Thanks for joining Coco and me for The Ultimate Coffee Date today. I will be joining you all at sea! The hubs and I set sail yesterday from Vancouver cruising our way to Alaska. I might be a little late for coffee but please save me a cup or two. I’ve got lots to share with you all today so let’s get right to it.

September Ultimate Coffee Date At Sea

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…The hubs and I are on our first Empty Nester trip. We arrived in Vancouver late Thursday and boarded our 11 day cruise to Alaska yesterday. Go big or go home right?! I suspect I will be posting a ridiculous amount of photos over the next two weeks so stay tuned for those.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…In true runner form, I signed up for a city running tour in Vancouver yesterday. Can’t wait to share all the details of this fun adventure with you all. I will be posting a full review next week. Vancouver is such a fun, vibrant city. I wish we had more time there.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I have a philosophical ban on all things pumpkin until October. You won’t see me posting any pumpkin recipes until at least mid October. I saw this display at the beginning of August next to all the Halloween candy. Seriously! Why can we not enjoy the season we are in?

Ultimate coffee date at sea

If we were having coffee, I would tell you….Have you ever noticed that once you talk about a place or a topic with someone, it all the sudden starts to pop up on your social media feed. It’s almost like someone is listening! Is it just me or does this happen to you?

Thanks for joining for the Ultimate Coffee Date at Sea today. If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

LOL, Google ^is^ listening! That’s how all those ads work! I loved visiting Vancouver. I bet it’s cooler there too. And in Alaska. Looking forward to following you on your trip.

I am so envious of your high sea adventures!! I look forward to seeing “all the photos” you predicted you’ll be posting. And like you said, I have also had that eery experience where things start showing up on social media right after you’d chatted with people about them….#twilightzone

Wow! The Alaska cruise sounds wonderful. I am sure you will have a great time. I LOVED Vancouver. we were there 4 years ago and spent about 5 days exploring the city. It’s the most international city I have ever been in, including NYC. People from all parts of the world are there.

Agree with you on the pumpkin spice thing too. Way overdone! 🙂

I’ve been getting that big brother feeling every time I do a Google search! I barely start typing and Google knows what I’m looking for. Creepy, right?

Enjoy your trip! I’m so jealous. I’d love to go to Alaska. Post away!

I’m so glad I’m not the only person who isn’t ready for pumpkin flavored everything!! It seems like everyone is rushing to get to fall but I’m content with summer over here.

    Enjoy your cruise!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/02/2018 at 6:27 pm

It just does not seem right to have pumpkin when it’s so hot!

I feel you on the ads bringing things into my feed. Bizarre at times. Enjoy your trip, can’t wait to see the photos.
And yes on pumpkin — also having it everywhere before it’s even harvested means you lose all pretense that it’s pumpkin and not chemical. Not opposed to peppermint year round though

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/02/2018 at 6:30 pm

Yes a lot of it is processed pumpkin for sure!

I have always wanted to do a city running tour! I am excited to hear all about it! And I so agree with you about talking about something and it shows up in your social media feed! I metioned something at work about the Spark Water Bottle and now every advertisment on my work computer is the Spark Water Bottle! And no I have never searched for it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/02/2018 at 6:39 pm

      It’s really a weird phenomenon!

  14. Thomas Paul says

    09/02/2018 at 6:13 pm

That thing you mentioned about places you talk about start showing up in your social media is so weird!! My cousin told me the same thing. It happened to him too.
    It’s scary.
He said it might be something in our cellphones..
No idea, but it’s creepy haha

  15. Farrah says

    09/03/2018 at 7:37 am

August is way way way too early to be breaking out all the fall/Halloween things! I feel like they keep moving everything earlier and earlier!

I’ve definitely noticed this as well–I’m pretty sure they’re listening somehow, haha. ._.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      09/03/2018 at 2:27 pm

I know everything keeps getting moved earlier it’s kind of crazy!

Obviously I’m late to the party too, but that’s just me having a senior moment. Enjoy your cruise! Vancouver is a great city, I’ve been several times. And Alaska is stunning!

And oh yes, things pop up in my feed that make me feel watched all the time! It’s not just you.
