Coffee Date link up|virtual|coffe date

So glad to have you joining us for the Ultimate Coffee Date link up today. If you are new, it’s pretty simple, grab our button above, link back to the hosts (myself, Coco and Lynda) and pull up a chair and dish as though we were having coffee together. It would be great if you could also hop over and visit some of the other blogs as well. I have some of my best conversations either over coffee or running-how about you?

Saturday|coffee|virtual link up

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…Usually I feel as though January is so long and dreary but this year it seems to have gone by pretty quickly. Aside from our blizzard, we’ve had warmish weather which has let us run outside quite a bit. Just being outside in the sunlight makes me happy.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I had a fun quick trip out to Indiana to visit  my daughter last weekend. I’m so glad that she chose to go to school not too far so we can have spontaneous visits. We also explored around Indianapolis-fun town kind of reminds me of Denver.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…My other baby (my 15 year old son) got his driver’s permit yesterday. For some reasom,  I am a little more nervous the second time around. First driving lesson this weekend! He won’t let me post a picture 🙂 I guess not everyone likes having their photos everywhere.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you… I am feeling the need to make something yummy and chocolate for the Super Bowl game. Of course I will pretend that I made them for my son. Sometimes you really just want chocolate so I am going through all of my Pinterest recipes to find the perfect brownies.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have been selling a bunch of stuff on Poshmark lately. I realized I had so many athletic clothes that I just wasn’t wearing any longer and my drawers wouldn’t close. Yikes! I figured I might as well sell them off (so I can buy new ones- LOL ). It’s a super easy app to use check it out if you are interested.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have my first race of 2016 this morning. I am running the For The Love of It 10K today with a bunch of my MRTT mamas. It’s a little chilly out there today but I know it will be lots of fun. I am loving the Valentine theme this year.

How cute are these socks?

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Hope you had a great race!

My parents NEVER came to visit me at college, but then again, it was like a 6 hour drive. But no, I think they were really enjoying being empty nesters finally; I’m the baby.

Superbowl really means nothing in this house, and since I’ll be doing my longish run (6-7 miles) tomorrow, no baking on tap. Probably today . . .

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 10:07 am

It will be strange when my youngest goes off as well. I kind of hope he stays close by as well. Run done so now I can bake some chocolate!

Those socks are SOOOO cute. Enjoy the 10K! Great idea about selling gently used stuff. I cleared out a bunch of cycling and tri stuff earlier on online swap meet and tri n sell it. I’ll have to check out poshmark.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 10:52 am

If you have more expensive stuff that you wouldn’t just give away Poshmark is great. I had fun this morning but it was really cold!

    02/06/2016 at 9:09 am

Those socks are so adorable! My youngest son will soon be 16 and I am very nervous about him driving alone, much more than the other two when they started. January seemed to fly by for me and I’m afraid February may be the slow month because I’m wishing for spring. Thanks for the link, Deborah! I hope you had a wonderful race.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 10:55 am

I wonder why we are more nervous about the youngest boy? I can’t decide if it’s because I think he’s still my baby or he’s a boy? Good luck to both of us!

  14. Mary says

    02/06/2016 at 9:11 am

Good luck with your race! Those socks are so cute.
Mother daughter weekends are special aren’t they? We are headed to Boston on the 19th with my in-laws to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. I just hope the weather is good!

I have the same issue, my work out drawer won’t close, I need to find some new organizational tools lol
A trip to visit your daughter sounds fun, always good for Mom to see how things are going.

    • Deborah Brooks says

I really love your coffee posts! I lived in Indianapolis for 2 years. If you haven’t already done so, next time you visit your daughter, you must run along the “Monon Rail Trail”…. a beautiful 18 mile paved trail. If we were having coffee, I’m pretty sure you already know I’d be talking your head off about how excited I am for my Valentine’s Day marathon

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 3:33 pm

I am excited for your marathon too! I can’t wait to read about it 🙂 I ran in Bloomington on the trail but have not run in Indy yet. Next time!

Love your socks! I totally spaced this morning and didn’t recognize you before the MRTT photo. We seem destined never to meet in person, even when we are mere feet away from each other. Duh!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 3:34 pm

OMG I didn’t see you either but there were a ton of people in that photo and they all just scattered. I wanted to make sure I had time for the bathroom. Totally forgot how hilly that course was I am going to be sore tomorrow!

  20. Steph says

    02/06/2016 at 2:53 pm

Those socks are the best! How adorable! Good luck to your son learning to drive! I think we’re getting the tailend of the blizzard and storms that you guys have had in the States (though it’s rain rather than snow).

I would definitely tell you that it’s time for spring to roll around now! I can’t wait to explore our local area a little more and go for some walks when it is dry.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 3:40 pm

It is for sure time for spring! The blizzard was fun for a few days but now I am done with winter! Thanks for dropping by for coffee today!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/06/2016 at 5:29 pm

When I won the first day of PRR’s IG blizzard photo contest, I had a choice between yesterday’s For The Love Of It 10K and next week’s Run Your Heart Out 5K. I chose next week’s race because there was no way I could run the race yesterday and have time to cook for our dinner party last night. Wish I could have run it and finally met you! 🙂

    Thanks for the linkup!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/07/2016 at 3:29 pm

ah too bad! One of these days for sure. It was really cold yesterday so hopefully it’s warmer next weekend for you. Hope your dinner party was fun

Ooh – how was the race? I did one so far this year and it was not pretty 😉 It happens. I am trying again in LA for V-Day! I hope they have some themed stuff but I don’t think so!

I have to check out Poshmark. I have clothes with tags on them – a lot of them :/

    Thanks for hosting!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      02/07/2016 at 3:31 pm
