Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down. This week we are running out September. Wow that went fast! Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and running.
Weekly Run Down Running Out September
Sunday- 2 mile walk and stretch
We did wake up to continued pretty hard rain. I took a Peloton walk outside and ended up getting pretty wet. Ended up having a low key morning before heading home from Middleburg.
Monday- mobility + core + Pilates
Today was Yom Kippur (one of our most religious holidays). While I do not fast, I do abstain from running and Peloton and posting on social media. I did get in a few stretches before heading to synagogue for services and then to my sister’s for dinner.
Tuesday- 4 miles run/walk + stretch + core
Our rainy spell continued into today. It was unseasonably cold and wet (56 degrees) which is more of our November weather. Anyway, we got out and got it done because on Tuesdays we run. I actually would rather have a rainy run than heat. I was just not prepared with jackets etc. My intervals felt pretty good today and I plan to move them up next week.
Wednesday-Peloton cycle + Pilates + core + upper body strength + 3.5 mile walk
I slept so well last night which always gives me a little extra pep in my step. That, and the fact that it finally stopped raining was a great start to the day. I started off with all things Peloton. Later, met a friend for lunch and a walk. It was so nice out that I headed out for another walk in the late afternoon.
Caesar Salad with grilled salmon-yummy and healthy!
Did you catch my stretch of the day? This one is great for mobility and stretching. Appropriate for before or after a workout or anytime.

Thursday- 4 mile run/walk + 1.5 mile walk + Pilates and stretch
I felt really good on my run today and even skipped one of the walk breaks. Mostly because I was too busy chatting-go figure! Never the less, I feel like things are continuing to improve.

Friday- 3 mile walk + upper body strength + Pilates + stretch
I opted to walk outside for my cardio/warm up today rather than hop on the bike. It just feels good to get outside everyday.
Saturday-scheduled rest day + Peloton stretch
A pretty quiet week over here-just continuing to move forward running out September as best I can.

That is the perfect quote. My motto.
So happy to hear you feeling better on the run.
Fingers crossed for nyc half this year. For both of us.

So happy that running is feeling good for you again and you’re able to get back out with your running friends.
What a fabulous transition of weather we had over the course of the week. I love these crisp fall days we have in Virginia and yesterday was pretty perfect on my bike (it would have been a little warm to feel perfect running, though).
Deborah Brooks says
It was nice to finally get the rain out of here! Working my way back slowly but surely

The salad does look yummy! Between the 2 of us, we’re a complete Jew, LOL! My husband doesn’t do temple. Although I have mentioned when we moved, going to one might be a good way to meet people.
Very nice week for you, Deborah!
Deborah Brooks says
ha ha I guess we are. We do go to services 2 times a year and a few bar mitzvah etc.
Jenny says
Sounds like running is going really well! I would also take cold and rain over the heat (well, just not TOO cold…)
i like that stretch! I’ve been stretching at night, and I’m going to add it into my routine.
Deborah Brooks says
It is getting better every week I have a long way to go. the stretches are great daily for me

Glad to read that you feel better.
Between heat and rain I prefer rain!
Here the weather is warm again but, at last, I don’t need to get up at 05:30 to go to run!
Deborah Brooks says
we are warm again this weekend. You never know what you will wake up to!
Kimberly Hatting says

A good week and I love your pink and purple outfit.
I’m in the headspace of thinking I’m never going to be fit again. I need to get into a better headspace!
Deborah Brooks says
I definitely go through days and weeks feeling that way. I do not think I will ever be back where I was and I am struggling with accepting that. Getting older is hard!
Cari says
I feel you on November, although I was getting March vibes too with the wind.
So happy that running is trending in the right direction, and what a beautiful decision to make your fast of items that are key parts of your day.
Deborah Brooks says
we do what we can!
Jenn says
I hope Yom Kippur was an easy day of reflection for you. <3
Other than that, it sounds like a great week. Even with the cold and rain, you got it done!
Gorgeous salad!
