Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down. This week marks the start of Hanukkah. We used to go all out when our kids were little and still at home but have pared down quite a bit the last few years. This year, I feel much more connected to my faith and feel it’s important to represent whenever possible. So, I leaned into Hanukkah a bit more this week. Here’s a peek into my week.
Shine Bright
Sunday- 3 mile run + stretch
The rain stopped by mid morning and I headed out for a short solo run. One of my besties gave me this running shirt that says “peace on earth” in a number of different languages. Wouldn’t that be a fabulous gift to the world? I thought it a perfect shirt for this week. I also pulled out my “run merry” shoes from last year.
Our son came over to watch the Eagles game. Hanukkah did not start until Thursday, but decided to make a cake like he used to love as a kid. It looks like a kid decorated it lol but tasted really yummy.
Monday-Peloton barre + core + legs strength + cycle
I was seriously dragging this morning after a late night of football watching. But, Mondays are a state of mind right? Getting moving always improves my mood. I started a new strength training split with Andy via Peloton so we will see how this one goes!
Tuesday-4 mile run + stretch
I am sticking with the 4:1 intervals again this week and feeling better with every run. We ran into Santa on our run today.
Wednesday- barre + Peloton walk + biceps & back strength + cycle
A little bit of everything today. Loving my strength split program with Andy this week. Biceps on fire. No time for a photo today oops busy afternoon,
Thursday- 4.5 mile run + stretch class
Shine bright! Happy first night of Hanukkah to those who celebrate. I felt pretty good out there today extending my distance a little bit each week.
Friday-core + Upper body push + Cycle
I finished this week strong with Andy’s strength split. It was tough and I had to drop weight. Sign of an effective workout I hope. I jumped onto Jenn’s Hanukkah ride. It was so nice to see so much support for this ride.
Saturday-Early wake up and travel to Aruba

I lit the candles myself a few nights bc I was the only one home but I feel it’s important this year. I did have fun with the festive gear. The kids are coming down next week 🙂
Aahh, Aruba!
I think Peloton really stepped it up with Hanukkah classes this year.
So glad your return to running is going well!

I have always been spiritual & religious, but I don’t belong to a temple. We still ight the candles, though, every year.

Happy Hanukkah!! I love your festive gear, and am going to try to find the shirt with all the different languages on it. Great message! I’m also headed to the basement, for some biking, in a short while, so I’m adding Jenn’s Hanukkah ride to the roster (I had not seen that one yet). Enjoy our trip!
