Thanks for joining Kim and me for the Weekly Run Down. Happy New friends! I am running right out of 2021 and into this new year. Here’s a peek into my fitness routine for the last week of the year.

Running Out Of 2021

Monday- Full body strength + core + Peloton cycle + stretch

Happy to be back home and back on my bike. I wonder if she missed me as much as I missed her? Hit it hard today with 60 min of strength and stretch followed by 30 min Taylor Swift Peloton class. I loved singing along to all the fun music.

running out of 2021

Tuesday- 6 mile run + 2 mile walk + core + stretch

Happy to be back with my #RunnerGirlGang and perfect temps to knock out a 10K. I caught up with another friend for a 2 mile coffee walk and then headed out for an afternoon hair appointment.

Wednesday- full body strength + core + stretch

I overslept a bit today and got a later start. I ended up with about only 45 minutes of strength today and no cardio. It’s all good though.

running out of 21

Thursday- 6.2 mile run + core + stretch

Running out of 2021 with my last run of the year. It was a little drizzly and quite humid at first. That did not stop us. I felt pretty good out there and ended my run feeling grateful and content. Running healthy was a terrific gift this year and I am always thankful to receive it. I am ending the year feeling stronger and more fit than a year ago and that’s all I can ask for.

Friday- core + lower body + upper body and Peloton cycle+ stretch

I finished the year strong with a little bit of everything today. I liked the Taylor Swift ride so much that I took that one again. It took me way longer than it should have to create this reel but it was fun to do.

We went out with some friends for a low key dinner and were happy to be seated in our own small room off to the side. I stayed up way past my bed time but it was fun to be out. One of our sillier photos!

Saturday- Rest Day Stretch

Honoring my usual Saturday rest day and stretch,

Sunday- On the plan 8 miles

I am running right out of 2021 and straight into 2022. Starting the New Year with some base building again for my March half marathon,

Happy New Year everyone! Looking forward to another year of the Weekly Run Down.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

It’s been another interesting year, hasn’t it? You certainly crushed it and your hard work really paid off. I made a reel for IG too, and yeah, it took me way longer than it should have, lol. I’m going to need a tutorial or something to make it a little easier.

    Happy New Year, Deborah!

The TS ride is still on my list of rides to take. I needed a break from the playlist after the first burst of classes.

We had family over for NYE – first my SIL for lunch, then my Mom, Aunt and Uncle for dinner. I do love your champagne leggings!

I’m so glad you’re able to be starting 2022 strong!

You are all so festive and fun in that NYE pic! Way to finish out the year strong and feeling great! Don’t even let me start about reels. I am a total novice!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/02/2022 at 12:32 pm

We did have fun on NYE. I am happy to be starting strong and motivated. Reels are frustrating and I kind of wish they would go away

I’m not a huge Swiftie fan, but I have that Feelin’ 22 song on permanent repeat in my head right now. Not a bad thing, but I can’t make it stop. I love your NYE pic! You certainly rocked the week (in pink and purple, BTW), looking great! Happy New Year 😉

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/02/2022 at 12:50 pm

Ha that song does get stuck in my head too! Feeling ready to take on 22

A lots of great workouts this week and throughout the year. I am sure you will run a fast half marathon in march.
I like the “silly” photo. I cannot do the same because I am teetotal: I know, I know I am missing one of the best pleasure of life!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      01/02/2022 at 12:51 pm

No not at all! I actually do not drink that often maybe a glass of wine every 2 weeks. I just don’t feel that great when I do and it’s not good for my waistline

  10. Jenny says

    01/02/2022 at 10:33 am

Wow, your NYE was way more festive than mine! Obviously I need a pair of champagne leggings.
Sounds like you had a great week, and a great year. And, a strong start to 2022. Nice to have a race on the calendar already- hope your run today was great!

I love your fancy dinner photos! New Year’s Eve is the one night I don’t like to go out, so we normally just stay in.

2022 is going to be a good year. I think we just take it nice and easy and hope for the best.

Happy New Year! Fun picture of NYE, looks like a great time was had by all! I had to Google the “feeling 22” reference. I guess I’m not much of a Taylor Swift fan (or I live under a rock. haha!). I look forward to another year of doing these link ups so I can enjoy reading all of the blogs and staying connected. Thanks for doing it!

I’m really hoping for a whole lot of normalcy in 2022 – nothing flashy, I just hope that things will start to feel less stressful.
