Thanks for joining Coco and me for the May Ultimate Coffee Date. These are some of my favorite posts to read and write. I love to hear all about what everyone is up to. So please grab your favorite mug and join us for some catching up over coffee.
May Ultimate Coffee Date
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…I am really excited that my daughter is coming home from college today. I am even more excited that she and my son will both be home for mother’s day and we can all be together for most of the summer. Since we moved last October, we have not all lived together in our new house yet. #Family
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…Event though, I wrote a gift guide for mother runners yesterday, I have no idea what to get my own mom for mother’s day! She is not a runner and really does not exercise too much anymore. Any ideas?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you…May is always such a busy month for us. My sister’s birthday is tomorrow and next weekend we will be balancing celebrating our 22nd anniversary, mother’s day and my son’s birthday. Busy weekend indeed! It’s kind of strange to think that we have been married for 22 years that seems like such a long time.
If were having coffee, I would tell you…It’s hard to believe this season of Girls on The Run is almost over. Our big end of the season 5K race is on May 21. I am really excited for the girls and have had a blast coaching them this season and watching them grow.
If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?
Thanks for joining us for the May Ultimate Coffee Date today and have a great day

You have a great May coming up! Nice that your daughter will be home for most of the summer! 23 years does seem like a long time, any tips 🙂 ? Enjoy all the celebrations this month! Your Girls of the Run group sounds like they have had another great year- what a great program! Thanks for coffee!
Deborah Brooks says
I will have to think about the tips! Glad to have you join us as always for coffee
Cyndi says
I would tell you that I’m super excited for my first race of the year tomorrow! Flying Pig Half Marathon. I always wanted my girls to participate in Girls on the
Run, but they never had any interest 🙁 For a Mother’s day gift, maybe a manicure/pedicure? or a bracelet? I love bracelets!
Deborah Brooks says
Everyone loves a mani pedi for sure! Good luck with your race tomorrow. My friend did it last year and loved it
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Sounds like you have a fun month coming up! Enjoy all that you have planned!
Thanks for hosting coffee 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
We do have a busy and fun month ahead!

That is a wonderful photo of your family! So much to celebrate.
I’m getting my mom some unsalted pistachios and sugar free candy. She doesn’t need stuff. I mean, I just spent months throwing out some of the stuff we gave her over the years, after all!
Enjoy your mother’s day weekend & all the fun stuff.
Deborah Brooks says
I feel like my mom does not need any stuff either!
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
I feel you on having the whole family together! Selfishly, I love that my oldest son didn’t go away to college. He’s really coming around and it’s nice to get to spend time with him now that he’s out of that high school funk we had to deal with!!! I know he’ll be on his own soon enough–I feel like this was kind of a gift!
Deborah Brooks says
OH that is definitely a gift! I remember you had a few rough months with him and it’s great to hear he has matured. A gift indeed 🙂
Marcia says
I’m in the same boat with my mom. Her only interest these days seems to be her grandkids and we’ve exhausted all of those types of gifts. How nice to have your kids home! Enjoy!
Deborah Brooks says
Yes exactly same here! I am sure I can come up with something fun
dynise says
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m nervous about my race tomorrow! Happy weekend.
Deborah Brooks says
I always get nervous about races too. It really helped me last week to right out my whole race plan. do you ever do that?

Mother’s Day is a tough one! As much as I love my mom, we are not very close…so all the mushy cards just aren’t appropriate. She’s not into fitness, nor would she want a day of pampering in a spa, or even a manicure. I usually go with a hanging flower basket…something she wouldn’t buy for herself, but it’s something that will last all summer. I love that family pic of all of you on the beach!
Deborah Brooks says
I was thinking about maybe some sort of plant or herb thanks! Happy mother’s day early to you 🙂
Susie @ Suzlyfe says
Sounds like an awesome month to come, and I love that you will have the whole fam together for Mother’s Day!

Teresa says
Ahhhh, 22 years! Congratulations! You have a beautiful Deborah! May does sound busy, busy for your guys …but in a fun way. I’m looking forward to seeing my college boy too …although he will only be here for a short time because he decided to get a job for the summer in the town where he’s at college. But hey, we take what time we can get with them and treasure them up! Have a great weekend and enjoy all of that special family time!
Deborah Brooks says
We do take the time we can get! Not always easy to let them go is it?! Happy early mother’s day to you
Shannon @GirlsGotSole says
How nice having the whole family together! You are always so busy! 😉
Is your mom into crafts? Maybe some sort of creative gift or gift card to Hobby Lobby or the like?
Deborah Brooks says
This month is certainly a busy one!
