My kids favorite Banana Bread

My kids beg me to make this super easy and healthy Banana Bread. (printable recipe below) Note: it gets even softer and better the next day-Enjoy!

I’ve made a couple of tweaks to make it more healthy. Specifically, I’ve used Brown Sugar Splenda for baking. This allows you to cut the sugar by half the amount thus also reducing the calories quite a bit. I’ve also replaced the white flour with whole wheat flour and reduced the amount by 1/4 of a cup.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Using the ripest bananas you have is the best choice.

What do you think? Look good?

Always a hit in my house too! Try swapping the sour cream for Greek yogurt! Adds a little protein!

I love banana bread but have actually never made it. I just read another banana bread recipe this week too that had chocolate mixed in it. I’ve never had it that way before. I’d much rather have the bread with the chocolate instead of the nuts!

A little bit of chocolate goes a long way here. I’d rather have choc than nuts too.

The sour cream really keeps it moist without changing the flavor. Hope you give it a try!

I just read a comment above where Sue says she doesn’t like bananas. She gave me the courage to admit it too! I wasn’t going to comment because I was ashamed. 🙂 But I will admit – I, too, am a runner that does not like bananas!
The recipe does look yummy though!!

LOL-don’t be afraid to comment!!! But seriously who doesn’t like bananas?? It doesn’t taste that banana-y so if you ever decide to give them another try this is the way to go!! Thanks for commenting-have a good one!
