November 2024 Ultimate Coffee Date

Hello November 2024! You sure snuck up quickly. I always feel like it’s a race to the finish from now until New Year’s and this year will be no different. Grab your mugs and let’s chat over coffee.

April 2024 Ultimate Coffee Date

November 2024 Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

November is always one of my favorite months! Both my husband I have our birthdays this month-just 2 days apart and we love to celebrate them. I also love to host Thanksgiving every year. While it’s a lot of work, it brings me much joy to have everyone together. More on all of that in the coming weeks.

I was inspired by Kim to take on the painting of our guest room bathroom. It had a boring neutral color when we moved in and it was time for an update. Admittedly, painting is way out of my comfort zone and was a lot more challenging than I expected. But-I did finish it and it came out great. Fun and different just what I was going for. I had way more fun picking out all the new accessories than the actual painting. Would I do it again myself? Most likely not.

I’ve really enjoyed my last 4 years on the Brooks Running ambassador team. Sadly, that run will come to end this year. Brooks is redesigning their team and limiting the term to 3 years per person. So, unfortunately, I am not able to reapply for next year.

Being on the “run happy” team and then the “Brooks Running Collective” has been a fabulous experience. I’m grateful for the friends and connections I’ve made and of course all of the gear I’ve had the privilege to try out. I was able to attend 2 in person team retreats in Park City and Chicago. Brooks are still my favorite running shoes and I know I will continue to run happy in them.

Now it’s your turn, if we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

    Happy birthday month!! :]

I love the way the bathroom turned out! I’ve been contemplating doing some painting too — I just carved out my own little reading nook of sorts in the guest bedroom and thought it might be neat to do an accent wall or something there — haven’t really commited yet though!

I’m sorry to hear that they’re restructuring their ambassador program! Glad that you got to be on their team for as long as you did though!

I think your paint job turned out great! That bold pink/magenta is a fabulous pop of color 😉 I’m looking forward to my first Thanksgiving in my new place. Like you, I don’t mind the work because I love having the family together.

Happy Birthday month! The bathroom turned out so nice! You and Wendy have had a great run with Brooks! At lululemon our local Ambassadors have a 2 year stint before we have to change them up. The National Ambassador contracts are different. It goes fast!

Your bathroom looks great! My husband is the one who gets motivated enough to take on a project. His current mission is new carpet or flooring for our huge basement space. He’s playing with an app that superimposes options on your own photo so you can see what it will look like —pretty cool!

Interesting on the Brooks program. I guess they figure they can reach more new people with new people?

Well that’s way above my ability level! Not really sure how they will move forward with the program but so thankful I was able to be a part of it for so long

I also love November! But I agree, this time of year goes SO fast.
The bathroom looks beautiful! I think that kind of space is hard to paint. You did a great job. And… happy birthday month!

Thanks it was hard to do but glad I tried and completed it. Time is definitely flying by!

Your bathroom looks great! You know I love a good DIY project.

    Happy Birthday month!!

I am so not a DIY person so I was pretty impressed with myself!

    Yay for your birthday month!

I love the bathroom and I love the pop of color. I also love painting and went through years of intense colors. Right now, I’m enjoying some more muted shades, but I feel darker colors coming into my vibe. We will see.

It’s hard when the programs add limitations like that! You have been such an asset to the Brooks team!

Painting is hard but that came out great.

Bummer on the BRC – it will be hard to go back to being just a normal person!

I’m sad about not being a part of Brooks anymore as well. We got to share some fun times together–looks like we’ll have to make our own fun going forward!!
