Vanlentine's Day|racing|flat mamas|running belt|race belt|review|giveaway|SLS3

I am so excited for my first race of 2016 tomorrow! I will be running the For The Love of It 10k in Virginia in the morning. So to be honest, part of the reason I signed up for this was to make sure that I had a snow/ice free place to run. Secondly, I just love the “cheesy” ness of Valentine’s Day. I am embracing it in full force this year-from head to toe! Thirdly, I love PR races because they are “run” so well.

For the Love of It 10k is a fun, festive local race where I expect to “run” into lots of MRTT members from other local chapters. Unless there is a drastic change in weather this is what I’ll be wearing Saturday morning.

SLS3 Run Belt Review

I’ve been putting the SLS3 Running belt to the test the past week. Sometimes I do not need to take a water belt with me but I do still want to carry my keys, maybe some chews and of course my phone for all of those running selfies. The SLS3 run belt can hold everything I need:

SLS3 Dual pocket running belt|giveaway|review

What I am liking about this SLS3 running belt:

-The large size pockets hold my large I Phone 6 as well as a key chain and gels

-The pockets are lined and water resistant

-The belt strap is slightly wider so it does not slip around at all on my hips. I prefer to wear my belts on my hips vs waist

-The belt is easily adjustable for when I have on multiple layers of clothes

-The belt is available in black, blue, pink and yellow

-The belt did not bounce around or move at all during my run.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I’m not sure that there are any Valentine’s races here. I do like Valentines. I mean, what’s not to like about a holiday that involves chocolate, even if my husband knows better than to bring me chocolate.

But if *I* choose to indulge, that’s a different story.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/05/2016 at 7:56 am

Oh my husband would never get me chocolate either! I like to pick out my own anyway 🙂

No Valentine’s themed races on my agenda, but planning to run at the gym (that doesn’t sound nearly as exciting, haha). I love the outfit you picked out for your race and the belt seems like it fits in perfectly!

The flat outfit is tot-adorb, but so is the belt-one! I love the flowery pants! I don’t have a belt, but always wanted one, for extra stuff on the long runs- i have not a clue why I never bought one, but I know I will this yr- advil for the long-run alone!

    • Deborah Brooks says

What a fun theme for a race! There’s a big super bowl themed race here in NYC every year, but last year I froze my butt off doing it haha. The double pocket is a great feature on that belt. I feel like I always need more space.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/05/2016 at 12:47 pm

It’s looking a little chilly here tomorrow too oh well! I like the double pockets as well.

I chose those capris in pink because I am all about pink and black. I went with a tank too. I think I need a skirt for summer yoga. That would be cute I think :0)

I LOVE those capri’s!!!!! Total cuteness!! I’m doing the Red Flannel Run (Des Moines, IA) next weekend…no Valentine theme, but this event is always held on the weekend closest to Valentine’s Day. It’s a lot of fun, but almost always VERY cold. I also tested the belt, and thought it was great (but it did slide up to my waist…..EVERY belt I’ve ever tried has done that, too). Good luck in your race!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/05/2016 at 6:14 pm

That’s one of the reasons why I wear it on my hips-did you try that? I love the tights too so cute. Good luck on your race next week it is a little chilly here too

Cute outfit!! I’m not a fan of anything around my waist sadly. But this looks awesome, just like a spibelt but with two pockets!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/10/2016 at 9:04 am

Similar yes but I find my SPI belt really slips around a lot while I run with it whereas I did not have that experience with this one. Thanks for entering!
