Wow is it really time for another Runfessions? This monthly tell all link up is a fun way to get all things running and fitness off our chests. I’ve got lots to spill today so let’s get right to this September Runfessions.
September Runfessions
I Runfess…
This was the first week of the fall session for my Girls on The Run Team and my 10th season coaching at our elementary school. I love the start of each new session and the excitement of working with new group of preteens. Watching them progress as runners and grow as a team throughout the season always warms my heart.
I Runfess…
Seriously this weather has got to go! We seem to be trapped in a perpetual “Groundhog Day” weather pattern where it literally rains almost everyday. I saw a report that stated the DC/Virginia are got more rain than Seattle and London so far this year. We have been running through it like champs but I am really over it. Come on Mother Nature!
I Runfess…
As I have mentioned a few times, I am still in Physical Therapy for my achilles strain and I am currently running with intervals. I am feeling quite undertrained for all the races on my fall schedule. Up this weekend, The Rock Creek Relay where I will be running about 9 miles as part of a 3 person team. This will be my longest run in a while. Wish me luck!
I Runfess…
Having said that, I am having a hard time not signing up for a bunch of fun Holiday races. Spoken like a true runner who gets serious FOMO.
Those are my September Runfessions…What are yours?

Running on Happy, Fairytales and fitness
Not bad. I am really enjoying this runfessions event regularly. Thanks for the sharing us.
thanks for reading!
I’m signed up for my Turkey Trot half marathon. We’ll see what comes after that!
Fingers crossed October is a better month for all of us
Wow, your 10 season coaching, that is so amazing! It rains everyday in Florida at 3:30 but it doesn’t last that long. Nothing like you are getting back at home, my sisters says she can pretty much take a boat to school at this point. LOL
seriously our back yard is like a swamp!
I do miss coaching. I should see if there’s a Girls on the Run chapter around here. It really is so rewarding.
I’m pretty sure that at this point I’d take rain over what we’ve got going, which is basically summer part 2. As I sit here writing this, at 5:30 am, it is already (or still) 80 degrees on its way to 108. I will say that as I’m looking at my weather app, there is some hope because apparently, it will be 99 by Sunday (2 digit weather for the win!) and 89 by Monday. Crazy but sounds pretty good to me!
I cannot even imagine running in those temps! Yes coaching the girls is so rewarding I really love it
When I was driving to work today, someone mentioned how it felt like Philly was switched with Seattle with how much rain we’ve been getting. Fingers crossed with both get sunshine soon!
Yes! This weekend looks good
Good luck with your relay – I hope you start to feel better soon!
Thanks! Hoping it goes well with the achilles
I didn’t have FOMO, and I still wanted to do something fun around Thanksgiving. Training for my next race in February starts in December, so the turkey trot is a no pressure race. Just something to train for and enjoy my neighborhood decorations.
Turkey trots are always a blast!
I give you credit for running in this rain – it feels like it’s never ending and I runfess my motivation to deal with it is waning fast!
I am currently not signed up for any holiday races either. Unfortunately I don’t have weekends off in October. So no Halloween race for me. Hope your heel feels better soon.
I didn’t realize you guys were getting that much rain!
As a Mom of elementary kids, I love that you work with those kids – so wonderful!!!
They are lucky to have you! xoxo
I haven’t signed up for anything! Oddly, I don’t feel the FOMO yet. But I’m sure it’s coming! Good luck at the relay.
I love that you are so involved with GOTR. IT seems like such a cool organization and you help so many young girls gain confidence through running.
Good luck at your race this weekend!
I absolutely love it! Thanks excited to be racing this weekend
Have so much fun with the new GOTR season! I’m sort of bummed my “services are no longer needed” with our school’s program due to an over abundance of volunteers. That’s a good problem to have! Have a fun race!
well we certainly do not have an “over abundance” of volunteers. I could actually use a few more. Too bad you don’t live here!
I hope your achilles is doing better!!! That’s a total buzzkill on all that rain! My condolences. Best of luck on your relay…hope you have decent weather.
The weather is amazing this weekend finally! I am almost afraid to type that 🙂 for fear it may change
I have such runner FOMO too! Every time I want to sign up for one I text my friend instead and they talk me down haha
I know the struggle is real 🙂
Oh, what holiday races? I hope the Relay went well! At least the weather is nice this weekend.
I am definitely doing Thanksgiving day 10K in Bethesda, either Jingle or the 10K in Ashburn not sure yet. The relay was fun and great weather
Ten years is quite impressive …keep up the good work! If you haven’t run your relay race already, good luck! If you have, I hope it went well and the achilles cooperated!
Thanks the achilles felt pretty good but I’m exhausted 🙂
I love your friend’s Batman shirt
Hope your achilles recovers in time for your holiday runs
And yes, saw that DC rain tweet somewhere too. A colleague is relocating to MD and told her to take our rain with her
It’s been just crazy the past month!
Wow, ten seasons with GOTR – the girls are lucky to have you as their coach!
