The City Of Brotherly Love Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was productive on a number of fronts. It ended with a quick trip to the City of Brotherly Love-Philadelphia.

Weekly Run Down City of brotherly love

Sunday-rest day

We finally had a really nice albeit chilly day for the first of June. I got distracted cleaning out my laundry room in the morning and opted for a rest day. I spent a nice part of the afternoon sitting outside with a book and relaxing. Of course, I did my Peloton stretch to keep up my streak.

Monday-Power walk x 2 + core + glutes and legs + foam rolling class

It was an active Monday-just the way I like it! I started with a power walk on the tread for a warm up and then finished week 1 of Adrian’s glutes and legs program. If you are a Peloton girl, this program is an ass kicker in the best of ways. The afternoon brought another outdoor walk and a foam rolling class.

Tuesday- 5 mile run/walk + barre + core

Feels like summer! While I am not in 5 mile run shape at the moment, I am in run/walk shape for 5 miles. Nice to get out with some friends on a nice sunny day.

Wednesday-long power walk + upper body strength + core

I met a friend for a long walk and then hit my upper body and core class. Later, I met a friend and ordered my dress for my daughter’s wedding. It is not until April but I wanted to buy in season. I am so glad that it is done!

Thursday-core + lower body strength + Drive to Philly

I got in a quick but effective strength workout before we headed off to the city of brotherly love for the weekend. We have 2 charity events and some sightseeing on the schedule.

Friday-walking and sightseeing all around Philly

We started the day with a the Rittenhouse Art Show “art in the park” then headed over to Redding Terminal for lunch. This place is a foodie’s dream come true. Then it was a walk to the Liberty Bell and Independence square. Finally we visited the Revolutionary War museum which was super interesting and I learned a lot. 15K steps and many carbs later, we were ready for a rest before dinner.

Saturday-Peloton hike + upper body strength

seen on my morning walk

I got in a quick Peloton tread hike and upper body workout before heading out for the day. We attended a The Great Chef’s event fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand benefiting children’s cancer research. It was a huge space filled with top chefs from all over the country cooking and sharing their delicious delicacies. Check out my IG for all details.

Well done for getting your dress sorted! I have started run / walking again finally (or walk / running, really) and it does feel good though early days and I’m nervous my Achilles will flare up again.

Your Philly trip really sounds fun, and quite active 😉 Mentioning glutes and Adrian in the same sentence, LOL, that sounds dangerous! I might have to take a peek and give it a try, though…

Nice to get that dress sorted so early, I can imagine you’ll be busy enough closer to the wedding!
Events like the Great Chef are so much fun, although I can’t enjoy them anymore personally (because of being coeliac). In the past we’ve been to a food festival in Italy where there were stands to taste all sorts of local dishes and products.
Looks like you also got to enjoy some single leg RDLs!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      06/10/2025 at 11:46 am

There were lots of foods I chose not to eat as well but a fun event to be able to support. I do love single RDL’s
