thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. This week was the start of annual trip to Aruba otherwise known as One Happy Island. I am using this week as a bit of a deload from the heavier weights I’ve been using the past 6 weeks. Don’t worry, I am still getting it done daily! Here is a peek into my week of fitness and vacation.
Weekly Run Down One Happy Island
Sunday- 2 mile walk and Pilates
Easing into the vacation life…I took a 2 mile walk around the beach. Later, I started the 1 week Peloton intro to Pilates as an easy add on this week.
Monday-barre + Pilates + upper body strength + core
Keeping up my Peloton streak of course! I only have lighter weights here this week so I am doing what I can with them. I’ve already finished my first book! Relaxation mode in full swing.
Tuesday- 2.5 mile walk/run +
It was the perfect morning for a beach run/walk and I had the shoreline all to myself. I also continued with my Pilates program. The jury is still out on this one. Our friends arrived at our villa today to join us for a few days and that will be lots of fun.
Wednesday- 2.5 mile beach walk Peloton
We slept in a bit and then had another great walk along the beach. Nothing beats the sound of the waves and feel of the sand under your feet. I spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool reading.
Thursday-core + strength for runners Peloton + lower body strength
I got in a little more Peloton today , enjoyed more time relaxing and reading and taking in the view. Later, we went to my favorite spot to watch the sunset and have dinner. The view never gets old!
Friday-morning hike to Seroe Colorado + 2.5 mile beach walk +
Since my friends had not seen this stunning natural bridge rock formation, we got up for a sunrise hike with a fabulous guide I have used previously. The views never disappoint and are absolutely worth getting up early for (even on vacation).

Saturday- Beach walk + core + stretch
We moved to other side of the island (the touristy, fun side) and our kids joined us for the second half of our vacation on One Happy Island.
I slacked off a little this week but managed to keep that Peloton streak going strong. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve really enjoyed following your week in Aruba! What an amazing getaway and so fun that you get to share it with friends this year. Enjoy this week with your kids!
We really all look forward to being together here every year. It really is our happy place. Yes, it is nice to have a few friends on island this year as well
Sounds like great timing for de-loading and relaxing!
Enjoy the sand, surf, and sun!
that is the plan! Thanks
Slacking off? Looks like you’re keeping quite active on the One Happy Island 🙂 Enjoy all that sunshine & time with family!
I am definitely enjoying it all! Slacking off meaning not doing as much as I do at home but that is what vacations are for right?!
I’ve been following along on social and everything looks so fun! love that you get a couple trip, friend trip and time with family. way to keep the streak alive!
Yes, it’s been a fun first week with my husband and some friends. Now, we have a second trip of sorts with the whole family. Best of both worlds for sure
Rest is medicine! Not all the time, obviously, but once in a while it’s a very, very good thing. Thanks for sharing your beach scenes — it looks amazing and so soothing.
It is very relaxing!
so much FOMO here… the beach is my happy place…
But I did get some sun in for a few days… I am grateful.
Enjoy!!!
yes you did too!
Sounds like a wonderful kickoff to your holiday! Stunning photos at sunrise. Enjoy!
Thanks Jessie
I wouldn’t say you slacked off- you kept up your fitness while also relaxing and enjoying your vacation! It sounds amazing. Going for a run or walk in the morning and then spending the afternoon reading on the beach sounds amazing to me.
It has been very relaxing for sure
That beach is stunning, Deborah! Reading about your relaxing with a book almost makes me relax too! Your beach run looks lovely and it sounds like you’re doing a good job keeping up some fitness activities. I felt I was slacking in Italy but afterwards I realised I kept very active with all the walking and bodyweight exercises.
Sounds like you’re having a fabulous time! Enjoy!
we are thanks!
I am so glad you’re having fun. I don’t think I’ve been to Aruba, but I have seen a similar rock formation when we were in Antigua. Now I want to go back.
It’s an easy place to get to and very nice once you do!
That view. Wow. So wonderful to have this tradition. Yay relaxation mode
absolutely!
Oh man, your week looks truly delightful! I hope you’re having the best time (rhetorical question!!).
We really are thanks!
