Run Safer At Night with RunLites + Giveaway

Happy Friday! I am excited to share a new product with you that will change the way you run in the dark. RunLites are a new running glove with built in rechargeable lights allowing you to run safer at night or early morning.

Runlites|review|running

While running the American Odyssey relay last month, we wore head lamps which absolutely made us visible to cars and traffic but did not really allow me  to see much of what was in front of me. We also had a few clip on LED lights that had the tendency to fall off or bounce around while running. Enter the RunLites a new option for night and early morning runs or walks.

Run Safer

Runlites are lightweight gloves that fit similar to a biking glove with an easy turn on/off light in two brightness settings. The gloves are unisex and available in a number of color options. The built in lights are designed to last for 6-12 hours depending on which setting they are on and can then be recharged with an included USB port. No need to buy batteries which is a huge plus to me.

RunLites|night running|giveaway

There are a few more great features of RunLites: there is a small palm pocket to put in a key and they are also lined with a reflective strip and are completely breathable and washable. 2 styles are available-the fingerless lightweight model that I have here or a polar fleece model. Runlites retail between $35-39 depending on the style.

Enter to win a pair @runlites gloves- see and be seen #giveaway

I wore these last night on my Adventure Run and they really do light up the way and made me feel more secure about running on the sidewalk.

Runlites were recently feature in Fitness Magazine as the run gear you didn’t know you needed here.

Sound good to you? I am giving away a pair of your choice. Enter the Rafflecopter below and run safer at night with RunLites:

I don’t go on too many night time runs but when I do next,  these RunLites gloves will certainly be coming with me!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

I was provided a pair of RunLites in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are as always my own.

What keeps you safe and seen on night runs?

These look awesome! I hate running in the dark because I don’t have any good equipment for it!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 6:59 am

I was impressed by how lightweight they were

  2. Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says

I don’t do a whole lot of in the dark running either, but I do occasionally — early morning runs in the summer, late night runs if it’s unseasonably warm in the winter.

I have a blinking LED that clips on. And some other stuff like that, but I know I need more.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 7:01 am

I didn’t think the blinking lights helped me see on the relay runs but they did help cars see me. These gloves light the path in front of you.

I love/need these! I live in the middle of no where and it’s really poorly lit!

I really liked running with them they are so light I didn’t mind them at all.

I would love to try these! I use knuckle lights and arm bands. I love that these are gloves and you don’t have to hold them, you wear them!! Happy Friday!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 1:41 pm

I have used knuckle lights as well but I did like these better bc I didn’t have to hold onto them and they don’t need batteries

Bright reflective clothing! I’m moving to a city soon, so these would be awesome for being seen by cars and the like! :O

      Yes definitely!

I have that skirt and those shoes!

When it’s completely dark, I run with a flashing LED arm band so that I can be seen. However, I’ve never used anything to help me see while running — only when cycling. I’d like to try these! Thanks.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 1:51 pm

That’s exactly what they are for! Thanks for entering

  9. Michelle B says

    05/20/2016 at 8:57 am

My husband is in the military so we have a ton of their highly reflective running belts all over my house. So that plus a running light is how I stay seen when I run in the wee hours of the morning.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 4:21 pm

That sounds like a great plan

I run with my dog. She and I both wear reflective gear and I have a headlamp. You never can have enough lights and reflectivity!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 4:21 pm

      I agree!

  12. [email protected] says

    05/20/2016 at 10:10 am

Too bad you didn’t have those gloves for your Odyssey run. They would have been perfect. My sister got to try a pair out and she ready liked them as we.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 3:58 pm

I know they are perfect for relay races

  13. Kayley says

    05/20/2016 at 10:24 am

Right now I wear lighted bracelets to keep visible at night. These gloves would work even better because they wouldn’t get caught in the sleeves of my jacket.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 3:58 pm

That’s true! Thanks for stopping by today

  14. Susie @ Suzlyfe says

thank you deborah! last semester i started doing a lot of night runs, but only had like 2 tanks that were good for the night. i’ve been looking for a handband or something but these would be even better!

    question:
are they light weight? or keep you warm?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 3:59 pm

They are very light weight and there is also a winter version that I have not tried.

  16. Ange // Cowgirl Runs says

    05/20/2016 at 11:24 am

I typically run with a headlamp, but I LOVE the idea of these gloves! Knuckle lights (or whatever they’re called) are neat, but I think I’d grow tired of needing to hold them while running – these are such a great solution!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 4:22 pm

I agree it does get tiring holding them

  17. Tricia says

    05/20/2016 at 11:54 am

Ohhh I do like the idea of this I hate to carry along a flashlight and those hat lights don’t seem to work well for me.

    05/20/2016 at 12:46 pm

I only walk in the day time but these look cool.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      They really are!

  21. Runaway Bridal Planner says

    05/20/2016 at 2:37 pm

If I didn’t love solo running so much, I’d really love a running partner who likes to run in the dark, as I find it to be so peaceful to be out when the rest the world isn’t:)
These gloves would come in handy for a lot of races that start in the super early hours in non-lit areas. Or even Ragnar or other overnight races. Never would have thought about something like this, kinda creative!!!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      05/20/2016 at 3:57 pm

      Yes absolutely thanks for entering

  22. Nicole @ Fitful Focus says

      Yes exactly!

  23. Enna says

    05/20/2016 at 4:22 pm

  26. Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says

    05/20/2016 at 5:40 pm

When I run at night, I make sure not to wear dark clothing and I did have gloves that had blinking lights. Now that the weather’s warmer, I’d love to try these runlites!
