This post is sponsored by Babbleboxx. March is National Nutrition Month and a perfect time to expand your repertoire of foods and snacks. Let’s take a look at some of my new favorite foods and how to incorporate them into your weekly menu.
National Nutrition Month Fit Food Finds
As a nutrition coach and an endurance runner, I am always on the search for foods that help me to fuel my body to perform. Check out some of the fit foodie finds I am eating this month and how I enjoy them.
Minute Rice
Rice in all forms is a staple of so many of the world cuisines. Whole grains like brown rice & quinoa contain fiber which can lower the risk of cholesterol and help you feel more satiated. Rice is not just for dinner. I love to make a breakfast power bowl with eggs and avocado on top of a bed of rice. Minute rice bowls are ready to enjoy in just 60 seconds and are perfectly portioned.
Can you believe Minute Rice has been a trusted name since it debuted in the ’40s? Minute Basmati Rice has a nutty, aromatic taste that blends with just about any main dish. Minute Brown Rice & Quinoa offers both a crunchy and chewy texture by combining 2 whole grains.
Recipe 33 infused almonds
These were new to me until recently. I love savory snacks and these flavor infused almonds hit the spot. With very minimal ingredients, they make a great protein rich snack. My favorite is the smoky serrano with just 3 ingredients, I like to pair them with an apple for an afternoon snack. Recipe 33 infused almonds are great for travel as well. A serving of almonds has 6 grams of protein and is packed with vitamin E, magnesium and potassium. (source)
There are 5 infused flavor combinations to enjoy. All the flavors are infused into the almonds so there is no messy or sticky feel on your hands. Genius! Get $2 off with code TRYRECIPE33
Mighty Sesame Co. Harissa Tahini
Two of my fave condiments that are born to be combined. Tahini is made from sesame seeds and one of the ingredients of hummus. Harissa is a spicy North African condiment made from chili peppers, garlic, and red pepper. I will be whipping up some homemade hummus with this. For now, I am using it as a drizzle on my tofu power bowl. A little goes a long way. Ready to use convenient squeeze bottle.
Mighty Sesame has been a trusted brand for over 30 years. Did I mention it’s packed with 7 grams of protein and 260 mg of calcium? Yes, please.
Coconut Secret Organic Coconut Aminos
Looking to reduce sodium in your diet? This soy-free alternative that works as a 1:1 replacement for soy sauce with 72% less sodium is a win in my book. It’s perfect for stir fry dishes and marinades. With no sugar added, gluten-free, and non-GMO, it makes a great pantry staple. The coconut aminos have the perfect balance of that savory, umami taste to elevate any dish. Find out more here.
Nutiva Organic Classic Hazelnut Spread
For over 25 years, Nutiva has been working to produce organic, plant-based foods that both taste good and have a positive impact on the planet. The company strives to empower farmers, combat climate change, and encourage food education.
This creamy Organic Hazelnut spread has 40% less sugar than the leading brand without sacrificing taste. It’s perfect to spread onto a waffle post run or workout for a vegan, certified organic, non-GMO snack.

These all sound like great tasty options! I go through phases with my snacks, and am back on an almond kick at the moment. Minute Rice was one of my staples while in college…I usually make traditional rice most of the time now. I didn’t know they had new variations. Those would be great for a quick lunch if there aren’t any leftovers in the fridge 😉

Sometimes I am the only one eating it so it is nice to have a quick rice option. The almonds are really good!
Michelle says
Those almonds and the tahini both sound right up my ally! I love almonds but not always the mess of “seasoned” ones so these sound like a great option. Thanks for sharing!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes, I also appreciate the flavor being infused into the almonds. The tahini is fantastic
Jenny says
I want that tahini! I love tahini, and this one sounds extra delicious. Those almonds sound incredible, and I may have to get that hazelnut spread for my family- it sounds like a healthier version of Nutella. Thanks for sharing these!
Deborah Brooks says
The tahini is fantastic! I love harissa and it’s a great combo for me. Yes, the hazelnut spread has significantly less sugar than Nutella
