Weekly Run Down A Jam Packed Visit to the Windy City

Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down today. I have been in Chicago the last few days visiting my daughter and enjoying the fun of the windy city. I also was lucky enough to meet up with some of my favorite running bloggers/friends and pop into a race as well. Here is a peek into my week of fitness.

A Visit to the windy city

Monday-upper body + core + 40 m Peloton cycle

“You will never always be motivated. You have to learn to be disciplined.”

chicago

Tuesday-5 mile run + stretch

It was our chilliest morning this season and we were happy to get our run in right before the rain started.

windy city

Wednesday- core + lower body + upper body and yoga

I really enjoyed the lower body and upper body Peloton strength classes I chose today. I figured a bonus yoga class would do me good especially a few days before my upcoming race.

Thursday- 4.25 mile run + travel to Chicago

We woke up to temps in the 30’s this morning. It was time to pull out the fall gear and the gloves. I got in a short 4 ish mile run with the squad before jetting off to the airport. It is a short less than 2 hour flight to Chicago from DC. I arrived in time to meet my daughter for dinner.

weekly run down

Friday- Peloton stretch + core + 5 miles of walking

I hit the Hot Chocolate expo to pick up our race packets for Sunday’s race. Lots of walking around Chicago and a little shopping with my daughter.

I did hit up the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM because how could I not?

Saturday- rest day/spa day

Morning spa day with my daughter. I stayed in a hotel with a fabulous gym and a Peloton and never once stepped foot in there. Who am I? Ha!

Afternoon meet up with Wendy and Linda for cocktails. So fun to catch up with these ladies after so long. We never stopped talking for a second!

Sunday- Hot Chocolate 15K

Will run for Hot Chocolate and meet ups with Linda and Km (surprise last-minute addition to the party). Stay tuned for a full recap this week. It was a jam packed visit to the wind city thanks for running along. I may need a vacation from my vacation.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.
