Thank for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down today. We were in California most of the week for Weddings and Winings (aka wine tastings). There was some physical activity too don’t worry! Here is a peek into my week of fitness and fun,

weekly run down

Weddings and Winings

Sunday- 5 mile walk + elliptical + core

We were up pretty early due to the time change. Well, 5:30 is pretty early for me! We started off with a morning walk to get coffee and breakfast and then another mid morning walk along the Marin area in Berkeley. It was really foggy and thus, my photos did not come out.

I hit the gym for a few elliptical miles and a Peloton core class. Then, we were headed to the wedding in the late afternoon. It was a lovely outdoor wedding but so chilly!

Monday–Walking around St Helena, California

We drove from Berkeley to St Helena to meet up with our friends for a few days of wine tastings and fun. The weather is much nicer here and a lot warmer. We arrived just in time for an afternoon wine 🍷 tasting. We checked into our Air BnB which has both a Peloton bike and tread.

California

Tuesday- Peloton walk + cycle + upper & lower body weights

Finally got to try out the Peloton tread for a walking class. Yes, it’s pretty great and very smooth. Luckily, our Air BnB also had the cycle and an assortment of weights. It felt great to get in a good sweat session.

Then it was off to wine 🍷 tasting!

Weddings and Winings

Wednesday- Peloton walking class + core + upper body

I took advantage of the Peloton tread to get a couple more walking classes in. Later, I skipped the morning wine tasting and instead walked all around town and in and out of cute little shops. Met up with my husband and our friends for lunch and afternoon wine tasting. One a day is about my limit lol.

Weddings and Winings

Our last night in this beautiful weather and scenery was a fantastic dinner.

California wine tasting

Thursday- Airport Peloton walk + fly home

We had an early departure from Napa back to San Francisco to catch our flight. I got in my Peloton check for the day with a 20 min walk through the airport before our 5 hour flight.

California

Friday- Peloton walk + upper body and core + afternoon walk

Back home! I was eager to get back into my usual strength routine. I’m liking the Peloton tread walks as a warm up to weights. Later, I dodged the thunderstorms and headed outside for another walk.

Saturday- 3 mile neighborhood hood

Sunday is our Father’s Day 5K that my husband has been training for. Can’t wait to tell you all about it! I am already so proud of him.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Everyone in CA has been complaining about the weather! #sorrynotsorry (although sorry it wasn’t all lovely for you). Sounds like a great vacation! How cool to be able to try out the Peloton tread.

Good luck to you both! Maybe the race will hook him on running?

It sounds like an amazing time! Did you specifically look for a Peloton-equipped AirBnB?

I love the outfit you wore at the wedding — what a great color!

I hope your husband enjoys the 5K today — such great weather for mid-June!

We did have a great time in Napa. We did not specifically look for a Peloton house but when it popped up we took it! it was a great plus for sure

Can’t wait to hear how your hubbys first 5k goes.

I can’t wait to hear about the race! I hope your husband enjoyed it.
Your time in Napa sounds incredible. I agree- one wine tasting a day for me. I think if I went to one in the morning, I would have to go home and take a nap.
Nice job as always keeping up your Peloton streak!

How lovely that your AirBnB had so much fitness equipment. I wouldn’t expect that! It’s good to be able to keep up one’s fitness routine to some extent during travel. It looks like a good time away – and all those wine tastings!
I hope you both enjoyed the race today.

Yes, it is good to keep up while you are traveling. 🙂

I hope the race went well! We had a beer after mountain biking today (around noon) and it was an unusually unproductive rest of the day for me. Day drinking is tough! 😆

And I am not surprised the wedding was chilly… it’s June Gloom in the Bay Area LOL (as soon as you get over the mountain to Napa, it warms up! 🙂

Congrats to you and your husband on the 5K (I have just seen your photo after the race).

California really suits you! y’all look stunning in that setting! what a fun trip and it never even occurred to me to look at airbnbs with pelotons! Smart to also do your peloton walk in the airport – we all usually have so much time to kill in an airport anyway!

will get through the rest of the blogs on the WRD and then come back and read about your hubby’s 5K! I’ve been waiting for that!!

Sounds like a nice trip to Napa! I don’t mind multiple days of tastings as long as there are runs and other exploring in the morning! That part of California is so very pretty.

    Thanks for hosting the link-up!
