Weekly Run Down Mother’s Day, Anniversaries and Birthdays!

Thanks for joining the Weekly Run Down with Kim and me. Happy happy Mother’s Day to all my favorite mamas out there. Hope you are doing something you love with people you love today. 💕. It was a week of Anniversaries, Mother’s Day and birthdays over here. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and running.

weekly run down

Weekly Run Down

Sunday-4 ish mile run + stretching + core

My husband I had another fun run together. He is not an early bird on weekends so we got out there a lot later than I would have liked and it was warm. He is making strides (see what I did there?) towards training for his 5K on Father’s Day. I had to hold his water for him so we need to figure out that situation for next time.

Weekly run down

Later, we had dinner with my parents and our son which was nice. I had not seen my parents in a few weeks because I had covid.

Weekly run down

Monday- upper & lower body strength + core + cycle + stretch

Hitting hard this morning with a mix of all my favorite Peloton strength and cycle classes. I started week 2 of Olivia’s core challenge which I am enjoying so far. I even got in an afternoon walk to the grocery store before the rain rolled in.

Weekly run down

Tuesday- 4.25 mile run/walk + stretch and core

It was a rainy morning around here but no thunder so we headed out for our Tuesday run. I did not feel as great today as I did on my last run but that’s ok. Every run cannot be rainbows and sparklers.

Weekly run down

Wednesday-3 mile walk + core + barre

It was a non-traditional albeit very active Workout Wednesday over here. I walked to the service station in the morning to pick up my son’s car that was in for service. It was such a gorgeous day 70 and sunny with low humidity-yes please.

I am so bad with plants but I was inspired to plant some flowers in our porch pots. We are having the family over for Mother’s Day brunch and wanted it look nice.

Weekly run down

Thursday-5.5  mile run/walk + stretch + core

I am still working my way back and taking walk breaks when I feel like it. It is definitely frustrating at times but I am no quitter. Do what you can right? Have I mentioned how amazing my run squad is?

Weekly run down

Friday-core + barre + upper body strength + walk

Furniture moving! Yay our new porch is finally inspected and ready to have the furniture moved in! I still need some accessories and decor but I am very pleased with how it came out and I know I will spend lots of time out there.

Weekly run down

I hope this will be my new blog writing space. My motivation has been waiting lately to write during the week.

Saturday- Peloton cycle and stretch + core

Our plans to run outside today were rained out. We did workout together in our home gym and celebrate our 28th anniversary.

We have a special anniversary tradition of dining at The Inn at Little Washington which we have planned soon. My husband made homemade pizza for me and we toasted to our new patio space and another year of marriage.

We are hosting Mother’s Day brunch over here and also doing an early birthday celebration for my son with everyone. It was a busy week over here!

Hope everyone is having a great day today!

    Happy anniversary and Mother’s Day.

    Your deck looks great.

I’ve got to get working on my garden.

I hear on running. Walk breaks are my new normal. And I’m ok with it.

Happy Anniversary! Happy Mother’s Day! I love your new screened in porch. I’ve always wanted one, but it wouldn’t work with our house. We have a canopy over our deck and yes, I do a lot of blog writing out there!

I am so not a green thumb so I am leaving the rest of the gardening to those who know what they are doing 🙂

Have a fabulous brunch today! I am right there with you with the frustration of not being able to be as active as I’d like to be — but neither of us are quitters and we’ll get there!

Happy anniversary and Mother’s Day! Beautiful porch! I see there is a heater out there. Will it be a four seasons room? Our sunroom has traditional walls and roof, so we use ours all year – although at times we close it off because it’s just too cold to hang out there! Hope your fitness is back at it’s peak again soon!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/14/2023 at 4:17 pm

Yes we hope to use it all year around!

Happy Mother’s Day! And Happy Anniversary, and Happy Birthday to your son. Your May is like our December- in addition to Christmas, both kids have birthdays so it’s just one celebration after another.
Your porch is beautiful! And… don’t worry about the running. It will come back. We’ve all been there- I feel like I’m struggling right now to get my legs moving in anything quicker than a slow slog, but it comes back. We have to be persistent, and as you said, you’re no quitter!

Glad you can run with your husband. I try to do the same with my wife but in the past she used to say: “by next week” and now “after the retirement” (she will retire on June 30).
    Have a good week.

what an awesome celebratory week! I know how you feel about the frustration of getting running fitness back. but you’ll get there, you always do! you patio looks amazing! what a great inspiring space! I did some gardening over the weekend too – we needed to pull some weeds and Ron had some retail therapy after the cat passed away – he bought me a new tree to replace the dead one and a bunch of new herbs to put in the garden. It’s so fulfilling to do a bit of gardening!

Your new porch/deck/patio looks amazing! Lots of great space for dining or hanging out!
