Scary October 2024 Runfessions and Confessions

Ooh it’s that time again! I’ve got some scary October 2024 Runfessions and Confessions to share. Let’s get right to it. Thanks to Marcia for hosting.

Runfessions

Scary October 2024 Runfessions and Confessions

I Runfessions and Confess…

I realize that many people use GLP-1 medications to treat their various medical issues and I have no issues with that at all in any way. However, I was a little surprised and mildly offended when I received not one but two requests from companies asking me if I wanted to work with them to promote their weight loss programs. In case you are curious, I turned them both down.

Running mojo

I runfess and confess…

I was reorganizing my leggings/running tights, which is a never ending chore (like laundry.) Anyway, I tried to separate long vs capri vs fleece lined etc. I am embarrassed to admit that I have over 75 pairs! While I do wear some more than others, I love them all and just couldn’t part with any more of them. I am going to do my best to rotate them better. Yes, my name is Deborah, and I have an activewear obsession.

Weekly run down

I Runfess and Confess…I used to love Halloween when the kids were still at home. We all really got into decorating the house and dressing up. When they were younger, we lived in a cul de sac that attracted many trick or treaters and I just loved it! Now, we are on a quiet street that does not get any kids coming by. I will have to wait until I have grandchildren I suppose. Until then, I will pull out my goofy costumes and run in them. I suspect my skeleton will make another appearance too!

That’s about all I’ve got to confess and runfess this October 2024. How about you? See you next Friday for the November Coffee Date.

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I agree. I think weight loss drugs are never a good idea… too many side effects.

    75 pairs – WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot of skirt and running shoes. I’m afraid to count.

Halloween was fun when the kids were young. Recently a lot of young people with young kids have moved into our neighborhood – I need to buy more candy or escape for the evening.

I have no problem at all with people who need them taking GLP’s but marketing them to people who do not have a serious problem is dangerous

Haha, 75 pairs!! I need to count mine, but if I had to guess, I think they will be around 30. And guess what I ordered yesterday? Three more. Because we can never have enough, right??

It is an addiction for sure!

I don’t have 75, but I’m still in the “do I really need all of these” category. They are tough to part with! No idea on how busy well tomorrow night (Beggers Night here) since I’m new to the ‘hood. Poor Max has a major anxiety attack with all the doorbell ringing, LOL.

They hard hard to part with and hard to resist. Hope Max survives Halloween 🙂

Hahahaha, well don’t move to Florida! I own NO capris or tights for running. I wear shorts year-round.
Yes, that does seem unethical- what if you had responded, “Why yes, I would LOVE to lose some weight.” What then? Would they actually encourage you to take a weight loss drug to the detriment of your health (you obviously don’t need to lose weight!) Seems pretty slimy.

I fully believe that these drugs can and do help people who really need them. It worries me that they seem to be freely handed out. And no, I could not live in Florida 🙂 although I did as a child

I also love Halloween, however, this month has been rough. We are scrambling to fit in all the fun things in these last few days, and we did well! Mr PugRunner and I got pumpkins and the kids carved them. We went to a Halloween pop up for fun drinks. I made a cute Halloween snack board. And we are going to a dip party on thursday. Done!

that all sounds super fun though!

I runfess I am not going to count my leggings. I don’t wanna know. Decluttering and donating is an ongoing process here but still. the struggle is definitely real! I’d be offended as well by those offers. I suspect they’d want people to believe you look the way you do BECAUSE of the drug when in fact that is false. Shame on them.

I really have no problem at all with people using these meds when they really need them. However, giving them to people who really do not need them is irresponsible
