In honor of Thanksgiving, I’d like to say thanks to you all for reading my blog over the last year. In the tradition of the season of giving, I’m joining up with some other fabulous blogging friends in a “Blog Hop”. What’s a Blog Hop? It’s a link to some of my favorite blogger friends who are also giving away some incredible products. You can find them all listed below and “hop” on over to their blogs to enter their giveaways. It’s a great way to discover some new blogs and some great products. Happy “hopping”!
A few months ago I did a full review on the Run Mino. I have been using my Mino and continue to think it’s a great product. They have given me 2 more Mino’s to raffle off to you all. See below to enter.
So what is a Mino? What does it do?
Mino was designed to monitor the wear & tear that you put on shoes and alert you when to replace them. The idea is to replace your shoes before you “out run” them to prevent injuries.
We all know you are supposed to replace your shoes every 300-500 miles but who can keep track of that? Does running on different surfaces affect the life span of shoes? Does the weight of the runner affect the shoe’s integrity? Does the style of a runner matter? I don’t know about you but I’ve always wondered how to know when to replace my shoes.
Mino is a 2.5mm thick soft foam insert that goes right under the liner or orthodic of your shoe. It is calibrated to count 400 miles of compression to the mid-sole of your shoe. Right smack in the middle of the 300-500 mile suggested life span of a running shoe.
“There are 6 progressive LED’s that light up once you hit a certain amount of compressions per the miles you have run. We count walk steps and run steps differently in the algorithm and average it all out b/c we have found some people walk and run in the shoes (and cross-train). We recommend every 3-4 weeks, lift up the sock liner, press and hold the blue “O” on mino to display the lights and see how far along you are.” (Runmino)
So whether you are a walker, runner or cross trainer Run Mino can help you determine when to change out your shoes. I picked the Mino for this giveaway because I think it has universal appeal. Anyone can benefit from adding it to their shoe. I’m so thankful to you all for continuing to read and comment on my blog and I know that 2 of you will enjoy using the Mino. Enter below and please remember to check out all the great blogs in the “hop”. A special thanks to the hostesses Runawaybridalplanner.blogspot.com & MCMmamaruns.com.
This sounds cool! I usually change my running shoes every year or so…
wow every year? That seems like a long time. I am more like every 4 months or things start to hurt.
Cool idea! I used to change my shoes every 3 months, but now that I have different pairs going at the same time, each one lasts longer.
That’s a great idea too but then you have to keep track of them all!
These Mino things sound awesome! I tend to run shoes into the ground
oh that’s not good! Sounds like you need to win a Mino-good luck and thanks for stopping by
I should probably use something like this. I just run in them until they don’t feel good on a long run and then downgrade them to hanging out shoes…
These are great really and you won’t even feel it in there. Fun to do the hop!
Ok, I REALLY need to try this. well, you know I haven’t been the best at switching out my shoes when I should :/
Yes I know! This really is a great little tool to remind you
I’m only on my second pair of running shoes, but switched them out at around 300. I didn’t really wait for them to get to the failure point, but subbed them out to just be every day / walking shoes, because I got a new pair for about 60% off thanks to new models dropping prices on Amazon.
Sometimes I can find mine on sale but it never seems to be at the right time. This is a great little gadget to keep track
This is great! I usually change my shoes out whenever I see them really worn out. This sounds like just what I need!
It’s great I really think it works well. Thanks for entering 🙂
I try to change out every 300 miles but if the wear looks really bad I change them out sooner.
That’s what I try to do as well. Thanks for entering the giveaway-good luck
well I have only been running a couple of years so I buy new ones at the beginning of the year 🙂 I need this product!
yes you do!!
About every 250 to 300 miles
That sounds great I bet this Mino would help you remember. Thanks for entering-hope to see you again
i would have to say about every 6 months they can really get worn down thats why and having comfortable runnung shoes is important. if i dont it makes my drive for wanting to go for a run diminish
Thanks for entering and I know the Run Mino would help you remember to change those out
I have a million different pairs so I rotate around to make them all last 🙂
Rotating them out is a great idea-it’s hard to remember how many miles I put on each one
this would be super awesome. i am terrible about tracking my miles on my shoes
It is a great little product-good luck 🙂
I change mine often but I also have several pairs going at once from different makers. Prob every 300 miles.
It’s hard to keep track of diff pairs-good luck with the giveaway
I try and change them out around 400 miles. I use mapmyrun and it just added a gear tracker as an option, but sometimes I forget to choose my gear and it doesn’t track them. This would be so much nicer to use than an app!
Yes so much easier to use!! Thanks for entering
Usually retire after 6 mos (but rotate a bit during that time too)
6 months is a long time! You could sure use one of the Minos
This will be great to get an accurate count!
Absolutely! You need one 🙂
I have never heard of these, but they are right up my alley! I try to keep track of how many miles I put on my shoes. I always end up running in them way past their due date though.
Sounds like you could definitely use a Mino! Thanks for entering and for stopping by. Hope to see you again
I usually change them a few times a year, but this year I’m injured so they are lasting longer.
I’ve had a number of injuries myself this year. Changing my shoes often helps though. Thanks for entering 🙂
I have a rotating set of 3 so it usually takes me a bit longer, but I always know it is time to start a new rotation when my favorite pair loses its perkiness… but I am very interested in a more scientific way of knowing when it is time to let go…
Sounds like you are the perfect person to use a Mino! Good luck 🙂 thanks for stopping by
I am really bad about it and wait until i start feeling an injury start… eek
Ooh that’s not good you need one of the Mino trackers. Good luck! Thanks for stopping by the blog & hope to see you again
I have been trying hard to keep track and replace them every 300 miles but my favorite pair is getting close to 400.
Time for a new pair of shoes and a Mino tracker! Good luck and thanks for reading today hope to see you again
every 6 months!
That’s a long time! I think you could use a mino-thanks for entering
I change my running shoes about every 6 months.
You never really know when it’s time though so good luck with the raffle! Thanks so much for stopping by hope you enjoy the blog 🙂
I replace my running shoes when mine start to wear too much or come apart somewhere
Yikes! Sounds like you could use a Mino! Good luck and thanks for entering
I change my running shoes every 3-4 months.
That’s a good time frame! Thanks for entering
I change my running shoes once a year.
Wow that’s long time! You need a Mino
I change mine about every 5-6 months. Thanks for the giveaway.
ooh that sounds like a long time-you need a Mino
What a wonderful idea. I never know when to change my shoes out. I just got a new pair, I think I might have to get this for them!
It’s a great product! Good luck and thanks so much for stopping by 🙂
This sounds like a great idea. I’ve kind of just been going by feel but I knew there had to be a more scientific way 🙂
LOL I believe there are more scientific ways!!
I really need these. I have no idea when to get new shoes… Mine are usually falling apart before I replace them but I also was not running regularly before…
It’s super important to keep from getting injured especially as you increase your mileage.
What will they think of next?! Very cool idea. I buy shoes about every six months although it seems my summer shoes wear out quicker than my winter ones. All that sweat…
Interesting never thought of that. Thanks for entering!
Every few months. Whenever they feel “dead” or my knees/back ache.
ooh that’s not good! You need a Run Mino!
I wear Reebox and the brand just lasts forever, I have had same shoes for 5 years.
Wow really?! I’ve never heard of shoes lasting that long!!
About every 6 months I will do the change. I have different shoes depending on the weather
Sounds like you can use a run mino-good luck and thanks for entering
Around every 250 miles.
That’s a good amount! Thanks for entering good luck
Seems like my shoes last 3-4 months, I try to keep them around 400 miles before switching them out:)
the Mino is a great way to remember to switch them out. Thanks for hosting the giveaway and for entering. It was fun to participate
Just started, so I’ll be looking to change them out for the first time soon.
The mino is a great way to remember when to switch them out. Thanks for stopping by and for entering
I’m not sure how often I change my running shoes…I rotate a few pairs.
I change them when I win another pair. So maybe once a year.
Wow that sounds like a long time to run in shoes! I think you need to win one of these!
I’m new to running, so I’m just starting to think about shopping for my second pair. The Mino looks like it would be SO helpful!
The Mino is a great way to track your shoes thanks for stopping by and entering-good luck
I try to change them every 4-500 miles but it’s hard to remember.
It is hard to remember but the Mino really helps!
I try to trade out shoes about 300 miles or 6 months.
That sounds great! Thanks for entering 🙂
