Weekly run down A Week Of Sunshine

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down. This week we finally broke out of the rainy days and had lots of sunshine (and heat).

A week of Sunshine Weekly Run Down

Sunday- 3 mile power walk + yoga for hips

well, I slept until after 9 and missed my group run. I guess I really did need the extra day off. By that point it was a little hot and I opted for a 3 mile power walk and a yoga for hips.

Monday- Peloton hike + core + upper & lower body strength + afternoon 3 mile walk

After some extra rest over the weekend, I was ready to get back to it. I got in a full range of Peloton cardio and strength workouts. Later, had a nice sunshine filled walk with a friend.

Tuesday- 4 ish miles run/walk + yoga + core

It was cloudy but warm and humidity so I give this run a sweat factor of 7/10. It is June and we know the melting temps are on the way!

Weekly run down

Wednesday-3 mile power walk + core + upper and lower body strength

I took advantage of the last not too hot day for a morning walk. Paired that with some Peloton strength.I got in a nice stretch by my pool.

Later, I had the fun opportunity to play model for a friend’s landscape and backyard design firm. I got to play happy home owner doing yoga in a beautiful backyard and swimming laps in an infinity pool. Why yes, I could get used to that!

PS did you catch my post run stretch routine on IG?

Thursday-3 mile run and 1 mile walk + stretch

Things are heating up around here! Looks like we are in for a heat wave and you know I am not thrilled.

Weekly run down

Friday-Peloton hike + core + upper body strength

I am loving these tread hikes on my non running days. I’ve been feeling like I need more structure again with my workouts. So, I am back on another split training program. I will be returning to JJ’s 3 day split today. I really enjoyed it when I did it last year. See my review here.

Later, I had a fabulous and much needed massage.

Saturday-rest day

I am honoring my rest day every week but admittedly I do get antsy by the afternoon. After last night’s massage, I woke up feeling really good. I did a short Peloton stretch to keep up my streak. Reading by the pool was how I spent my afternoon.

Hope you had a fabulous week! Happy Father’s Day to you and yours.

Nice combo of strength training, yoga, walks, and runs. I wasn’t very happy with Thursday’s and Friday’s heat up, but the weather couldn’t have been any nicer today with the low humidity.

    Have a great upcoming week!

I’ve been needing more rest than usual lately–not sure why! I blame RA. How fun that you were able to be a fitness model–that infinity pool sounds heavenly! Stay cool!

It was fun to do the photo shoot and hope I get to see the photos soon. I blame the heat for needing more rest and I am strangely ok with it

We have some heat coming our way.

You seem to be adjusting well.

    Great active week.

It is always hard for me to adjust and slow down in the heat

You are looking great — I bet that photo shoot was fun.

Looks like next weekend’s heat will be serious — a great time to be in your pool!

I should do JJs split again — my triceps tremble at the thought!

      06/16/2024 at 8:58 am

yes join me for JJ’s split I would the company and accountability. Triceps are sore from day 1 but that’s a good thing

We’re headed into our first heatwave of the year, with temps forecasted to be in the 90’s all week. An appropriate way to usher-in the first day of summer, LOL! I need to take a cue from you & revisit JJ’s program… I’m def needing some structure to snap me back into a consistent strength routine.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/16/2024 at 8:59 am

yes join me for JJ’s split! Would love the accountability and company. I have only done 1 day so far

You’re reminding me of how much I was enjoying my treadmill walking workouts- 3 miles at 12% incline, 3 mph… i may have to do some of those this week!
Good luck with the heat wave- we’re entering your 4th favorite season of running. Luckily you’ve got lots of options and know how to mix it up. Happy Father’s Day to your husband (I always enjoy his smiling face in your photos.)

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/16/2024 at 9:00 am

yes, similar style of tread but they mix up the inclines and speed for variety. I really enjoy them

I slept in today and it was glorious! And I love that you sometimes skip your group run to get some rest. Two thumbs up.

I’d love to have a tread just for the hiking classes alone. They seem to be so fun!

Live and learn on the sleeping in. I am not training for anything right now and sometimes more sleep is what I need

I’m with you on the heat wave. No, thank you!

I love your modeling gig! So cool!

I did enjoy some pool lounging this past week too. It was a nice change of pace to catch up on my People magazine reading! My family slept in on Sunday and we all compared our Garmin sleep scores, which were all very excellent. Seeing good sleep score is always a nice treat!

I love a good sleep score!! Under rated measure 🙂 I use Oura and it’s the first thing I check every morning.
