SweatSTR could be a game changer

I love to look fashionable and put together in my workout clothes so when I saw the SweatSTR in Real Simple Magazine I knew I had to check it out. So what is it? How does it work?

http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0494/3653/t/3/assets/logo.png?470

Quite simply, it is a scarf and a sweat towel in one. We all like to think we just glow when we workout but we sweat and when we work hard we sweat a lot.  Sure you can hang the gym towel on the elliptical or spin bike and then wipe your face with it but did you ever stop to think about how clean that gym machine really is? Me neither! Enter SweatSTR your own personal sweat scarf combo.

I was given a lime green SweatSTR to test out but as always all opinions are my own. So here’s what I think. I loved the idea of wearing a scarf to the gym and thought it really dressed up my outfit. I don’t usually wear scarves there because it would be just another piece of  clothing to keep track of while exercising. Since I never took it off, no problem there.

I was happy with the weight and feel of the SwewatSTR and didn’t mind having it on at all. I wore it to my spin class yesterday and got lots of questions and compliments on it. I used it many times during the class to wipe off my face and neck.

I normally would use the towel the gym provided to wipe my sweat from my face but if you think about it, the towel sits on the bike, that might not be as clean as I think it is. I am such a germophobe that I can’t believe this never occurred to me before!

Right now the SweatSTR in available in the colors above. Currently, they are only available on their website for ~$19.

Do you sweat in style? @SweatSTR #fitnessFriday #FitnFashionable

-Adds a stylish edge to your workout apparel.

-Keeps your towel off of the gym equipment.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Awesome! This sounds like such a great idea, especially as it is so easy to wipe that sweat off! I am not sure I could run with it, but for things like this, perfect!

      01/09/2015 at 8:20 am

No I don’t think you would run with it but would be nice to wear before and after your run and on cross training days.

Interesting. I’m not sure if I would use it–I feel like I would get hot, and I”m weird about things around my neck when I’m exercising. But I know quite a few people that would benefit from it!
I would go with the most obnoxious colors, of course! Have a great weekend!

      01/09/2015 at 8:26 am

Ha ha. Actually I was worried about it making my hot but it was really lightweight and I loved it during spin class. I wouldn’t wear it to run in though but would be nice afterwards to wipe off the sweat.

Hmm, I’m not at all a germaphobe, so I can’t imagine using one. Not to mention, I mostly run, so I doubt I’d use it much. Glad it works for you though.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 11:28 am

It was a fun fashion accessory and I wouldn’t use it for running but might like it to mop the sweat up after a run while I drive home.

well i think that is a fabulous idea! why couldn’t we have thought of it first??? I can see it to be popular for the bikers and spinners- don’t think I would wear it for running or yoga but it is very clever and down right cute!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 11:28 am

It is clever and cute. I might use it pre and post yoga. I know I need to invent something cool myself!

  5. Coco says

    01/09/2015 at 8:50 am

That sounds pretty cool – I bet it’s softer than those gym towels too!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 11:30 am

Way softer and kind of cute and fashionable. 🙂

  6. Annmarie says

    01/09/2015 at 8:57 am

Wow! What an awesome idea! I actually could really use one of these especially when I am running on the treadmill. The towel I use always falls off the handle, onto the treadmill then into the air where I can’t get it. I’ve nearly killed myself trying to pick it up while running! Definitely checking Sweatstr out- thanks for sharing!!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 11:33 am

oh I hope you like it! They are definitely cuter than the gym towels.

  7. Toni @runninglovingliving says

    01/09/2015 at 10:30 am

That’s pretty cool. I bring my own sweat towels to the gym. I would love to try tis, but not sure how it would feel while I was running on the treadmill. I love the style of it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 12:11 pm

I don’t know that I would wear it while running but before and afterwards would be great. Hope you check it out.

Oh my gosh I am such a germaphobe too and I never thought about that. I usually will only use the side of the towel that is not touching the bike. But I am sure sometimes it does touch. What an innovative product.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 3:33 pm

It is a cool and fashionable item. I am going to use it a lot I think.

This is an awesome idea! I definitely need this when on the mat or working through sets of pull-ups (I kid you not my hands never sweat until I want to train pull-ups, smh)

I love the grey long-sleeved T in your first pic. Where from?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 3:39 pm

It is a great idea!I really like it. If you mean the purple long sleeve it is from Lululemon.

That towel is REALLY CUTE!!!! I can see you using it for spin or something like that. Not sure I could use it in boot camp with all of the running, up and down we do. Love the color.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 3:40 pm

Agree wouldn’t use it for running but would use it for before and after class. The colors are great.

  16. Stephanie says

    01/09/2015 at 3:12 pm

That is the kind of idea that is so simple and amazing that I wonder why I didn’t think of it first? I can’t even remember how many times my towel fell on the treadmill at the gym… Yuck! I love the colors and would love to buy one!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 3:45 pm

  19. Nicole @ Fitful Focus says

    01/09/2015 at 5:54 pm

What a great idea, especially for the winter. I hate putting on my scarf and coat after a workout because I’m all sweaty and gross, but this would be great to soak up the sweat, look semi less like a hot mess, and stay warm while I’m walking to the subway! Thanks for joining in the link up this week!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 6:44 pm

I loved the product and I can see me using it again and getting some more colors of course.

  20. Kim says

    01/09/2015 at 7:16 pm

Hmm..I can see how that would be great for some activities. I’m super classy when I run on the treadmill and just grab my T-shirt off the handles to wipe sweat.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 10:46 pm

Ha well I guess that works too! 🙂 I don’t know that I would use it for running but I like it for spin, yoga and maybe post run to wipe off the sweat.

  21. HoHo Runs says

Why can’t I think of neat stuff like this? I would definitely want lime green! I’m thinking it might be good for gardening too.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 10:49 pm

I never thought of using it for gardening but why not?! I really liked the lime green color as well. Check it out!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/09/2015 at 10:51 pm

Yup great for bike and elliptical but I wouldn’t run with it either. It did give me a nice stylish feel.
