Ultimate Coffe Date-August

It’s the first Saturday of August and time for the monthly Coffee Date with the ladies: Jill, Lynda & Nikki so please be sure to check out their posts as well.

Wow August already! Why does the summer go by so fast?! But first coffee:

I saw this chart and wondered whether you all thought it was true? Looks like I am reflective and enthusiastic at times. That’s probably true. What is your coffee personality?

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that my daughter is back from her month in Spain. She had such a great experience being fully immersed in a Spanish family’s home and their culture. Her favorite part of the program was learning to surf. We don’t have very many places to get a surf on here in DC obviously. I surprised her last night by taking her to Surf Set class at Crunch Gym. I plan a whole review next week but spoiler alert: it was blast!

If we were having a coffee this morning, I would tell you I had an amazing time in Aspen, CO last week hiking, Running the Race for the Cure 10k and White Water rafting in The Colorado River. It was just so beautiful there.

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I just realized that the Reston Century Bike ride I signed up for back in March is in 3 weeks. Yikes how did that happen? I haven’t been biking as much as I should have been so someone’s butt is really going to hurt that day. I’ve done the ride with 2 friends the last few years. I really like them because they are not “races” but rides so you can ride along at a leisurely pace and there are lots of places to stop and stretch. Should be interesting.

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I keep obsessing over every little tweak that I feel in my shin or ankle. I’m so worried about getting injured again that it is really starting to annoy me. I’ve been really good about following my plan of only running 3 days a week and taking rest days. I’m even doing these 5 Pre-hab exercises. This week, I skipped a run because I felt some twinges in my ankle. I think it’s just tight in the arch but who knows? Annoying none the less.

If we were having coffee this morning, I would tell you that I have to dash because I am meeting the MRTT girls for our weekly long run. As you all know, I love my MRTT mamas. Have a great day and hope I see you for coffee again next month!

If we were having coffee, What would you tell me? What’s your coffee personality? Do you obsess over little twinges?

I love that chart! I love so many different types of coffee that I can’t decide which one I am. If I am treating myself though, definitely a frappucino!

I guess I fall under the “coffee-to-go” on the poster – the description mostly fits but I have better punctuation – which shows that the description mostly fits! Yay for your daughter being home and having had a great time!

I remember taking my first Surf Set class, what a blast and harder than it looks. How cool you have one near you. I think you saw that on my blog, if not check out my review 🙂 White water rafting! What a blast, I hope to do that one day 🙂

I did see it on your blog! It always takes us a while to get the cool stuff her in DC. You California peeps are way cooler! Fun hooking up for coffee again

Colorado!! I’ve always wanted to visit there; it looks so beautiful! :]

I don’t actually drink that much coffee, but if I were to order something, I usually just get coffee-to-go, hehe. The description fits! 😛

Then yes it would fit! Thanks for the coffee date today. Have a great weekend!

I named what you described PIPS! Post injury paranoia syndrome. It drives me insane! Your trip sounds wonderful. I would love to try a surf set class! My coffee personality is coffee to go.

I loved catching up over coffee!

That’s a great name for it! Now I just have to figure out how to get over it. The surf set was fun!

I’m an iced coffee fan so I guess that makes me assertive and outspoken – pretty much fits 🙂 I am dying to try one of those surf set classes – haven’t been able to find one around here yet. Glad your daughter’s home – what a great experience for her!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/02/2014 at 10:13 pm

Yes I do try to listen to my body- I am lucky I know that I have for the most part been very healthy so if bothers me then I do kind of weird about it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/03/2014 at 10:06 am

I am having coffee right now! I have to say that I have been enjoying my bike as much (if not more) as running. There. I said it. That century ride sounds fun!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/03/2014 at 10:07 am

I go through phases where I like to ride my bike more too especially in the summer. You should do a century ride!

  12. Lacey@fairytalesandfitness says

    08/03/2014 at 9:57 am

I’d probably be a coffee to go because I am always on the go for work. As long as I have my coffee everything is going to be ok. How cool is that surf class. Never heard of any of of those. I love white water rafting. It’s so much fun. -L

    • Deborah Brooks says

The surf set class was a real blast. Hope to do it again this week

  13. Katie says

Oh my that coffee chart is awesome! I fell between a mocha and an iced coffee and BOTH were very much me! I hope our Crunch here gets this surf class. That would definitely be something I’d try. As a California girl, surfing is in the blood and a workout based around it would be a blast!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/03/2014 at 8:33 pm

It was a really fun class hope you get to check it out too! Thanks for stopping by!

  14. Matilda says

    08/03/2014 at 11:31 pm

Latte or Mocha, they are the coffee’s I’d pick, and they describe me for sure.
Glad your daughter had a good trip, would have been wonderful, I’m jealous.
I know it’s summer where you are, but gez everyone seems to be going surfing, must be the IT fun fitness sport to do atm. I’ve never been surfing, but I would love to go paddle boarding one day.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/04/2014 at 8:46 am

We don’t have real surfing in DC area so this is a fun substitute!

  15. Lauren @ Lauren's Glass Slipper says

    08/04/2014 at 1:57 pm

I am glad your daughter had fun in Spain! I’d love to go there someday.

Your biking outfit is super cute! Good luck in your ride/race.

I totally understand what you mean on being paranoid in every twinge and tweak after being injured. It’s scary!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      08/04/2014 at 2:56 pm

It is scary and so annoying too huh?! And thanks I’m excited for the bike ride 🙂
