So glad to have you joining us for the Ultimate Coffee Date link up today. If you are new, it’s pretty simple, grab our button above, link back to the hosts (myself, Coco and Lynda) and pull up a chair and dish as though we were having coffee together. It would be great if you could also hop over and visit some of the other blogs as well. I have some of my best conversations either over coffee or running-how about you?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…Usually I feel as though January is so long and dreary but this year it seems to have gone by pretty quickly. Aside from our blizzard, we’ve had warmish weather which has let us run outside quite a bit. Just being outside in the sunlight makes me happy.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I had a fun quick trip out to Indiana to visitย my daughter last weekend. I’m so glad that she chose to go to school not too far so we can have spontaneous visits. We also explored around Indianapolis-fun town kind of reminds me of Denver.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…My other baby (my 15 year old son) got his driver’s permit yesterday. For some reasom,ย I am a little more nervous the second time around. First driving lesson this weekend! He won’t let me post a picture ๐ I guess not everyone likes having their photos everywhere.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… I am feeling the need to make something yummy and chocolate for the Super Bowl game. Of course I will pretend that I made them for my son. Sometimes you really just want chocolate so I am going through all of my Pinterest recipes to find the perfect brownies.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have been selling a bunch of stuff on Poshmark lately. I realized I had so many athletic clothes that I just wasn’t wearing any longer and my drawers wouldn’t close. Yikes! I figured I might as well sell them off (so I can buy new ones- LOL ). It’s a super easy app to use check it out if you are interested.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have my first race of 2016 this morning. I am running the For The Love of It 10K today with a bunch of my MRTT mamas. It’s a little chilly out there today but I know it will be lots of fun. I am loving the Valentine theme this year.
If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
Lynda@fitnessmomwinecountry says
Those socks are adorable Deborah. Love them. I have not had a race yet this year, but soon. My Pure Barre is spot on right now {6 days a week}. Happy weekend.
Deborah Brooks says
Wow 6 days a week of pure barre that’s a lot of lifting and tucking! Nice to see you for coffee today
Karen - Fit in France says
I would tell you I am so happy it is February ! More sunlight and spring is coming. You are indeed lucky to have your daughter who is not too far away. How fun !
Deborah Brooks says
Yes to more sunlight and I am always glad that she is not too far away in case one of us needs a weekend together.
Coco says
Oh, have fun with that 10K! I’m heading out the door for my run now. LOVE the socks!
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks it’s a lot colder than I thought today!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
I agree, it seemed that January went pretty fast and I think February is going to be fly too! Hope you find a yummy recipe for the Super Bowl! And good luck at your race ๐
Deborah Brooks says
Thanks! It was fun this morning but much colder than I expected it to be. I am ready for spring
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
How nice that you got to spend some time with your daughter! Such a cute picture of the two of you. Have fun at your race!

Deborah Brooks says
Thanks it was fun but really cold!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Hope you had a great race!
My parents NEVER came to visit me at college, but then again, it was like a 6 hour drive. But no, I think they were really enjoying being empty nesters finally; I’m the baby.
Superbowl really means nothing in this house, and since I’ll be doing my longish run (6-7 miles) tomorrow, no baking on tap. Probably today . . .
Deborah Brooks says
It will be strange when my youngest goes off as well. I kind of hope he stays close by as well. Run done so now I can bake some chocolate!
Lara @ Uptite Mamas says
Super cute socks!! And when are these kids going to spot growing up so quickly. ๐ I’m going to have to look at poshly. I’ve never heard of it before but I’m thinking it might be fun!! Thanks for coffee ๐
Marcia says
You and your daughter are so cute together! I bet guys hit on you! Thing 1 is pushing hard to take drivers ed over the summer. I’m already buckling in for that ride. What a great idea to use Poshmark! Glad it’s working well for you. THanks for the linkup!
rachel says
Thanks for sharing! I love coffee… AND meeting new friends! I will be writing my post this afternoon when I am done running my boys to/from basketball games ๐
Mar @ Mar on the Run says
those Valentine’s socks are super cute! Good luck in the 10K! Happy to join you guys for the first time ๐
Deborah Brooks says
It was freezing this morning and super hilly but lots of fun!
Kelli says
Those socks are SOOOO cute. Enjoy the 10K! Great idea about selling gently used stuff. I cleared out a bunch of cycling and tri stuff earlier on online swap meet and tri n sell it. I’ll have to check out poshmark.
Deborah Brooks says
If you have more expensive stuff that you wouldn’t just give away Poshmark is great. I had fun this morning but it was really cold!
HoHo Runs says
Those socks are so adorable! My youngest son will soon be 16 and I am very nervous about him driving alone, much more than the other two when they started. January seemed to fly by for me and I’m afraid February may be the slow month because I’m wishing for spring. Thanks for the link, Deborah! I hope you had a wonderful race.
Deborah Brooks says
I wonder why we are more nervous about the youngest boy? I can’t decide if it’s because I think he’s still my baby or he’s a boy? Good luck to both of us!
Mary says
Good luck with your race! Those socks are so cute.
Mother daughter weekends are special aren’t they? We are headed to Boston on the 19th with my in-laws to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. I just hope the weather is good!
Deborah Brooks says
Daughter weekends are the best! Hope you enjoy yours too. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend
MCM Mama Runs says
Cute socks! Hope your race went well today. It was great seeing you this week – we definitely need to do that again.
Deborah Brooks says
It was so cold this morning! Yes we do need to meet up more often and we forgot to take a picture.
Karen says
I hope the 10K went well ๐
I have the same issue, my work out drawer won’t close, I need to find some new organizational tools lol
A trip to visit your daughter sounds fun, always good for Mom to see how things are going.
Deborah Brooks says
It’s so hard not to buy all the workout clothes isn’t it? Yes always great to visit my daughter thanks!
Tricia@MissSippipiddlin says
Aww look at you with your daughter, great picture! You sure you are old enough to have a daughter in college? Hummm ๐ I’m feeling the same need for some chocolate tomorrow, thanks for the reminder, I know I have some great recipes pinned on Pinterest as well! Thanks for coffee Deborah!
Deborah Brooks says
I liked you before but now I really like you!
[email protected] says
I really love your coffee posts! I lived in Indianapolis for 2 years. If you haven’t already done so, next time you visit your daughter, you must run along the “Monon Rail Trail”…. a beautiful 18 mile paved trail. If we were having coffee, I’m pretty sure you already know I’d be talking your head off about how excited I am for my Valentine’s Day marathon
Deborah Brooks says
I am excited for your marathon too! I can’t wait to read about it ๐ I ran in Bloomington on the trail but have not run in Indy yet. Next time!
Kim W says
Love your socks! I totally spaced this morning and didn’t recognize you before the MRTT photo. We seem destined never to meet in person, even when we are mere feet away from each other. Duh!
Deborah Brooks says
OMG I didn’t see you either but there were a ton of people in that photo and they all just scattered. I wanted to make sure I had time for the bathroom. Totally forgot how hilly that course was I am going to be sore tomorrow!
Steph says
Those socks are the best! How adorable! Good luck to your son learning to drive! I think we’re getting the tailend of the blizzard and storms that you guys have had in the States (though it’s rain rather than snow).
I would definitely tell you that it’s time for spring to roll around now! I can’t wait to explore our local area a little more and go for some walks when it is dry.
Deborah Brooks says
It is for sure time for spring! The blizzard was fun for a few days but now I am done with winter! Thanks for dropping by for coffee today!
Kim says
LOVE the socks…so cute…I have a 13 year old son and I am nervous about when he will be getting a driver’s permit and that is years away!!!
Deborah Brooks says
lol I know I am a little more nervous this time around. I don’t know if it’s because he is my baby or not. First lesson tomorrow!
Akaleistar says
Those socks are darling! Hope you had a great race ๐
Deborah Brooks says
It was very cold but lots of fun thanks
Tamieka says
Super cute socks! !!
Ooh I have not heard of that app…maybe that is a good thing -I might find stuff I don’t need!lol!!
You and your daughter look like sisters!!
Teenage driving ….prayers to you-lol!
Deborah Brooks says
Well I don’t know about sisters! ๐ Poshmark is a great way to sell stuff and now I can go buy more stuff I don’t need ๐
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
When I won the first day of PRR’s IG blizzard photo contest, I had a choice between yesterday’s For The Love Of It 10K and next week’s Run Your Heart Out 5K. I chose next week’s race because there was no way I could run the race yesterday and have time to cook for our dinner party last night. Wish I could have run it and finally met you! ๐
Thanks for the linkup!
Deborah Brooks says
ah too bad! One of these days for sure. It was really cold yesterday so hopefully it’s warmer next weekend for you. Hope your dinner party was fun
Erica @ Erica Finds says
Ooh – how was the race? I did one so far this year and it was not pretty ๐ It happens. I am trying again in LA for V-Day! I hope they have some themed stuff but I don’t think so!
I have to check out Poshmark. I have clothes with tags on them – a lot of them :/
Thanks for hosting!!
Deborah Brooks says
The race was ok really a training run for me. It was really cold! Poshmark is great for selling stuff I was amazed by how much I could sell. Have fun in LA and good luck
Mary Beth Jackson says
It does look like you are having lots of fun visiting back and forth to Indiana, I hope your daughter is enjoying the school year! I don’t think that driving thing ever gets any easier! UGH still gives me flashbacks! LOL! Sorry I missed the coffee date, next month!
Deborah Brooks says
I know we missed you this month! Driving lessons will age me this time ๐
Jess @hellotofit says
Glad you got to visit with your daughter! If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I had my bridal shower Saturday and it was fun ๐ can’t believe it happened, though!
Deborah Brooks says
