Thanks for joining Kim and me for the weekly run down today. Merry Christmas and Happy everything to you all. We just finished our second week in Aruba with the whole family together. Here’s a peek into my week of fitness and fun.

weekly run down

Merry and Happy Everything

Sunday- 4+ mile run + stretch + abs

I again got a much later start to my run and boy was it hot hot hot. I took it easy out there with lots of walk breaks and just enjoyed the view. How can you not?

merry and happy

Monday- lower body strength + arms/shoulders + core

Just a quick strength and core workout today to keep up my routine. I relaxed on the beach most of the day.

Tuesday-4 mile beach run + Peloton core + stretch

I again waited a bit too late to head out for my run and the sun was blazing. Can’t beat these views though. 4 “beach paced” miles in the book.

merry and happy

Wednesday- Yoga on the beach + core + strength for runners + lower body strength

A beautiful way to start the day. Yoga on the beach with my daughter. Later, I hit the hotel gym and was very excited to be the only one in there for my Peloton strength classes.

merry and happy

Thursday- 4 mile walk + core + stretch

Took it easy today with a 4 mile walk and some core work.

merry and happy

Friday- full body strength + core + stretch

I started the new total strength program with Andy from Peloton. It is a structured 6 week program that builds over the weeks. I figured why not and I will report back!

Merry and happy

Saturday- Travel home + morning walk

All good things must come to an end! We had a fantastic 2 weeks on the one happy island of Aruba! Flying home late this afternoon.

Sunday- On the plan 6-7 mile run

I am sure I will be sleeping in as we get in late Saturday night but do plan to get back on schedule with my Sunday Runday. I had a much lower key week than usual but that’s what vacations are for.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. So very grateful to have all of you in my life near and far.

About Deborah Brooks

Hi I'm Deborah! I spend my days successfully raising a husband & 2 teens in the VA/DC area. I am a lover of all things running & fitness. As a life long vegetarian, I've always been passionate about healthy living & exercise. Looking for partners in crime, I started my own chapter of Moms Run This Town (MRTT) which has grown to over 700 members. I've met so many amazing women who inspire me daily to keep moving forward. You can usually find me running with my crew and training for the next crazy adventure they talked me into. I love to keep up to date on new running & fitness trends. I definitely choose my running gear based on color and love to express my fashion sense while exercising.

I love all those blue skies in your photos – what a cheering sight! We’re feeling a bit stuck in the grey here but I’m sending husband off to Spain to help his SAD as soon as we know what’s what. Hope you acclimatise back to home OK and I look forward to taking part in the rundown once a month from now on!

I was not acclimated to the hot weather runs and they were tough for sure. I just took it easy with them. I am definitely a colder weather run lover!
