Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down today. After getting Prolotherapy 10 days ago, I am happy to report that my hamstring is on the mend. I would say it’s at about 85% healed. Still being a little cautious by avoiding any weighted lower body exercises. So, no deadlifts or squats this week. Fingers crossed it continues to heal. Here is a peek into my week of fitness.
Weekly Run Down Hamstring on the mend
Monday- core + upper body + hip/glute activation + Peloton cycle
I do love to hit it hard on a Monday. Still backing off the lower body with weighted exercises for another few days. Cycling felt good on my hamstring. I modified a few core moves that recruited them. Happy with my progress.
Tuesday- 6 mile run + stretch + core
Great to be back with my Runner Girl Gang today. I am feeling much better and took it kind of slow. It was nice that it was not as hot as it has been. Just regular hot- ha.
Wednesday- core + upper body + stretch
I got in a good core and upper body workout today. Had to cut it a bit short because I met my mom for lunch which was really nice,
Thursday 7.5 mile run + stretch
It was such a gorgeous day today. I almost forgot it was mid-July! We were gifted with a low humidity day and I took full advantage for a longer run. Felt so good out there! Yes, I am running in a dress. It was comfortable I really loved it.
Friday- upper body + hip mobility + core + yoga
A little bit of everything today. It was so nice out again that I took my yoga session outside by the pool
Saturday- rest day
Did some errands around the house and did a nice, long Peloton full body stretch class.
Sunday- Run Day
On the plan: 8-9 miles. The heat will be back on today so I am just excited to get out there and get it done. Hamstring is feeling good this morning and hoping it is on the mend for good.

I’m so glad to hear your hamstring is feeling better! I haven’t missed running as much as I thought I would–probably because it’s so hot and humid right now. And I’ve been busy with other things. This week may test me, lol. I have to say your upper arms and shoulders look amazing. Your hard work has really been paying off!!!

The prolotherapy really does the trick for those nagging strains and it seems to have worked its magic again for me. Long run felt good today!

While I love my skirts, not sure how I’d go running in a dress.

That’s great news about your hamstring! I had an issue with my hamstring a few years ago and it was one of the most annoying injuries to treat because it would feel awesome and then as soon as I tried to run it would hurt.
I’ve never seen a running dress before and it looks really cool! I imagine it felt very light and airy too!
