Thankful For My Readers Blog Hop & Run Mino Giveaway

In honor of Thanksgiving, I’d like to say thanks to you all for reading my blog over the last year. In the tradition of the season of giving, I’m joining up with some other fabulous blogging friends in a “Blog Hop”. What’s a Blog Hop? It’s a link to some of my favorite blogger friends who are also giving away some incredible products. You can find them all listed below and “hop” on over to their blogs to enter their giveaways. It’s a great way to discover some new blogs and some great products. Happy “hopping”!

Thankful For My Followers Hop

A few months ago I did a full review on the  Run Mino. I have been using my Mino and continue to think it’s a great product. They have given me 2 more Mino’s to raffle off to you all. See below to enter.

So what is a Mino? What does it do?

Mino was designed to monitor the wear & tear that you put on shoes and alert you when to replace them. The idea is to replace your shoes before you “out run” them to prevent injuries.

We all know you are supposed to replace your shoes every 300-500 miles but who can keep track of that? Does running on different surfaces affect the life span of shoes? Does the weight of the runner affect the shoe’s integrity? Does the style of a runner matter? I don’t know about you but I’ve always wondered how to know when to replace my shoes.

Mino is a 2.5mm thick soft foam insert that goes right under the liner or orthodic of your shoe. It is calibrated to count 400 miles of compression to the mid-sole of your shoe. Right smack in the middle of the 300-500 mile suggested life span of a running shoe.

“There are 6 progressive LED’s that light up once you hit a certain amount of compressions per the miles you have run. We count walk steps and run steps differently in the algorithm and average it all out b/c we have found some people walk and run in the shoes (and cross-train). We recommend every 3-4 weeks, lift up the sock liner, press and hold the blue “O” on mino to display the lights and see how far along you are.” (Runmino)

So whether you are a walker, runner or cross trainer Run Mino can help you determine when to change out your shoes. I picked the Mino for this giveaway because I think it has universal appeal. Anyone can benefit from adding it to their shoe. I’m so thankful to you all for continuing to read and comment on my blog and I know that 2 of you will enjoy using the Mino. Enter below and please remember to check out all the great blogs in the “hop”. A special thanks to the hostesses Runawaybridalplanner.blogspot.com & MCMmamaruns.com.

This sounds cool! I usually change my running shoes every year or so…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/02/2014 at 9:20 pm

wow every year? That seems like a long time. I am more like every 4 months or things start to hurt.

  2. Coco says

    11/02/2014 at 11:48 pm

Cool idea! I used to change my shoes every 3 months, but now that I have different pairs going at the same time, each one lasts longer.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 6:46 am

That’s a great idea too but then you have to keep track of them all!

  3. Benton says

    11/02/2014 at 11:49 pm

  4. MCM Mama says

    11/03/2014 at 1:18 am

I should probably use something like this. I just run in them until they don’t feel good on a long run and then downgrade them to hanging out shoes…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 6:48 am

These are great really and you won’t even feel it in there. Fun to do the hop!

  5. Sue @ This Mama Runs for Cupcakes says

    11/03/2014 at 8:08 am

Ok, I REALLY need to try this. well, you know I haven’t been the best at switching out my shoes when I should :/

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 10:34 pm

    11/03/2014 at 1:13 pm

I’m only on my second pair of running shoes, but switched them out at around 300. I didn’t really wait for them to get to the failure point, but subbed them out to just be every day / walking shoes, because I got a new pair for about 60% off thanks to new models dropping prices on Amazon.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 10:45 pm

Sometimes I can find mine on sale but it never seems to be at the right time. This is a great little gadget to keep track

  7. Sharon says

    11/03/2014 at 1:58 pm

This is great! I usually change my shoes out whenever I see them really worn out. This sounds like just what I need!

      11/03/2014 at 10:47 pm

It’s great I really think it works well. Thanks for entering 🙂

  8. Lisa Jones says

    11/03/2014 at 2:14 pm

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 10:52 pm

That’s what I try to do as well. Thanks for entering the giveaway-good luck

  12. Nicole @ Fitful Focus says

    11/03/2014 at 3:40 pm

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 10:55 pm

Rotating them out is a great idea-it’s hard to remember how many miles I put on each one

  13. Sarah says

    11/03/2014 at 4:11 pm

this would be super awesome. i am terrible about tracking my miles on my shoes

  15. Michelle C says

    11/03/2014 at 5:26 pm

I try and change them out around 400 miles. I use mapmyrun and it just added a gear tracker as an option, but sometimes I forget to choose my gear and it doesn’t track them. This would be so much nicer to use than an app!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 11:03 pm

Yes so much easier to use!! Thanks for entering

  16. liz l says

      Absolutely! You need one 🙂

  18. Sarah says

    11/03/2014 at 6:58 pm

I have never heard of these, but they are right up my alley! I try to keep track of how many miles I put on my shoes. I always end up running in them way past their due date though.

  20. Danielle J says

    11/03/2014 at 9:01 pm

I have a rotating set of 3 so it usually takes me a bit longer, but I always know it is time to start a new rotation when my favorite pair loses its perkiness… but I am very interested in a more scientific way of knowing when it is time to let go…

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/03/2014 at 11:08 pm

Sounds like you are the perfect person to use a Mino! Good luck 🙂 thanks for stopping by

  22. BreannaS says

    11/03/2014 at 10:29 pm

  32. HoHo Runs says
