    • Well hello November! Thanks for joining me and my co hosts Coco and Lynda for the November Ultimate Coffee Date. I always love these posts and have so much fun reading what you are all up to. So please grab your mugs and join us!
    • If we were having coffee, I would tell you…November is always such a crazy busy time in our house. Both my husband and I have birthdays this week. We are exactly 4 years and 2 days apart-yes he is the older one! Our birthday celebrations seem to last for weeks and this year will be no different with my husband having a big bash in Vegas next month.
    • If we were having coffee, I would tell you…we started celebrating last night with a little night away at the Inn at Little Washington. It’s a charming little Inn located in the middle of nowhere about an hour and half outside of DC. So…if I am a little late for coffee this morning, you will know why.
    • If we were having coffee, I would tell you…it certainly doesn’t feel like November with these crazy warm temps we’ve been having. I am loving running in shorts and tanks while having the beautiful fall leaves to look at it. I know it won’t last long so trying to take it all in.
    • If we were having coffee, I would tell you…Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all! I love that Thanksgiving is not about gifts or religion but about family and tradition. I love cooking with my husband all day, smelling all the yummy smells and setting our tables with our best china. I am a vegetarian and I still love Thanksgiving. Since I’ve been upping my game the past year with all of my Meatless Monday recipes, I’m doubly excited to show some off this year. I will be showcasing my best recipes for Thanksgiving next week-you won’t want to miss it. This is one of my favorite family photos from 2013.
  • Do you love Thanksgiving?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Yes, I love Thanksgiving. Although it is not celebrated here, we are invited every year by a friend who does it, turkey and all ! The ovens here are too small to cook a turkey so he has to have the butcher cook the turkey. While I love it, it is somehow not exactly the same, as there is no football on tv ! Happy Birthday to you !

      11/07/2015 at 8:49 am

Yes I can see how it’s not the same but I hope it is still a special day for you. Thanks for the birthday wishes

Happy Birthday! I love celebrations that last a week! or longer if need be! Yes Thanksgiving is one of my favorite, I love cooking all day with the hubby too and we have an open door policy. With 4 kids and their schedules and significant others we eat in shifts all day and that is fine with me 🙂 Love the pictures! Hope you are enjoying your getaway!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/07/2015 at 8:54 am

Ah eating in shifts? We haven’t tried that

Happy Birthday! My hubby and I are birthday twins as well. 3 years and 3 days apart (he’s older, too!). We’ve got the strangely warm weather here as well. Have a good weekend Deborah!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/07/2015 at 8:56 am

Thanks!! That such a coincidence about the beats but it’s fun to celebrate together

Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday. With my mom, it was always too much: too much food (which assured nothing was at the right temp), too many people, eating too late.

This yr I get to do it . . .

That’s a wonderful Thanksgiving pic. It looks like a football game possibly reflected in the background? Sounds about right for us! I do enjoy Thanksgiving (yay-no shopping!) and my MIL still hosts dinner so I have it very easy! Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday month, today is our 18 year wedding anniversary. I am looking forward to some date time with my husband 🙂 Happy coffee Deb

These coffee posts are so cute! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because of no gifts/religion and just celebrating family/tradition, too! I’d tell you that I’m sitting poolside as I read this on a yoga/meditation retreat with a friend of 30 years, and this was perfect reading for the occasion!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/08/2015 at 3:51 pm

Ah so jealous that you are poolside! It’s been warm here but not that warm 🙂

It’s a wonderful spot to spend your birthday or anniversary! I hope you have the chance to go out there. I wasn’t going to write a whole post about it because it sounds kind of snobby but happy to tell you all about it. We need another real coffee date soon 🙂

Happy birthday to you and your hubby!!! I hope you have a wonderful celebration! Fabulous picture of you two. =)

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, too. There are some really amazing vegetarian recipes out there! I’ve been wanting to try tofurky for the longest time – but in the meantime, bring on all the bean dishes and mushroom dishes!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/08/2015 at 3:54 pm

Thanks! I am not a tofurky person but stay tuned for all my favorite veggie thanksgiving recipes next week for meatless Monday!

I don’t love Thanksgiving. We typically go on vacation, but we will be in Ohio this year visiting family which will be nice, too!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/08/2015 at 3:58 pm

It had been unseasonably warm here for November as well, then last weekend we got hit with a full on snow storm and freezing temps! Now today (thanksgiving) it’s rainy and in the 50’s. I swear the weather doesn’t know what it wants to do!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/26/2015 at 1:29 pm

Thanks and I know crazy weather for sure but I will take 50’s and 60’s in November anytime. Happy Thanksgiving
