November Runfessions Thanksgiving Edition

I Runfess…

I am not a big Black Friday store shopper. I can’t deal with the crowds and the parking. I will  however be doing some purchasing on line today. Fortunately, every store that you have ever ordered anything from will send you an email of their sales! Also a great opportunity to unsubscribe as well.

I Runfess…

I know many people are starting their Run Streak today. I truly admire the dedication but sadly I am not a run Streaker. My body just cannot take running everyday and I can easily over do it. I am, however, doing a workout streak. Everyday, I will be doing some sort of workout and keeping up my 3 day a week run schedule.

November Runfessions

I Runfess…

Speaking of overdoing it….I did just that. Every year when the temps drop, I feel so good I just can’t help myself but to pile on the miles too quickly. My shins have been sore the last 10 days so I am trying to take it a little easier this week. I did do a fun 10K this morning but did not race it. It was so chilly out and we are not quite used to those temps yet. Best way to start of Thanksgiving!

November Runfessions

November Runfessions

I Runfess…

I have over committed myself a bit the next 2 weeks. I will get everything done but I am a little stressed at the moment. Off to clean up all the dishes from last night and work on my Gift Guide coming out next week.

That’s my November Runfessions! Tell me-Are you a Run Streaker? Going out to shop or shopping online? Favorite thing you ate last night?

Mark your calendars for the Ultimate Coffee Date December 2

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I don’t shop in stores on black Friday either! I have already gotten so many Emails yesterday and today. My body also couldn’t handle a run streak. A workout streak is a good idea though!

I am into the workout streak! Happy Thanksgiving

Congrats on that Turkey Trot! No to the streak. Yes, I feel a little stressed too. It will all work out, right?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 9:57 am

It will all work out for sure! Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving

  4. Marcia says

I am not and never was a streaker. I run 3x/week and that’s what works for me. OMG I love your turkey race outfit! So cute! I will not go near a store today. No way.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 9:58 am

The outfit was fun thanks-the race felt like a long 6 miles! Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving

I’m not a Black Friday shopper or a streaker either! I used to streak… but that was because I was addicted to exercise!

Your turkey shirt is cute. 🙂

Oh my, my favorite thing I had last night was “the perfect bite”. It’s a bite that has turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, AND cranberry sauce in it!

    Happy Thanksgiving, Deborah!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 9:59 am

I’ve never heard of the perfect bit! I will pass that along to my husband the turkey eater.

Great job completing a 10k on Thanksgiving. Those are the cutest gloves. I am not a run streaker but am thinking about it this year since I have a treadmill now and have no excuse not to run if it is too cold out.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 10:03 am

Good luck on your streak! Look forward to hearing how it goes for you. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving

I love the shirt that you wore for your race – so cute!

I agree with you about the streaking – I just can’t do it. I did it one year during the summer but it was a struggle for me to run everyday.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 3:44 pm

Yes the running everyday is not for everyone and that’s ok!

  8. Laura @ Sprint 2 the Table says

    11/24/2017 at 3:40 pm

I’m not a Black Friday shopper either. I’m not a big shopper in general though… add crowds and I’m definitely not going. LOL!

Glad you had a nice run! I’m missing those cool temps and fun runs.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/24/2017 at 3:45 pm

The crowds are just not worth it! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving

I LOVE those Gobble Gloves! I am not an advocate for run streaking, but I do the RW Run Streak every winter. I take it really easy (never running more than 1-mile on what would usually be “non-running” days), and I usually only do moderate mileage on the other days (2-5 miles). And, come New Year’s Day? I’m SO glad it’s over LOL

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/25/2017 at 2:30 pm

Yes I bet you are! Looks like you are off to a great start

Thanks we did! Hope yours was fantastic as well

Doing a run streak would not be in my favor. I can’t just do a mile…it would turn into 3 or 4 and that’s a recipe for disaster. I ADORE your turkey gloves. I’ve got to find some! Do you remember where they came from?

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/25/2017 at 2:32 pm

I feel the same about the streak. Yes I got the gloves from Gone For A Run. They have cute accesosries for all the holidays

  12. Shannon @GirlsGotSole says

    11/25/2017 at 3:51 pm

I am also not a Black Friday shopper. Not only do I prefer to avoid crowds, but I work every year on Black Friday. I do more online shopping!
I’m totally NOT a run streaker. LOL! I don’t do well running every day. I am a 3-4 day a week runner. But, I do like holiday workout challenges!
My favorite Thanksgiving item was the Gardein turkey cutlets, first time trying them and they are a new favorite. Then again, I have yet to find a Gardein product I didn’t like.

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/25/2017 at 3:55 pm

I have not had the Gardein Turkey cutlets yet. I went with a veggie lasagna for my meatless people. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too

  13. Susie @ Mile High Dreamers says

    11/25/2017 at 7:46 pm

I definitely can’t run streak either! 3 days in a week in my max. And we cannot stand the Black Friday crowds but LOVE the deals. So thank goodness for online shopping! And our favorite thing that we ate for Thanksgiving…. Honestly it’s so hard to choose. Everything was SO GOOD!

Hope you had a great one!

I found a few great deals on line but maybe I should have waited until cyber Monday. I ate way too much!

  14. Akaleistar says

    11/25/2017 at 9:37 pm

I’m not big on crowds either, so I’m all about online shopping 🙂

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/26/2017 at 8:23 am

Definitely! I got most of my shopping done already

  15. Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says

    11/26/2017 at 7:10 am

Argh, sorry to hear about your shin pain – that is definitely frustrating!

Good call on the emails for Black Friday/Cyber Monday – maybe I can finally get rid of some of these emails!

I’m not a run streaker either…it stresses me out more than anything. I like to have the freedom to run when I want!

    • Deborah Brooks says

      11/26/2017 at 8:25 am

      Well yes that too!
