Thanks for joining me and Sarah for Meatless Monday today. Yup you read that right-Breakfast Cookies are all the rage right now. I mean is there really a bad time to enjoy cookies? You all know, I am all about wholesome and healthy eats here and these Protein Packed Oatmeal Cranberry Breakfast Cookies fit the bill and do not disappoint. This post is sponsored by Natural Delights Medjool Dates. All recipes and ideas are my own.
Protein Packed Oatmeal Cranberry Breakfast Cookies
Packed with wholesome ingredients that are naturally high in protein (hemp hearts, pumpkin seeds and almonds) these Oatmeal Cranberry Breakfast Cookies are the perfect way to start out your day. There are no added sugars, no dairy or soy. I’ve been cooking quite a bit with Natural Delights Medjool Dates the past few months. Since they are a naturally sweet fruit, Medjool Dates are perfect for baking and really can take the place of traditional sweeteners in many recipes. There are also loaded with potassium and who doesn’t need a little boost of that?
Although I am referring to these little mounds of deliciousness as Breakfast cookies, they are really a perfect snack for anytime of the day. Loaded with good for you steel cut oatmeal, they are perfect for refueling during or after exercise. In fact, in our completely unscientific test the other day, my friend swears our mid ride cookie snack was responsible for our speedy second half. Who am I to argue with that logic?
I prefer to make my own snacks when possible so I know exactly what is in them. These Oatmeal Cranberry Breakfast Cookies are easy to whip up and you probably have most of the ingredients right in your pantry. You can also easily sub out the almonds for peanuts or walnuts if that’s your preference. Sometimes, my best recipes happen by accident based on what is in my pantry at the time. Don’t forget the Natural Delights Medjool Dates! The baking time is only 20 min. The cookies can also be individually wrapped and frozen for later.

IMO you really don’t need protein powder if you pack in real foods like these that are naturally high in protein. Let me know what you think

Yes the dates add a nice natural sweetness but you could sub raisins in a pinch.

These sound delicious! I don’t bake much now that the kids are out of the house, but it’s nice to find recipes that are quick and easy! Can the hemp seeds be found at regular grocery stores?

Yes you should be able to find the hemp seeds in your health aisle at the regular grocery store. They are great to add into all sorts of things

Those look yummy! I always have dates on hand, but it’s been a while since I’ve used them.
I tend to go for sweet breakfasts, even though I know I’m better off with savory — at least once in a while!
