Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week we hit the slopes in Aspen for a little ski vacay. A few days away was just what we needed!
Ski Ya Later Weekly Run Down
Sunday-3 ish mile run + core
We had a jarring 30 degree temperature drop last night. It was nice to get out with my squad for a short run before we left for our trip.
Monday-core + full body strength + afternoon walk
I do love a solid Monday workout! I’m starting week 3 of my training program. It felt good to get in a tough one before heading out for vacation tomorrow. Later, I got in a chilly walk with friend to get those steps in.
Tuesday-travel to Aspen,Colorado + stretch
It was a super early wake up and travel day to Aspen, Colorado. We got in lots of steps in multiple airports. I got fitted for my skis and we walked around town a bit in the afternoon.
Wednesday- Ski Day! + pre and post stretch
It was a picture perfect day for skiing! I’m still a little nervous out there but lots of fun! My Oura ring always freaks out here because of the altitude my stats look a lot different. Not to worry Oura, I am a-okay.
Thursday- warm up + ski day!
I was a little nervous about skiing while it was snowing but it turned out to be a gorgeous day for some fresh powder snow. It felt great to end the day feeling more confident on m skis.
Friday-full body strength + core + lots of walking
I took the day off from skiing and walked around town. We got 6-8 inches of snow last night and then woke up to a gorgeous sunny day. I hit the hotel gym and then walked all around town working on my Aprés Ski vibes.
Saturday-core and stretch class + walking around town
I decided to just chill again today while my husband skied with some friends. I’m happy and satisfied that I made it through another ski vacation without any injuries! While the altitude is a bit rough, Aspen is such a fantastic city to vacation in all year around.
My husband’s considering trying an Oura Ring, do you rate it, I assume you do! Lovely to see sun and blue skies in your skiing pics though we did bring some sun back with us from Spain.
Hope your time in Spain was nice! Yes, I do love my Oura but sometimes I get mad at it lol
what a fun getaway and yay for not getting hurt while skiing! I know that’s a major thing and hopefully you got over your fear. Glad you got to also enjoy yourself with some apres ski fun!
yes, every time it gets better with worrying about hurting myself.
Looks like a fun time. I’d be hanging out in the lodge by the fire. I don’t ski anymore.
Glad to hear you didn’t get hurt.
See you soon!!!
it was a nice week of skiing and relaxing
It sounds like you had a fabulous trip! Glad you’re getting more confident on your skis since the accident.
I think I am!
Yes, getting through a ski vacation without getting injured is a major win! It sounds really fun, and the photos are beautiful.
It is a beautiful place to visit! Can’t wait to come back
Your trip looks fabulous! The pic with the falling snow is great! I think I’d enjoy walking around, sight-seeing and shopping, over skiing, LOL.
I was happy to have a mix of both!
Sounds like you had a great trip! Glad to hear they got more snow out there.
we had 2 big snow dumps and perfect ski weather
Aspen looks so fun. We haven’t made it there yet, but one of these days we will. Glad there were no injuries!!
Highly recommend a visit!
Oh, skiing in Aspen! How exciting! I hope to get on the slopes again this season. I was supposed to go to Tahoe in January but I was sick! Looks like an amazing time!
I hope you make it to Tahoe-I have not skied there but here its fabulous
How amazing! I wish I wasn’t so scared to put a boot back on. Anything rubbing on my repaired ankle freaks me out and ski boots are so tight.
As always, love the pics and thank you for sharing your adventures!
It did take me 20 years to get my courage back up!
