New Year January 2025 Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

After 2 weeks of vacation, I am definitely feeling a little “fluffy”. While I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and have no regrets, I ate and drank a lot more than my normal and exercised a lot less. That’s what vacations are for! I can assure you that I will not be doing anything drastic like a cleanse or fast or any kind of diet.

weekly run down

What will I do? I will just return to my normal exercise and eating pattern and give it 2 weeks. Hopefully, that will do the trick! Drastic measures never stick and just mess me up emotionally.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you..

Having lots of time sitting on my butt relaxing in Aruba gave me large amounts of reading time. It took forever for me to switch over to reading on a Kindle but now I am hooked. These are some of the books I read on vacation this month.

The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden

She is a pretty amazing suspense, mystery writer if that’s your jam. I’ve read so many of her previous books that I knew I would not be disappointed.

the law of innocence

If you have been watching The LIncoln Lawyer on Netflix, like I have, then the book series is right up your alley. I just finished book 6 of 7 in the series, The Law of Innocence. You will recognize many of the storylines and characters from the tv show.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you…

I am looking forward to more travel adventures and lots of family celebrations in 2025. I’m excited for the year ahead! Happy January!

If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

Sounds like your Aruba getaway was a perfect relaxation and recharge endeavor. Great attitude to just resume your normal non-Aruba routine (regarding fitness, food fun). Everything will return to normal and you’ll avoid much unneeded and unnecessary stress.

An Aruba getaway sounds so perfect about now, as I sit here and it feels like 5 degrees outside. You’re so right, you’ll get back to your routine and it’ll all be fine. Enjoy all the best 2025 has to offer!

I do love getting lost in a good book — especially a twisty suspense. I’ve read The Husband, but will check out the Lincoln Lawyer books.

Happy new year — it does sound like a fun one ahead for your family!

Ha, “fluffy” is a good way to put it. 2 weeks vacation-2 weeks normal routine… you should be back to your normal self soon. Your vacation sounds amazing, complete with lots of reading time. I haven’t read either of those, but they sound like perfect beach reads.

Your vacation looked fabulous and you’ll get back to your normal healthy habits right away.

I’m headed to Japan for the Tokyo Marathon so working on that! Do you have anything fun planned for 2025 so far? Look forward to seeing you in Chicago!

I think I’ve read all the Freida McFadden books. They’re great.

    Glad you trip went well.

I’m been eating out too much. Good think for spandex.

But you look great. Don’t worry.

If you like suspense, I just read The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica and it was fantastic.

As they say: “It’s not the weight you put on between Christmas and New Year that matters, it’s the weight you put on between New Year and Christmas.”
It’s constant work in progress for all of us, you will lose the fluffiness in no time, Deborah!

I agree that’s what vacations are for – to drink, eat, and relax! 🙂

I’ve wanted a Kindle but haven’t done so because I like having the book with me. However, I can see that the Kindle is more convenient. Which one do you have?

It is definitely for convenient. I have the paper white
