some cabinets and watched a ridiculous amount of tv. Definitely getting bored!

Saturday- 3 mile walk + core + barre + stretch

I woke up feeling significantly better today and even made myself get dressed in normal clothes. I went for a walk with the Peloton outdoor classes and came home to do some core and stretch. I cleaned out my shorts shelf and t shirt drawer.

Opting outside

Current mindset: If nothing seems to be going right, go left. Now to figure out what left is! Cue my new favorite theme song: Beyoncé’s “Break my soul”. What else you got 2023?

I’m so sorry about the COVID. I haven’t had it yet, but I definitely don’t think I’m immune. I’d be happy to be though! Especially after this most recent exposure. And I’m sorry that the statins are causing problems.

Love your attitude, Deborah, and feel totally better!

Oh no! I’m so sorry you got sick. Hopefully it stays mild. We finally got it for the 1st time in January and hardly felt like it was more than a cold. Still, it’s an inconvenience!

      It sure is!

Deborah, I love that saying so, so much- “If nothing seems to be going right, go left.” I’ve definitely been in that situation where I just feel like I’m getting knocked down over and over again. I’m sorry you had such a challenging week, but your mindset is great. Keep at it, and things will turn around- they ALWAYS do.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/23/2023 at 9:30 am

Yes, I know you had a rough road yourself a few times. It is not in my nature to give up and I will have a comeback

So sorry covid finally caught you, but glad your symptoms have been mild. At least this infection should boost your immunity for the next few months. 😉 Apparently covid cases around us are really high — there was a story on NPR of how they are tracking it in waste water, which makes sense since people aren’t testing/reporting their results these days.

LOL on skipping a photo — you are so photogenic, I bet you looked great. 😉

    • Deborah Brooks says

      04/23/2023 at 2:25 pm

I in fact, did not look great 🙂 But I am on the tail end for sure so moving on
