Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week I’m having a bit of post vacay blues for sure. However, getting back to my own bed and regular schedule is always nice. However, the weather outside this week is rather frightful.
Weekly Run Down
Sunday-morning trail walk
I debated between heading to hate gym or taking advantage of my beautiful surroundings. The draw of the picturesque views won out. Hotel gyms will always be there and I wanted to take advantage of our last full day here in Aspen. Later, we hung out at the pool and read with a view of the mountains.
Monday-fly home
Nothing like walking off the plane to have 90% humidity and 98 degrees hit you in the face! It was nice while it lasted in the mountains.
Tuesday-Peloton cycle + lower body strength and core + lap swimming
I was determined to get back on track with my workouts. After a short cycle class, I hopped back into Andy’s 3 day strength program. the weather outside is frightful! We were hovering around 100 degrees all day-yuck! After grocery shopping and doing laundry, I jumped into the pool for a few laps.
Wednesday-core class + swimming
I had a morning Doctor’s appointment and by the time I got home it was just too hot to do anything outside except for swim. Again, the pool was a great way to beat the heat today.
Thursday-Peloton tread hike + upper body pull
The weather outside was indeed frightful again! My morning walk became a Peloton tread hike followed by an upper body pull class. Later, I met my mom ad sister at the mall to help her pick out a dress for an upcoming event.
Friday-power walk + upper body push + core + afternoon walk
We had giant storms last night which knocked our temps down 25 degrees! Although it was a little drizzly this morning, I couldn’t wait to get back out for a good walk with my vest. I came home and added an upper body push and core via Peloton. Later, met a friend for a walk to meet her new dog.
This is why I don’t let other people take my photos! LOL
Saturday-power walk + full body strength
yesterday’s rain kept much cooler (and much appreciated) temps. I headed out for another weighted vest power walk followed by a full body strength class.
It was cool enough this morning to finally enjoy my morning coffee out on the deck again! It was a challenging weather week here and hopefully the next few days will be better.
We finally got a break from the heat mid-week and wow, does it feel good. I’ve been meaning to pull weeds in the front yard for weeks–it was looking like a jungle– and on Thursday, the weather was cool and breezy. I got it done!
I feel the same way when other people offer to take my photos! It’s why a lot of my photos in this week’s post are blurry. Sigh.
can’t trust civilians lol
Travelling and seeing something different is great but it’s always good to get back into routine, isn’t it? I’m not one to complain about hot weather, but it is nice when a thunderstorm hits and cools it down a bit.
yes I agree on both
What a view from your pool while you were reading! It must have felt miserable getting off the plane and back into that horrible humidity. At least I was able to gradually get used to it over a few days as we drove back east.
I agree! The humidity literally smacks you in the face when you step off the plane!
The weather was just gross last week!
the worst!
Frightful is one word for it. All our pools are so freaking hot right now, it’s like getting in a bathtub. We have the springs in Central Florida (they stay 72 degrees year round), but then it’s the car ride to get there, and ughhhh.
Glad you enjoyed your trip and glad you’re making the best of the heat and humidity. I can just imagine that blast of wet heat when you got off the plane and uggggh. I would have turned right back around.
Hope this week is better!
Well I’m glad your weather cooled down! I agree it’s the humidity that’s such a killer. Luckily you have lots of options (many in the AC). I know it’s a little hard to come back from a great vacation…but nothing beats sleeping in your own bed!
Sleeping in my own bed is always appreciated after a nice vacay! Yes lots of options I appreciate
Love how you chose those mountain views over the hotel gym – sometimes the best workouts come with a side of fresh air and scenery! Aspen sounds like a dream, even if the humidity hit hard once you were back home.
Here’s hoping the cooler temps stick around so you can enjoy more coffee on the deck. Keep crushing it! 💪
Aspen is a dream! Getting out in the fresh air is always my choice over a hotel gym.
Ha!!! I’m the same way with pics, LOL! People almost offer to take my pic (whether I’m doing a solo selfie or with a group)…and I always say,” oh thnx, but I got this! I’m a selfie dork due to all my blogging stuff.” It usually works 😉 I’m glad your weather is giving you a break!
It is a little better this week here too so much appreciated
Ew, that weather sounds horrible! It’s been cooler this week here which has been good, though very muggy now and a big storm promised for tomorrow (I’ve tied my buddleias to the fence as they’re about to flower!).
hope you stay cool too!
oof that weather sounds awful! glad you had a little mountain escape and are able to get in some laps in the pool too! Hopefully the temps stay down for a little!
This week is a little better so far and I will take that!
So glad you could take advantage of the pool in this hot weather! I am sure the temperature drop felt nice!
yes the pool has been a welcome gift!
ha, cute doggie pic! Welcome home again! That Aspen pool view looks amazing. Good choice to hang out there! I see the humidity is going to be 90%+ for my long run tomorrow. Ugh. At least I have a route with a drinking fountain so I can stay hydrated!
The humidity has been brutal this past month!
