The “BER” Months Are the Best Months Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week I am savoring fall and celebrating the “BER” months. Yes, I am a lover of October, November and  December in that order. Here’s a peek into my week of fall fitness.

The “BER” Months are the best months Weekly Run Down

Sunday- 3 mile weighted vest walk + painting + core

It was a gorgeous day for a walk with a friend. The “BER” months are the best months. Then, I gloved up (so as not to mess up my manicure!) and took on the job of painting my guest room. Admittedly, this was harder than I expected but I got it done. It is not perfect but it will do! My reward was ordering a bunch of little accessories to make the room look fun.

Monday-Peloton tread hike + upper body strength + core + stretch

Starting my Monday strong is one of my favorite fitness habits. I realized I’ve been slacking on stretching a bit so I am focusing on getting that back into my routine this week.

Tuesday- 3.5 mile run/walk + core

It was a brisk, sunny morning that was just perfect for a run on our favorite trail. The trees are just starting to show signs of fall and I’m all for it.

Wednesday-3 mile walk + upper body strength + core

It was a brisk fall morning just the kind I like and perfect for an outdoor walk. I then hit my gym for some upper body and core work. When I walked back up my driveway, I had a little friend waiting for me.

Thursday- 4+ run miles + core + stretch

It was another gorgeous morning here! I am loving these “BER” months. I’m finding my running mojo slowly coming back.

Friday- Peloton tread hike + upper body strength and core

A short but targeted workout today. I then “kidnapped” my husband for a few hours. We went out to the Virginia exerbs for a wine tasting on a gorgeous fall day. It was great to be outside and away from it all even for just a few hours. The leaves are just starting to change and fall is in the air.

Saturday- + core +stretch

I had a nice sleep in and ended up running errands so we will call that a rest day.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Your trip to the vineyards sounds like so much fun! I’m glad to see you are getting some cooler weather. I’m up early this morning–going to drive up to Wisco to run some trails and do some leaf peeping! This is my favorite time of year for sure.

Leaf peeping is the best and wine. lol.

Glad your running mojo is coming back.

I am with you on the BER months! Fall running really is good for running mojo!

      It sure is!

I like the “BER” months in theory, but for us our best weather is in January-February. We did get a little cooldown this week and it definitely helped!
Your wine tasting excursion looks lovely! I love the leaves changing colors at the tops of those trees, and your fall outfits. And wine- what more do you need.

It is fun to see the leaves changing! Hope you continue to get some cooler weather

Ha, why have I never noticed that the last 3 months are “BER” months?
The photos of your autumn are wonderful – especially the one with the deer! Do they roam freely around your area? Nearly like Wendy’s trails!

yes, we have tons of deer around us and we have to be careful when driving in certain areas bc they just run out. Our backyard always has deer and they really are a menace to our plants but cute

I get it about the “ber” months if you have very hot summers. Glad to hear you’re back with your running mojo!
How nice with an autumn wine tasting! I was hoping we would be in Italy for the vendemmia but we were too late, and in addition the harvest was very poor this year because of the drought.
    Enjoy your week!

Autumn is really nice around here so I am taking full advantage

Yay for the return of your running mojo! I don’t typically mind October but November and December aren’t often too great around here for running. As always, I love the variety of activity you get in!

Variety is key for me 🙂

You obviously like the BER months more than I do 🙂 I like them, but I’m still quite loyal to “second U” months (JUne, JUly, AUgust), LOL. I’m glad the running mojo is staging a comeback!

I like summer for travel and pool 🙂 just not running

I love the ‘BER’ months, too. I am ready for fall now…. although it’s still pretty warm here, and no rain yet.
Brisk mornings are the best for running!

I love the deer! We’ve got back from holiday (last Wednesday) to find autumn has started – my acer has started to turn colour, too. My favourite season although can I find my running light(s)? I can not.

Good job on the painting. It’s a lot of prep work, but what a feeling of accomplishment when it’s finished!
Wine tasting is always a good reason to get away 🙂

      I did feel accomplished!
