Coffee Date from Chi Town

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am excited to spend a few days here in Chicago with my favorite daughter. We have mom/daughter spa day set up for tomorrow and maybe some shopping. Usually, the rest of the family comes along too, but it is just the two of us this time. We are looking forward to lots of quality time together.

I am excited to see Wendy and Linda this weekend too. Check our IG stories tomorrow to see what shenanigans we are up to in Chi Town. It has been 3 years since I have seen any of them in person (at the RnR race in 2018) and it will be great fun to catch up over coffee or maybe wine. I will also be running the Chicago Hot Chocolate 15K on Sunday with Linda and now Kim too!

Rock n Roll Chicago Weekend

Uncle Buds CBD Balm Mini Review

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

Would you believe that I had never tried any type of CBD cream or product until now? My lower back has been bugging me off and on the past month. So, when I was offered a generous supply of Uncle Bud’s Balm, I decided it was time to check it out. To be honest, I had pretty low expectations but, I was wrong.

I am not one to take ibuprofen or Tylenol, so I was kind of intrigued to see if Uncle Bud’s could give me some relief. I figured if I was going to try it, I might as well go big with the strongest hemp oil balm available. The maximum strength CBD Body Revive Balm has 120mg of pure CBD oil.

I had no idea what to expect when rubbing it into my back. Instead of an immediate cooling or warming sensation, I felt more subtle but deeper muscle relief and relaxation. I have been rubbing some of this citrus smelling balm into my lower back for a week or so and I am happy to report it’s helping with the pain.

Count me surprised but happy to have found a topical option that can help. Want to try it for yourself? Use code IG20 for 20% off sitewide.

Thanks for jumping in to catch up over coffee in Chi Town. Stay tuned for more details in the weekly run down Sunday. Have a great weekend.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

That is so exciting to be in a Chicago. It seems to have a lot of bloggers. I haven’t been in years. I would love to go and run a race.

Enjoy the hot chocolate race. I ran it in Brooklyn. It was so fun.

My pt used Cbd oil on my foot and it didn’t help. Sigh.

Glad the CBD oil is giving you relief. Bandit gets some for anxiety, LOL — it works! It has other health benefits for dogs, too.

Sounds like a very exciting weekend — how fun! Enjoy it all!

You’re in my home town!!! i’m expecting to see a lot of gray, gloomy pictures… ha ha- actually I’m hoping you get some good weather.
I’ve never tried CBD products but I’m very curious. We just found out we’re going to be offering a CBD massage enhancement at work, so I should get to try it out there!
Have a great time with your daughter!

    • Deborah Brooks says

I would love to hear your thoughts on it for massage as well. Yes, I am excited for a fun weekend here

Yay shenanigans! You’re going to have an amazing time. Have a great race and spa day.
I was just listening to a podcast that was talking, in part, about how CBD can be more helpful for so many things than we all realize. Like you, not one for pain meds as I’d rather soothe the exact sore spot, but I haven’t yet tried CBD.
