Weekly Run Down Baby it’s cold out there!

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down today. Baby it’s cold out there this week! Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fashion and life. I did attend a number of inaugural parties this past week. If that upsets you, feel free to ignore my photos.

Weekly Run Down

Sunday-Peloton full body workout + core + barre

I had access to a fabulous hotel gym that was surprisingly not too crowded. The best part was that I was able to try out some heavier barbells and weights than I have at home. It felt amazing! Later, we had some more inaugural events to attend. The weather did not cooperate with snow and sleet and freezing temps-it’s cold out there!

weekly run down

Monday-barre glute class + core

I only had time for a short workout today before getting dressed for another event.

weekly run down

Tuesday- peloton tread walk + core + barre

Back home and exhausted but it always feels good to move. I was happy to get back at it today. It’s still so cold here! We are not used to this weather.

Wednesday-Peloton wall + full body strength + core

It was nice to get back into my n normal Wednesday routine with a longer, harder workout. I had fun trying out these sparkly,  ankle and wrist weights. I really like the extra challenge they offer for core and Pilates classes.

weekly run down

Thursday-Peloton hike + core

It was a balmy 11 degrees this morning and thus way too cold to go for my walk outside. The sidewalks around me are still a sheet of ice. Anyway, I did have a nice challenging tread hike.

Friday-Peloton hike + upper body + core strength

I felt good to get in a nice heavy strength workout. We donated a wine dinner at the American Heart Association auction a few months back and it was tonight. I was very happy with my table scape and it was fun to meet some new friends who won the dinner.

weekly rundown

Saturday – outdoor walk + lower body strength

It was finally a balmy 33 degrees which seemed so much warmer. I really missed my outdoor time and was happy to get out for a nice walk before returning home to do some lower body strength.

weekly run down

It was a really cold week for us around here! I’m looking forward to a slightly warmer and much more boring week ahead.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yay for some extra heavy weights! I know you’re much into that too.
I heard about the cold snap in the US… and it was part of what caused the bad storm we had this week. Hope it warms up for you soon. I can totally relate to missing the outdoors. I’m itching to go out walking but have only managed a few short walks during January because of weather.

The cold seems to be a theme for all of us this week! It was in the 30s yesterday in Wisco and it felt like summer, lol

Such a busy week for you (and the hubby)! You guys look so elegant and dashing, how fun 😉 WHAT IS UP WITH THE WEATHER??? We’re all getting hit with cold and less-than-desirable conditions. At least we know it won’t last forever…right? I need to look into those wrist/ankle eights…they look like a great addition to ones fitness arsenal.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/26/2025 at 10:04 am

thanks we had lots of fun dressing up and going to some cool parties despite the weather. Yes, you know I love all the gear!

That wine dinner looks phenomenal! I love the fairy lights.

Cold was the theme this week, I think. We all just are trying to get through it in whatever degrees we are enduring.

    You look beautiful.

Love your table. So pretty. You are so the entertainer.

You’re gorgeous!! You look fabulous in all those amazing dresses. Glad you got to enjoy a good hotel gym – you never know if it’s going to be anything more than a treadmill and 4 handweights lol. Sounds like you were cold like we were – but still warmer than negative 2 that we had earlier this week! Hopefully it continues to warm up and stay warm for you.
