Next Stop Chicago Weekly Run Down

Thanks for joining me and Kim for the weekly run down. We returned from Colorado, had a few days at home and our next stop is Chicago. We wanted to drop in and visit our daughter for her birthday. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fun.

Next Stop Chicago

Sunday- 6.2 mile run + stretch

We got home last night and I was determined to get back on schedule with my runs and strength classes. It was a little slow going out there but I got it done. Plus, I never miss a holiday themed run opportunity. We are all a little Irish on St Paddy’s Day!

Weekly run down

Monday-Peloton walk + upper body strength + core + stretch

I was a little tired today likely from time change etc but I had a stack to complete and I was determined to complete it. Nice to see my 5K badge pop up/

Weekly run down

Tuesday-4.5 mile run + stretch

It might be the first day of spring, but it was cold and very windy today.

Wednesday-Peloton walk + barre + core + lower body strength + 3 mile walk

It was a little bit of everything today with heavy lower body strength and core. It warmed up this afternoon and I had a nice power walk with a friend. A busy productive day!

Spring clean your home gym

In case you missed it, I shared my best tips for spring cleaning your home gym space.

Thursday-4.5 mile run + stretch & foam roll classes

Looks like spring feels like winter again. The sun was out but it was windy and cold again this morning. I am always thankful I got out there and feel energized for the rest of the day.

Next stop Chicago

I then spent over an hour trying to get into a live Peloton in studio class for the end of April. In case you have never tried this, they release the registration 6 weeks before the classes. Basically, you have to log on about an hour before to get in the cue to register. Then, it’s just luck of the draw as they fill up I under a minute. I luckily secured a spot in a cycle class and got waitlisted for another tread hike class. Whew!

Friday-airport Peloton walk + fly to Chicago

We were back to the airport to catch a flight to Chicago. To our surprise, we were treated by a little snow storm for the day. It’s definitely still winter here!

Next stop Chicago

We had a delicious dinner with our daughter and her boyfriend.

Next stop Chicago

Saturday- walking around Chicago

I spent the day walking around and shopping with my daughter.

Of course, I had to jump into the Shamrock Shuffle with Wendy, Erica and a bunch of Brooks Running team members. It’s way too cold but I can’t pass up a themed race.

Next stop Chicago

Today-running the Shamrock Shuffle with Wendy. Stay tuned for all the details this week.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Usually I know what’s going on weather-wise up north, but this week I had no idea you guys were plunged into winter again (until I started reading everyone’s blog posts.) Well… spring will come eventually. In the meantime enjoy your Chicago trip- so nice that you could see your daughter for her birthday!
